  • Patent number: 11212699
Abstract: A wireless User Equipment (UE) attaches to a Fifth Generation New Radio (5GNR) gNodeB in a wireless communication network. The wireless communication network receives a Guaranteed Bit Rate (GBR) request for the UE. In the wireless communication network, a Policy Control Function (PCF) efficiently invokes an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) and a Session Management Function (SMF) to effectively serve the GBR request. The AMF signals the UE and the 5GNR gNodeB to initiate the GBR service over the Long Term Evolution eNodeB. The SMF signals a data gateway to initiate the GBR service with the LTE eNodeB. The UE attaches to the LTE eNodeB. The LTE eNodeB and the data gateway deliver the requested GBR service to the UE.

  • Patent number: 11206560
Abstract: A wireless relay mitigates cross-relay interference when serving wireless user devices. A network transceiver detects wireless access points and determines signal strengths for the wireless access points. The network transceiver transmits test signals to the wireless access points and directs a user transceiver to detect interference levels during the test. The network transceiver uses the interference level reported by user transceiver to calculate the interference level it would receive from the transmitter of user transceiver with a certain algorithm. The network transceiver selects wireless access points based on their signal strength and calculated cross-relay interference levels. The network transceiver exchanges user data with the selected wireless access points. The user transceiver exchanges the user data with the wireless user devices.

  • Patent number: 11197240
Abstract: A wireless communication network serves a wireless User Equipment (UE) and comprises a wireless access node and a support access node. The wireless access node determines an amount of mobile active UEs for the support access node. The wireless access node determines an add threshold for the support access node based on amount of mobile active UEs for the support access node. The wireless access node determines an add value for the support access node and determines when the add value is greater than the add threshold. When the add value is greater than the add threshold, the wireless access node signals the support access node to serve the wireless UE and signals the wireless UE to attach to the support access node. In response, the support access node wirelessly transfers user data for a wireless communication service to the wireless UE.

  • Patent number: 11191060
Abstract: In a wireless network, a Distributed Unit (DU) receives Uplink (UL) data from User Equipment (UE) and a Central Unit (CU) receives Downlink (DL) data for the UE. When DL-centric applications in the UE use the DL, the CU executes most network applications and the DU executes a few network applications. When the DL-centric applications use the UL, the DU executes the network applications and the CU transfers the UL data to the core. When UL-centric applications in the UE use the DL, the CU routes the DL data to the DU, and the DU executes the network applications. When the UL-centric applications use the UL, the DU executes a few network applications and the CU executes most network applications to route the data to the core. Advantageously, the DU and the CU are optimized to process UL/DL data for a user application based on whether the user application is UL-centric or DL-centric.
