Patent number: 9698465Abstract: An antenna mount for mounting radio antennas on a communications tower is described. The antenna mount includes a ring structure that encircles the tower and includes a channel disposed about its outer perimeter. The channel is configured to receive a plurality of antenna carriages upon which antennas are mounted on a first end. A second end of the antenna carriage is disposed in the channel and is slideably movable along the length of the channel about the perimeter of the ring structure. The antenna is thus aimable in any desired azimuthal direction by moving the antenna along the ring structure. Bands for communication of data, power, control signaling, and propulsion of the antenna carriages about the ring structure are disposed in the channel. The ring structure may include a junction that allows reorientation of antennas with respect to one another.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2017Date of Patent: July 4, 2017Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Nicholas David Caola Kullman, Andrew Mark Wurtenberger

Patent number: 9690100Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a transparent lens system coupled to a frame that positions the lens system in front of a user's eye when the frame is mounted on the user's head. A wireless transceiver wirelessly receives display control signals and transfers the display control signals to an LCD system that is embedded within the transparent lens system. The LCD system renders images and transparency in response to the display control signals. In some examples, an optical receiver transfers the optical information signals to the wireless transceiver, and the transceiver wirelessly transfers the optical information signals. In some examples, a wireless communication device wirelessly transfers the display control signals and receives the optical information signals.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2011Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Justin Clay Eddings, Joshua Cole

Patent number: 9693373Abstract: In a communication system, a translation server individually associates session control servers with transfer control servers. One of the session control servers receives a registration for a User Equipment (UE) over a first network. The translation server associates the UE with the session control server in the data structure. The session control server exchanges first control signaling with the UE to establish a media session over the first network. The translation server receives a session transfer request for the UE from a second network. The translation server processes the data structure to identify the transfer control server that is associated with the session control server that is associated with the UE. The translation server transfers the session transfer request to the transfer control server. The transfer control server exchanges second control signaling with the second network to transfer the media session from the first network to the second network.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2014Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Rajil Malhotra, Saravana Velusamy, Asfaw Negeri, Ashish Bhan

Patent number: 9680961Abstract: A method comprises a server receiving a message from a device requesting content, reading a first time record for the previous receipt of content, comparing the first time record with a second time record for the content stored in cache, and sending, when the second time record is newer than the first time record, the requested content. When time records match, the device is advised of refresh time and to request later. When the message lacks a time record, the requested content is sent. When cache does not contain requested content, a data loader obtains content from a server. A message to the device advises the time to obtain the content and to request again later. When cache does not contain the content and the server is unavailable, the data loader determines the time of network availability. A message then advises of availability time and to request again later.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2012Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Robin D. Patent number: 9673982Abstract: In a data communication network, Network Interface Cards (NICs) receive user data and interrupt Central Processing Units (CPUs) that then transfer buffer descriptors for the user data to Data Memory Buffers (DMBs). The DMBs receive the buffer descriptors from the CPUs and transfer the buffer descriptors to the NICs. The NICs receive the buffer descriptors and responsively transfer the user data to the DMBs. The DMBs buffer the user data. A master NIC transfers a CPU hardware-trust validation challenge to a master CPU. The master CPU hashes the validation data with its physically-embedded, hardware-trust code to generate and transfer a CPU hardware-trust validation result. The master NIC processes the CPU hardware-trust validation result to verify hardware-trust of the master CPU.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2015Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Ronald R. Patent number: 9654231Abstract: A device, method, and computer-readable medium are provided for mitigating signal interference at a base station. Signal interference can be generated from subcomponent levels at a base station (e.g., electronic antenna motors) due to non-optimal designs or electric ground interferences. Generally, when power is provided to such subcomponent(s), a noise or harmonic can be inadvertently generated, falling into one of the operating bands of the base station, and negatively impacting system performance. As such, embodiments can be configured to dynamically ascertain a noise baseline associated with the base station, determine that one or more of the subcomponents are at fault for interfering with the base station operating band(s), and mitigate the interfering signal for a period that least impacts system performance.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2015Date of Patent: May 16, 2017Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Sreekar Marupaduga, Andrew M. Patent number: 9655104Abstract: Examples disclosed herein provide systems, methods, and software to limit the reordering of data packets at a wireless communication device during a communication. In one implementation, a wireless access node may measure reordering density factors related to component carriers providing a communication. Based on the reordering density factors, the access node may determine a packet reordering density, which is related to the number of packets that would be received by the wireless communication device in an undesirable order. Upon determining the packet reordering density, the wireless access node determines whether the density meets criteria and, if the density meets the criteria, generates a second carrier aggregation configuration based on available resources the component carriers.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2015Date of Patent: May 16, 2017Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventor: Daniel A.
