  • Patent number: 9521580
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for reducing the potential of interference between a cell tower and a neighboring EMR source. At a base station, such as an eNodeB, it is determined that a sector of the cell tower has the potential for interference with the EMR source based on, for instance, monitoring of network parameters, a computation of the sector's azimuth, and a distance between the sector and the EMR source. Time intervals are computed corresponding to when the EMR source emits EMR in a direction of the sector of the base station, Uplink and downlink transmissions to and from the sector of the cell tower are ceased during the computed time intervals.

  • Patent number: 9515990
Abstract: Methods are described for communicating a reregistration timer to a mobile device. A request is received from a mobile device to establish an IP communication session so that the mobile device is able to communicate by way of a wireless communication network. An allocation component assigns an IP address to the mobile device, in addition to a lifetime value that indicates a length of time after which the IP communication session expires. A threshold value is determined, which is a length of time prior to the expiration of the IP communication session when the session is to be renewed to avoid expiration. Based on the lifetime value and the threshold value, an existing lifetime timer is set and communicated to the mobile device, along with the assigned IP address.

  • Patent number: 9516526
Abstract: A method and system are provided for visualizing and analyzing spectrum assets. License, channel, and lease data from a communications authority is collected and formatted into individual polygon maps. The maps could be drawn according to county or state boundaries, or by some other mapping standard. The maps are then divided and redrawn into several market service areas and several basic trading areas. The maps are also divided and redrawn according to the bandwidth spectrum of one or more channels. Since the maps are drawn with several different boundary conditions, the layout of all of the maps result in some maps being partially overlaid onto other maps for the same region. These regions containing partially overlaid maps are redefined as superblocks. Each superblock contains all of the data from each overlaid map portion for that particular region.

  • Patent number: 9516572
Abstract: A mobility server receives a tracking area update from User Equipment (UE) indicating UE Identifier (ID) and current tracking area ID and responsively determines if the current tracking area ID is new tracking area ID. If current tracking area ID comprises new tracking area ID, then the mobility server updates a tracking area database with new tracking area ID. The mobility server translates UE ID and current tracking area ID into candidate Access Point Name (APN) data set and determines if candidate APN data set is a new APN data set. If candidate APN data set comprises new APN data set, then the mobility server transfers an instruction for UE to perform a wireless reattachment to obtain candidate APN data set and receives an attachment request from UE indicating UE ID and current tracking area ID and responsively transfers candidate APN data set to a data network gateway.

  • Patent number: 9509587
Abstract: A communication system determines Hardware Root-of-Trust (HRoT) trust for Internet Protocol (IP) communications. A probe transfers probe packets having an originating IP address, destination IP address, and IP HRoT reporting parameter. IP routers receive the probe packets through input interfaces and route the probe packets from the input interfaces to output interfaces. Responsive to the IP HRoT reporting parameter, the IP routers encode router Hardware Identifiers (HW IDs) for transfer in probe responses to the probe system. The probe responses indicate the encoded router HW IDs, IP input interfaces, and IP output interfaces. The probe system processes the probe responses to identify an end-to-end IP communication path for the originating IP address and destination IP address based on the IP interfaces. The network probe system determines hardware trust status for the end-to-end IP communication path based on the encoded IP router HW IDs.
