Abstract: A method for detecting a handed configuration of a door includes providing an electronic lock, which includes a latch assembly that includes a bolt movable between an extended position and a retracted position and a motor that is configured to drive the bolt between the extended position and the retracted position. The latch assembly includes a control circuit for controlling the motor to selectively move the bolt, at least one sensor in electrical communication with the control circuit, and at least one orientation indicator. The method includes detecting the presence of the at least one the orientation indicator and identifying a handed configuration based on the detection by the at least one sensor. The method includes driving, by the control circuit, the motor based on the identified handed configuration. The control circuit identifies the handed configuration without moving the bolt between the extended position and the retracted position.

Abstract: A filter arrangement for an aquarium is disclosed. The filter arrangement can include a housing assembly, a pump assembly, a transfer tube assembly, and a valve assembly for controlling water flow through the transfer tube assembly. The transfer tube assembly can include a tube structure within which a valve body of the valve assembly is rotatably disposed. The tube structure can be formed from a first tube half mated to a second tube half to permanently secure the valve body within the tube structure. A valve operator can be connected to the valve body to advantageously allow a user to manipulate the flow of water through the transfer tube assembly. Control of water flow through the filter arrangement is beneficial for obtaining a desired water flow for a certain aquarium size and application and for reducing flow during certain periods, such as during feeding.

Abstract: A sensor assembly includes a sensor located within an opening formed in a strike box of the strike assembly. The sensor, which could be an optical, mechanical, continuity, inductive, ultrasonic, and/or mechanical sensor, is configured to detect whether the bolt of the bolt assembly is encompassed by the strike box. The sensor assembly is configured to interact with a surface of the bolt when the bolt is located within the opening.

Abstract: A faucet includes a faucet body, a faucet spout and a spray pattern controller for providing a plurality of spray patterns. The faucet body includes a faucet handle that is movable with respect to the faucet body. The faucet spout has a first end extending from and integral to the faucet body. The spray pattern controller is located along a side of the faucet spout. The spray pattern controller is configured to adjust a spray pattern. The faucet spout may include at least first and second selectable outlets, and water flow through the outlets is selectably managed by the spray pattern controller to select a spray pattern from a plurality of spray patterns capable of being dispensed through the faucet spout.

Abstract: An impeller for use in an aquarium filter pump includes a shaft and a plurality of impeller blades radially extending from the shaft. Each of the impeller blades includes opposite blade faces. A depression is in each of the blade faces and aids in pushing the water. The depression can be a variety of shapes and can have its deepest portion along one of the edges of the blade.

Abstract: Systems and methods of an internet of things device connecting to a remote server. The internet of things device connects to a web target. The web target sends a response to the internet of things device indicating whether a change to the one or more settings of the internet of things device has been received at a cloud server. If a change has occurred, the internet of things device connects to a secure cloud server to update the settings on the internet of things device.

Abstract: A latch assembly includes a rose, a handle rotatably coupled to the rose and rotatable around a rotation axis, and a latch. A biasing member is disposed within the rose and engaged with the latch. The biasing member being selectively connectable to the rose. When the biasing member is connected to the rose, the latch is pivotable around the rotation axis between a latched position and an unlatched position via the handle. The latch biased towards the latched position. When the biasing member is disconnected from the rose, the handle and the latch are rotatable together around the rotation axis between at least a left-handed configuration and a right-handed configuration. The biasing member connecting to the rose to secure the handle and the latch in either the left-handed configuration or the right-handed configuration.

Abstract: A faucet having a pressure-sensitive surface for dynamically adjusting the faucet's water flow rate and/or temperature based on an amount of pressure applied to the surface of the faucet is disclosed. A pressure sensor may be electronically connected to one or more electronic valves of the faucet to control the flow of water through either the cold or hot water lines, thereby controlling the flow rate and/or temperature of water coming from the faucet.

Abstract: A latch assembly is provided where a latch bolt is moveable to open and close a door by unblocking pivotal movement of the latch bolt. Turning a door knob or door handle does not directly result in a corresponding retraction of the latch within a sleeve, but rather unblocks the bolt to freely pivot away from a latched position. In some embodiments, the latch assembly may include a sleeve that allows for a backset to be infinitely adjusted relative to an aperture of the sleeve. In some embodiments, the latch assembly may further include a dead latch to provide additional security against forced entry.

The electronically-controlled manually-actuated deadbolt lock includes an internal spring-actuated coupling mechanism that, when a user is authenticated, the coupling mechanism is placed in an engaged position that allows a deadbolt latch to be moved into a locked or unlocked position responsive to a manual rotation of a turn piece. Because the deadbolt latch is manually driven, a warped door condition can be overcome. Additionally, because the deadbolt latch is manually actuated, operation of the electronic motor may be decreased, which may increase battery life.

Abstract: A showerhead engine internally swirls water within a swirling chamber. Multiple swirling chambers may be used, each separated from one another. The water is swirled angled through holes in a mid plate. As the water passes through the angled holes, it is projected out an angle. The water then contacts the swirling chamber wall and continues to follow the curvature of the wall. The curved wall paired with the angled entry causes the water to continue to swirl within the swirling chamber. The water is released out of the swirling chamber through slots, which allow the water to retain the angular velocity at a discharge angle.
