Abstract: A noncontact charging device includes a mounting portion, a primary transmission coil, a temperature-detecting element, and a control unit. A device charged in a noncontact manner is mounted on the mounting portion. The primary transmission coil supplies power to a secondary transmission coil provided to the device by the use of electromagnetic induction. The temperature-detecting element detects a temperature of a material mounted on the mounting portion. The control unit is configured to supply power to the primary transmission coil and terminate the power supply to the primary transmission coil when a predetermined temperature is detected by the temperature-detecting element. The temperature-detecting element is located on a side of a contact surface between the mounting portion and the primary transmission coil, and the center of the temperature-detecting element is located within a range of the diameter of the primary transmission coil from the center position of the primary transmission coil.

  • Patent number: 7389129
Abstract: The present invention provides a wireless communication apparatus that allows miniaturization of the wireless communication apparatus as a whole and improvement of characteristics of an antenna device. A notch portion is formed in a shield case formed of a conductive material that covers a radio-frequency wireless communication circuit provided on a printed wiring board so as to house the radio-frequency wireless communication circuit within the shield case. By feeding power to the notch portion, the shield case is operated as a slot antenna. At the same time, the shield case blocks undesired electromagnetic waves emitted from the radio-frequency wireless communication circuit. Alternatively, a notch antenna is formed by opening one end of the notch portion formed in the shield case. By thus making the shield case function as electromagnetic wave shielding member and also function as the slot antenna or the notch antenna, the wireless communication apparatus as a whole is miniaturized.

  • Patent number: 7372897
Abstract: The number of times for averaging operation for averaging a correlation value of a received signal and a reference signal is properly controlled. When the correlation value is not averaged, since a lower limit value TH_A of a correlation level of a distribution of timings of which a path exists is larger than an upper limit value TH_B of a correlation level of a distribution of timings of which a path does not exist, the correlation value of a path is hidden by noise. Since the averaging operation is repeated until the relation of TH_A>TH_B is satisfied, the averaging operation is stopped when the relation is satisfied. The TH_A and TH_B are decided in accordance with RSCP and ISCP of a pilot channel and RSSI of a received base band signal.

  • Patent number: 7368985
Abstract: Disclosed is a digital signal processing portion that amplifies a high frequency signal resulting from digitally modulating data to be transmitted. An envelope detection portion (DETenv) generates the high frequency signal's envelope voltage. A comparator compares this envelope voltage with reference voltage Vref to generate two-state output. According to this two-state output, a power converter circuit converts power supply voltage Vbatt into power and outputs power supply voltage Vpa for a power amplifier. While the envelope voltage is larger than the reference voltage Vref, for example, the power supply voltage Vpa is changed from voltage V1 to V2 (larger than V1). In this manner, there are provided a high frequency power amplifier and a transmitter capable of decreasing distortion of transmission signals by means of a relatively simple technique.

  • Publication number: 20080058001
Abstract: A power amplifier system includes a first power amplifier, a second harmonic generator, a phase shifter, and first and second adders. The first power amplifier amplifies a primary input signal. The second harmonic generator outputs a second harmonic by using a split part (signal) of the primary input signal as an input. The phase shifter adjusts a phase of the second harmonic. The first adder sums together a split signal of the primary input signal and an output of the phase shifter, thereby to produce an output. The second power amplifier uses the output of the first adder as an input. The second adder sums together an output of the first amplifier and an output of the second power amplifier, thereby to produce an output.

  • Patent number: 7336929
Abstract: A portable terminal monitors a signal level of a short-range wireless signal from a wireless communication apparatus. If the signal level drops so low that a state of connection for short-range wireless communications cannot be maintained between the two apparatuses, use of predetermined functions of the portable terminal is limited. A short-range wireless communication facility of the portable terminal and the wireless communication apparatus move into a particular operation mode if communications do not occur therebetween at least for a predetermined time period. In monitoring the signal level of the wireless signal from the wireless communication apparatus in the particular operation mode, the portable terminal reduces a response speed at which to detect a signal level change.
