  • Publication number: 20080135819
Abstract: A device (1) that compensates the weight of a suspended load, for example a tool or welding tongs, is provided as a spring tensioner with at least one barrel (4) or supporting wire that can be reeled off a barrel (3) against the force of a spring (2). The barrel (3) is supported on a shaft (6), to which the spring (2) engages directly with its interior end or via a sheath connected to the shaft (6), while the opposite exterior end of the spring (2) is mounted to the barrel (3) at the inside. A shaft drive (7) can be activated to change the pull force at the spring (2) via the shaft (6). The spring (2) is connected to the shaft drive (7) or to a drive wheel (8) allocated thereto via a freewheel.

  • Patent number: 7290422
Abstract: The invention pertains to a device for the 3D free-form bending of profiles with arbitrary, but constant outside dimensions over the profile length, particularly hollow profiles, wherein the profile to be bent has a longitudinal axis and is moved through the through-opening-of a guide element adjoining the profile surface and a bending sleeve that is arranged downstream of the guide element referred to the feed direction and held in a carrier element in a feed direction that extends parallel to the longitudinal axis, namely by means of a feed unit that contains a rotary drive. The bending sleeve can be pivoted about an axis that extends perpendicular to the feed direction and displaced perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the profile. When turning the profile about its longitudinal axis by means of the feed unit, the guide element and the bending sleeve can be turned with the profile.

  • Patent number: 7273247
Abstract: The invention relates to a support structure for vehicles, made from a longitudinal member (1) comprising at least two interconnected hollow sections (10, 11). One of the hollow sections continues in the direction of the bumper (5). In the case of a crash with low-speed impact, there is a targeted deformation of the single hollow section (10c), which makes it possible to carry out repairs economically. In the case of a higher-speed impact, the more rigid support structure of the double hollow section for protecting passengers comes into play. Since in this design the impact absorber, which is usually arranged between the longitudinal member and the bumper, can be done without, there is also a reduction in the number of components required, and thus in the overall weight.

  • Publication number: 20070199631
Abstract: A steel strip can be produced which in spite of its high manganese content has good deformation behaviour in that, according to the invention, from a steel which comprises more than 12 to 30 weight % of manganese, a roughed strip (V) is cast close to the final dimensions in a double-roller casting machine (2), said roughed strip comprising a thickness of up to 6 mm. Following casting, this roughed strip is further processed to form a continuous hot strip by preferably being rolled in a single hot roll pass.

  • Publication number: 20070180677
Abstract: The invention relates to an internal high pressure shaping method for shaping metal tubes (5) produced from metal, especially steel, in a tool (1) that has a die cavity (2) with a complex contour. Said die cavity (2) has cylindrical sections (2a, 2b) on its two opposite ends. The tube which is conical across its entire length is inserted in such a die cavity in such a manner that it lies with its ends (5a, 5b) in the area of the cylindrical sections (2a, 2b). The sealing plugs force the ends (5a, 5b) against the cylindrical sections (2a, 2b), optionally while radially flaring them, so that they come to rest clamped between the wall of the cylindrical sections (2a, 2b) and the sealing plugs. The tube (5) is forced against the complex contour of the die cavity (2) by subjecting the tube (5) to an internal high pressure and simultaneous axial compression of the tube (5).

  • Patent number: 7152660
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotary lead-through for the coolant inflow and outflow of a back-up and/or conveyor roller (1) which is held in a bearing arrangement at the end at least by means of bearing journals (10) located in bearing blocks (11), in particular in a continuous casting plant. To compensate for the axial movement and oscillating movement of the back-up and/or conveyor roller during operation, the bearing (9) at one end, to which the coolant inflow line and the coolant outflow line is connected, is a fixed axial bearing which is nevertheless able to absorb oscillating movement, while the other bearing is a detached axial bearing.

  • Patent number: 7100433
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wheel rim (1), having a wheel rim bed (1a), of a vehicle wheel having a detection system for a measurement device for detecting the rotational velocity of the vehicle wheel. The detection system comprises a marking (6), running around the circumference on the wheel rim bed (1a) or integrated therein, made of a track of marks (6a, 6b, 6c), which are implemented as a profile that stiffens the wheel rim bed (1a) and are detectable without contact to detect the rotational velocity when passing a sensor (7) of a measurement device to be positioned stationary next to the vehicle wheel.

  • Patent number: 7075765
Abstract: A circuit arrangement includes a current measuring or temperature measuring device, used for triggering a shunt device. Said shunt device produces a short-circuit, which directly leads to the blowing of a fuse. The arrangement is modular and allows the operation of several current measuring devices on a common shunt device. Said arrangement is specifically adapted to prevent a protection resistor from warming up to too high a surface temperature in the case of an error, because the current is flowing for too much time.

  • Patent number: 7052072
Abstract: In order to attach a seal on an aperture rim of a motor vehicle body in the space-frame design, wherein said aperture rim is edged by a profile frame and is closable by means of a door or flap, for the purpose of minimising the installation effort as well as the weight, the invention provides for a profile seal (13a, 14a) comprising a lip (13a, 14a) to be jammed between the profile frame (1) and a cover panel (11) which edges the outside of the profile frame (1) and is attached to said profile frame (1), wherein said seal is supported at the rear by the profile frame (1), which is profiled accordingly, so that the closing force which is exerted on said profile seal (13, 14) by the door (T1, T2) or flap can be absorbed.

  • Publication number: 20060106189
Abstract: A process for the preparation of stable aqueous polycarbodiimide dispersions, to be used as crosslinking agent, which are free of organic solvents is described. Sid process is characterized in: reacting a polyisocyanate in the presence of a carbodiimide catalyst to form a polycarbodiimide, terminating and/or chain extending the polycarbodiimide chain by the addition of formation dispersion of the resulting compound in water, wherein pH is adjusted to a value between 9 and 14 by the addition of a base and/or a buffer to the water used for the dispersion and/or to the obtained aqueous dispersion. According to the present process said terminating or chain extending with the compound containing a hydrophylic group and one or more amine functions may also occur during or after the dispersion of the polycarboiimide in water. The preferred pH of the polycarbodiimide dispersions is between 11 and 13.

  • Patent number: 6976290
Abstract: An inventive hinge has the ability to be biased toward open and closed positions and/or is adapted to be hidden in door assemblies. The hinge includes a first bracket adapted to be mounted to a first workpiece. The first bracket comprises a generally tubular sleeve and opposed spaced-apart surfaces including first openings that are aligned with each other. A second bracket is adapted to be mounted to a second workpiece. The second bracket comprises opposed spaced-apart surfaces including second openings that are aligned with each other. The first bracket and the second bracket are oriented with respect to each other effective to align the first openings with the second openings. A hinge pin is received in the first and second openings effective to enable the first bracket to be pivotally movable relative to the second bracket. The tubular sleeve extends from the first bracket generally parallel with an axis of the hinge pin.
