  • Publication number: 20100039527
Abstract: To improve the quality of photographs of people, the disclosure describes a system and method of photography using desirable feature recognition. The system and method recognize when the subject persons in a photograph possess one or more desirable features for a desirable photograph, such as when they are all smiling and/or not blinking. The system and method may be applied either to individual or group photographs. The system and method of the present invention may operate in a “Full Mode”, in which a picture is taken when all subject persons possess the desirable feature(s). The system and method also may operate in a “Proportional Mode”, in which a picture is taken when a set proportion of the subject persons possess the desirable feature(s).

  • Publication number: 20100042674
Abstract: An application program in a host server is operative to detect a change in the host server IP address and, in response thereto, send a message containing the changed address to a remote client, such as a mobile communication device. The message may be transmitted as an email message to a Short Message Server of a cellular provider for the mobile communication device. The message preferably contains at least the changed IP address of the server. The SMS server can identify the phone number of the mobile communication device from the received message and thereby transmit the changed IP address portion of the message to the mobile communication device.

  • Publication number: 20100034054
Abstract: An environmentally assisted processor that includes an environmental characterization module, an echo prediction module and an acoustic consistency module. The environmental characterization module obtains surrounding environmental characteristics, and provides inputs of the surrounding environmental characteristics to the echo prediction module. The echo prediction module utilizes the surrounding environmental characteristics to predict echo waveforms of would be targets in that particular local environment. The acoustic consistency module compares an observed echo waveform with predicted echo waveforms, if they are similar the observed echo waveform is determined to be from a target.

  • Patent number: 7659919
Abstract: Presented is a method of displaying a newly requested channel in a mobile TV device prior to retuning the mobile TV device to the newly selected channel. The mobile TV device demodulator and tuner are cycled on for a short period of time at regular intervals to conserve battery power. Data is buffered from multiple channels in a buffer within the mobile TV device while the demodulator is cycled on. The mobile TV device displays data from one of the buffered channels upon a request to switch to the channel prior to retuning the mobile TV device to the newly selected channel. The mobile TV device is then retuned to the newly selected channel at the next instance the demodulator and tuner are cycled on.
