Patent number: 9294477Abstract: An access interface system for interfacing between an enterprise network and a service provider network comprises an interface and a processing system. The interface is configured to receive traffic from the service provider network wherein the traffic identifies a virtual link and a media access control address, transmit the traffic to the enterprise network if the media access control address is allowed for the virtual link, and block the traffic if the media access control address is not allowed for the virtual link. The processing system is configured to determine if the media access control address is allowed for the virtual link.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2006Date of Patent: March 22, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventor: Michael K. Patent number: 9292540Abstract: Media, methods and systems are provided for interfacing a mobile device to an application virtual machine via an application programming interface (API). A first set of file connection properties for one or more internal storage locations and a second set of file connection properties for one or more external storage locations are defined at a mobile device. The first and second sets of file connection properties define the file storage locations for a plurality of media types. Requests are received from the application virtual machine for the first and second sets of file connection properties. The application virtual machine identifies a current default storage area that can be selected from the one or more internal storage locations and the one or more external storage locations, and indicates whether the current default storage location is an internal storage location or an external storage location.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2014Date of Patent: March 22, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Raymond Emilio Reeves, Ryan Alan Wick, John Marvin Jones, III

Patent number: 9294970Abstract: A base station's neighbor list may become outdated as nearer base stations are deployed. Because mobile devices report non-unique identifiers of surrounding base stations, a serving base station may confuse a newer neighboring base station with an out-of-date neighboring base station having the same non-unique identifier. The base station may attempt to hand over the mobile device to the wrong base station based on its outdated neighbor list. A determination may be made that first and second base stations share an identical non-unique identifier. A determination may be made that the first and second base stations' neighbor lists include an identical unique identifier associated with a third base station. The earlier of the two base stations is determined, and the neighbor relationship between the earlier base station and the third base station is removed from their associated neighbor lists.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2014Date of Patent: March 22, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Krishna Sitaram, Daniel Alberto Vivanco, Chunmei Lu

Patent number: 9295081Abstract: An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) communication system and method to schedule transfers of first and second user communications between the FDM communication system and a Wireless Communication Device (WCD) are provided. The OFDM communication system in one example includes an OFDM scheduling system to process Quality-of-Service Class Identifiers (QCIs) and determine if the first user communication having a first QCI can be scheduled subsequently and if the second user communication having a second QCI can be scheduled in place of the first user communication, and if the first user communication can be scheduled subsequently and the second user communication should be scheduled in place of the first user communication, then schedule the second user communication in place of the first user communication. An OFDM transceiver wirelessly transfers the second user communication in place of the first user communication between the OFDM communication system and the WCD based on scheduling.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2014Date of Patent: March 22, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communication Cômpany L.P.Inventors: Jasinder Pal Singh, Maulik K. Patent number: 9288724Abstract: The invention is directed to optimization of a seamless transition of a mobile device from a 3G eHRPD network to a 4G network in a failure scenario. The mobile device is authenticated and attached to the 3G eHRPD network. Upon the mobile device initiating a first handoff attempt to access and access the 4G network, the subscriber profile database is accessed to determine whether a packet gateway identifier is stored on the database. If the identifier is not stored on the database, the first handoff attempt of the mobile device to access the 4G network is denied. Upon being denied, the packet gateway is triggered to communicate the packet gateway identifier in an authorization request so that the identifier can be stored in the subscriber profile database. A subsequent attempt of the mobile device to handoff to the 4G network is allowed, as the packet gateway identifier is now stored on the database.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2013Date of Patent: March 15, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Pawankumar C. Patent number: 9288202Abstract: A method for resetting a network password of a first user initiated by a second user is provided. The method comprises a system receiving a request from the second user to reset the password of the first user, wherein the first user is associated with the network. After receiving the request, verification that the second user has a hierarchal relationship to the first user, and that the second user has an active status in the network is completed. After the verification, the network password of the first user is then reset. A notification about resetting the network password is sent to a mobile communication device associated with the first user. Contact information of the second user is found in a data store based on an identification of the second user in the request; another notification is sent about resetting the network password to a communication account of the second user.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2013Date of Patent: March 15, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: John D. Patent number: 9282469Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided for increasing carrier-to-interference-and-noise ratio (CINR) gain in a long-term-evolution network deploying beam forming (BF) technologies. Adjacent eNodeBs, each serving a respective user equipment (UE) located at the boundary between the two eNodeBs, communicate BF parameters to each other. Each eNodeB uses the received BF parameters to adjust its DL transmission beam in order to decrease the interference at each of the respective UEs. By adjusting the DL transmission beam to decrease interference, CINR gain at the UEs is correspondingly increased.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2013Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Sungki Park, Brent Scott, Saied Kazeminejad, Brett Christian

Patent number: 9282442Abstract: A communication system to route telephony signals based on OLI. The communication system includes a telephony signaling system and a call processing system. The telephony signaling system receives a first signaling message over an originating line indicating a telephony number and in response, generates and transfers a second signaling message indicating the telephony number and the OLI for delivery to a call processing system. The call processing system receives the second signaling message, and in response, processes the telephony number to identify a RespOrg. The call processing system processes the OLI based on the identified RespOrg to select a CIC. Call processing system generates and transfers a third signaling message indicating the selected CIC for delivery to the telephony signaling system. The telephony signaling system receives the third signaling message, and in response, generates and transfers a fourth signaling message for delivery to a telephony network based on the selected CIC.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2014Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Mark J. In embodiments, the method includes receiving, on a mobile device, a SIB2 message. A barring factor associated with the SIB2 message is identified. In embodiments, the barring factor is dynamic based on traffic parameters associated with a network. An upper limit for a random number is set on the mobile device and the random number is generated. The random number is generated and compared to the barring factor. If the random number is less than the barring factor, access to the network is provided to the mobile device. In embodiments, an additional random number is generated for special users or devices if the random number is greater than or equal to the barring factor.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2012Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Maulik K.
