Abstract: The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for presenting visual information in an automobile. An exemplary system includes a receiving station that receives a mobile device; and a display unit that presents, to a driver or a passenger in the automobile, visual information in response to one or more instructions input to the mobile device. The display unit of the system is separate from the mobile device's display. In some embodiments, the display is a mirror, while, in other embodiments, the display is an electronic display. In some embodiments, the receiving station has the ability to receive mobile devices of a plurality of types.
Abstract: A display method includes: performing display by driving a display pixel at a drive interval that conforms to a weight of each bit in a gray-scale code that includes the bits; and so correcting the drive interval, the gray-scale code, or both of the drive interval and the gray-scale code as to change a luminance of the display pixel smoothly.

Abstract: An information storing device includes a storage section configured to store revocation information that is a list of an identifier of an unauthorized device, and a data processor configured to execute determination processing of unauthorized equipment in accordance with the revocation information. The data processor extracts version information enabling identification of the issue order of the revocation information from the revocation information and transmits the extracted version information to a communication counterpart device. If the data processor receives the revocation information of a new version of the issue order held by the communication counterpart device from the communication counterpart device, the data processor executes revocation information synchronization processing of substituting the received revocation information of the new version for the revocation information of an old version stored in the storage section to store the revocation information of the new version.
Abstract: To adaptively perform display control by a display apparatus in accordance with characteristics of shutter glasses, the state of a viewer wearing the shutter glasses, etc. Glasses information, such as the chromaticity point, the luminance, and the opening response time when a shutter is opened, which is dependent on the material of a liquid crystal used for the shutter, is sent from shutter glasses 13 to a display apparatus. A display apparatus 11 receives glasses information from the shutter glasses 13 worn by a viewer, and performs image correction, such as chromaticity point correction and luminance adjustment, and opening/closing control timing control, on each of a left-eye image and a right-eye image. It is possible to provide three-dimensional images with correct colors, suitable luminance, and small crosstalk without being dependent on the viewer's subjectivity.
Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a method and a keyboard for inputting Chinese characters and electronic apparatus containing the keyboard, wherein the method is applicable to Chinese characters input on a keyboard. The keyboard includes an initial consonant inputting region and a compound vowel inputting region, the initial consonant inputting region including multiple initial consonant keys, with each of the initial consonant keys indicating at least one initial consonant, and the compound vowel inputting region including multiple compound vowel keys, with each of the compound vowel keys indicating at least one compound vowel.

Remote modules may be hosted on a smart device, such as cell phone, smart phone, netbook, notebook, and so forth into which a sensor application is loaded which is configured to communicate with the television. The television detects and can selectively enable external modules, the sensor information from which is analyzed in response to a user profile from which control decisions are made in selecting content to be played back. The image and video media being output by the television, and preferably also its output modes, are changed in response to the information from the external modules.

Abstract: Preferred format parameters including timing that is contained in an extended display information data (EDID) EEPROM in a digital video display system can be dynamically established by a user. In this way, when the video display system engages a source of video in a “plug and play” context, instead of communicating to the source what formats are supported and then accepting a format selected by the source, the preferred format is sent from the EEPROM to the source so that the video display system receives video from the source in the user-desired format.

Abstract: An image-capturing apparatus for capturing an image by using a solid-state image-capturing device may include a face detector configured to detect a face of a human being on the basis of an image signal in a period until an image signal obtained by image capturing is recorded on a recording medium; an expression evaluation section configured to evaluate the expression of the detected face and to compute an expression evaluation value indicating the degree to which the detected face is close to a specific expression in relation to expressions other than the specific expression; and a notification section configured to notify notification information corresponding to the computed expression evaluation value to an image-captured person.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for presenting a user interface. In one embodiment, a method includes displaying a scrollable list of characters associated with a character set, and detecting a selection of a displayed character of the scrollable list of characters. The method may further include displaying a search query based on the selection, updating a character set of the scrollable list based at least in part on the search query and index elements of a dataset, and displaying a result listing based on the search query, wherein the result listing identifies one or more index elements including a matching character sequence relative to the search query. Generating a search query may be based on adaptive updating of a list of characters that may be employed for generating search queries. Display of a result list may include an identification of matching character sequence.
