  • Publication number: 20220125280
Abstract: An example apparatus includes a light source, first and second polarizers, an image sensor, a filter, and control circuitry. The light source outputs a light beam, and the first polarizer passes first polarized light from the output light beam and toward a sample. The image sensor collects light reflected from the sample responsive to the passed first polarized light. The second polarizer passes second polarized light from the reflected light and toward the image sensor. The filter selectively passes the reflected light in a visible light range and near infrared range (NIR) light range toward the image sensor. The control circuitry causes the first and second polarizers to adjust to different polarization angles, and collects the image data of the sample from the reflected light.

  • Patent number: 11313684
Abstract: During GPS-denied/restricted navigation, images proximate a platform device are captured using a camera, and corresponding motion measurements of the platform device are captured using an IMU device. Features of a current frame of the images captured are extracted. Extracted features are matched and feature information between consecutive frames is tracked. The extracted features are compared to previously stored, geo-referenced visual features from a plurality of platform devices. If one of the extracted features does not match a geo-referenced visual feature, a pose is determined for the platform device using IMU measurements propagated from a previous pose and relative motion information between consecutive frames, which is determined using the tracked feature information.

  • Patent number: 11301703
Abstract: A biometric access control system for controlling access to an environment based on an authorization status of a living subject is disclosed. In one example, a data source generates image data of a tissue region of the subject. A liveness measurement unit processes the image data to detect changes over at least one of time or spatial volume in one or more structural features of the tissue region and generates, based on the detected changes, a spoofing attack detection status indicating that the image data is from living biological tissue or that a spoofing attack is detected. A biometric identification unit processes at least a portion of the same image data generated by the data source to generate biometric information indicative of an identity of the subject. Responsive to the spoofing attack detection status and the biometric information, an authorization unit outputs an authorization status for the subject.

Abstract: Manufacturing integrated circuits is discussed with steps as follows. Creating a wafer with a plurality of dies, where each die contains its own integrated circuit. Fabricating multiple instances of TAP circuitry located in a margin between dies of the wafer. Fabricating on the wafer one row of test pads and power pads per group of dies on the wafer, where the row of test pads and power pads is electrically connected and shared among all of the dies in the group. The test and power pads connect to a chain of TAP circuitry in order to supply operating power as well as testing data to verify the integrity of each die in that group of dies. • Patent number: 11271308
Abstract: Systems are provided for the efficient generation of oscillating magnetic fields below the Low Frequency band. These systems generate such fields by mechanically rotating one or more diametrically-magnetized permanent magnets. In order to reduce friction, the magnets are rotated by applying a motive magnetic field to the magnet(s) to rotate the magnet(s) and thereby generate the oscillating magnetic field. Additionally, diamagnetic repulsion, active magnetic field control, and/or biasing permanent magnets are employed to levitate the rotating magnet(s), further reducing friction and increasing system efficiency. These systems may be employed to generate modulated low-frequency oscillating magnetic fields for communication through seawater, rocks, or other obstacles. Additionally or alternatively, these systems may be employed to generate low-frequency oscillating magnetic fields for navigation and location sensing, resource identification and extraction, or other applications.

  • Patent number: 11263339
Abstract: In general, techniques for data access control are described, in which a policy engine implements and applies a declarative policy framework that can represent and reason about complex privacy policies. By using a common data model together with a formal shareability theory, this declarative policy framework enables the specification of expressive policies in a concise way without burdening the user with technical details of the underlying formalism of a data querying application or other knowledge representation scheme. The policy engine may be deployed as the policy decision point in a data access control system that also includes a policy enforcement point. The policy engine includes user interfaces for the creation, validation, and management of privacy policies. The policy engine may interface with systems that manage data requests and replies by coordinating policy engine decisions and access to databases.

  • Patent number: 11223478
Abstract: An example system can include a reference biometric template (RBT) reader, an authenticator, and an auxiliary system. In some examples, during an initial enrollment process, the RBT reader obtains a biometric from a user, transforms the biometric into an RBT, and provides different shares of the RBT to the authenticator and the auxiliary system. The authenticator and the auxiliary system create respective shares of helper data. In some examples, the authenticator and the auxiliary system use a non-commutative transformation function to embed a secret key in their respective shares of the helper data. The auxiliary system provides its share of the helper data to the authenticator. The authenticator combines its share of the helper data with the share provided by the auxiliary system to create a full version of the helper data. The helper data can be used in a subsequent authentication process between the RBT reader and the authenticator.

  • Patent number: 11216662
Abstract: A variety of applications involve transmission of video data in real time. However, bandwidth limitations may result in degradation of the quality of the transmitted video. To address such limitations, a video stream may be limited to ‘regions of interest’ within each frame of the video stream. This can be accomplished by setting areas outside of the regions of interest to an a priori known color or ‘blanking’ color, and the resulting ‘blanked’ video stream can be compressed and transmitted without extensive modifications to existing transmission apparatus. The original video can be reconstituted by superimposing the received region-of-interest video data onto a background image of the environment that contains the regions-of-interest. The background image can be satellite imagery or other stored imagery that matches the perspective of the video stream. Geographical tag data can be used to superimpose the region-of-interest video data onto the background image.

  • Patent number: 11206276
Abstract: A correlator that includes a number of modules cooperating with each other. A transaction correlation module correlates network flow information for one or more network packet flows corresponding to one or more host-agent network-transaction records on whom participated in a network packet flow. The host-agent network-transaction records at least contain source information. A host input module to take in the host-agent network-transaction records from each host agent on its host computing device connecting to the correlator. A merged record creator creates a merged record for corresponding matches of one or more of the host-agent network-transaction records to one or more of the network packet flows. The merged record gives the network policy enforcement module a complete picture of both the network traffic flow information along with the source information that participated in the network packet flows in order to apply network polices against the network packet flows.
