  • Patent number: 9608306
Abstract: An antenna mount for mounting radio antennas on a communications tower is described. The antenna mount includes a ring structure that encircles the tower and includes a channel disposed about its outer perimeter. The channel is configured to receive a plurality of antenna carriages upon which antennas are mounted on a first end. A second end of the antenna carriage is disposed in the channel and is slideably movable along the length of the channel about the perimeter of the ring structure. The antenna is thus aimable in any desired azimuthal direction by moving the antenna along the ring structure. Bands for communication of data, power, control signaling, and propulsion of the antenna carriages about the ring structure are disposed in the channel. • Patent number: 9608759
Abstract: An Internet Protocol/Wave Division Multiplex (IP/WDM) network implements Hardware Root of Trust (HRoT) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). An NFV server generates and transfers IP control data and WDM control data to IP/WDM machines. The IP/WDM machines exchange IP packets between IP ports and WDM interfaces based on the IP control data. The IP/WDM machines exchange the IP packets between the WDM interfaces and WDM ports based on the WDM control data. The IP/WDM machines transmit and receive the IP packets from the WDM ports using different optical wavelengths. The IP/WDM machines transfer HRoT data indicating the optical wavelengths used to exchange the IP packets and indicating encoded hardware keys physically-embedded on the IP/WDM machines. The NFV server receives the HRoT data and process the encoded hardware keys and the optical wavelengths to validate HRoT status of the IP/WDM machines.

  • Patent number: 9609529
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for optimizing coverage for a cell site are provided. Cell sites are typically configured with antennas that emit a standard petal lobe pattern for a sector. The needs of the sector are not taken into account since a standard pattern is emitted for all antennas. The antennas may be adjusted at times to increase signal strength to particular regions but the pattern then returns to the standard petal pattern. Customized patterns may be created in order to optimize coverage for a sector. Sector needs may be taken into consideration such as object interference, geographical information, population data, and the like, in order to crate the customized pattern for a sector. The antenna may then emit the customized pattern for a predetermined length of time as a static pattern for that cell site.

  • Patent number: 9601121
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for override vocoder capacity operating point (COP) allocation. In a particular embodiment, a method provides determining a communication load on a wireless access node. Based on the communication load, the method provides allocating a first COP for a vocoder, wherein the vocoder is used on voice communications exchanged with the wireless access node. The method further provides determining a frame error rate of a wireless communication link between a wireless communication device and the wireless access node. If the frame error rate indicates that a COP of the wireless communication link should be lower than the first COP, the method provides allocating an override COP to the COP of the wireless communication link based on the frame error rate.
