  • Patent number: 6524408
Abstract: To produce sheet steel components optimised for loading, a steel strip is cast between two cooled rolls with a variable nip and the thickness of the steel strip is changed by changing the time of contact between the strand shells and the rolls or by changing the cooling intensity of the rolls on the molten steel cast into the gusset formed by the rolls, thereby changing the thickness of the steel strip. Such a strip has a homogeneous structure and can subsequently be given a special quality by hot or cold rolling for its particular purpose of use.

  • Patent number: 6524400
Abstract: A process for the production of grain-oriented electric quality sheet by melting a silicon steel and casting the melt continuously into a strand having a thickness of 25-100 mm. During solidification the strand is cooled to a temperature above 700° C. and divided into thin slabs. The thin slabs then pass through an equalization furnace standing in line where they are reheated to a temperature ≦1170° C. and continuously rolled in a multi-stand hot rolling mill to give hot strip having a thickness of ≦3.0 mm. The first shaping pass is performed at a temperature in the rolling stock up to 1150° C. The reduction in thickness is at least 20%. The hot strip is cold rolled in one or more stages with recrystallizing intermediate annealing to a final thickness in the range of 0.15-0.50 mm. The cold strip is then annealed with recrystallization and decarburization, furnished with a predominantly MgO-containing annealing separator and given a final annealing for imprinting a Goss texture.

  • Patent number: 6516728
Abstract: In a travelling trolley assembly, the two side frame bars (6, 7) which extend on either side of the running rail (2) are connected to one another via two connecting columns (8). The connecting columns (8) are smooth and cylindrical on the outside are fitted into receiving or sliding-guidance devices which are formed in the side frame bars (6, 7) below the running rail (2). In order to adjust the distance between the two side frame bars (6, 7) and to fix the distance which has been set, receiving devices, through which a threaded rod (46) which is parallel to the connecting column (8) passes, are situated in the vicinity of the connecting columns (8). The distance is adjusted and fixed with the aid of screw threads (94, 95), preferably lock nuts, which rest on the connecting rod (46). This type of fixing arrangement does not damage the shape of the guide columns (8), so that dismantling is easy to carry out at any time.

  • Patent number: 6497400
Abstract: In a rope hoist (9), the output shaft (37) of the gearing (19) is provided in one piece with an end plate (57). This end plate (57) is designed in such a way that it can be inserted into a locating seat (66) of the tubular rope drum (17). The end plate (57) is screwed in the rope drum (17) by means of radial fitting screws (72). There is also a recess (67) at the other end of the rope drum (17), and a similar end plate (75) can be fastened in this recess (67) in the same manner. This other end plate carries a bearing journal (76). On account of this arrangement, the manufacture of the rope drum (17) and the entire assembly are simplified, complicated shaft joints between the output shaft (37) and the rope drum (17) being dispensed with on account of the mounting of the rope drum (17) by means of the output shaft (37) of the gearing (19). In addition, the rope hoist (9) may be split up into comparatively small subassemblies for dispatch.

  • Patent number: 6494360
Abstract: An apparatus to produce straight bead welded tubes from flat sheet metal blanks with two parallel longitudinal edges includes two form tool halves. The two form tool halves have outer cylindrical half shells borne by a tool support, and are disposed laterally inverted in relation to one another. They are moved towards one another and out of an opened receiving position for the sheet metal blanks into a closed position, in which the two longitudinal edges are held together by the two form tool halves. The apparatus also includes a welding device, which moves over the two form tool halves along the two longitudinal edges retained in a welding position. The two form tool halves have cylindrical internal mandrel halves which are fixedly associated with the outer cylindrical half shells and which cooperate with the outer cylindrical half shells to produce form gaps for insertion of the sheet metal blanks.

  • Patent number: 6461450
Abstract: A process for controlling the layer weight during the phosphating of steel strip zinc-coated on one or both sides, using a phosphating solution which contains 1 to 6 g/l zinc ions and 10 to 30 g/l phosphate ions, characterized in that a Fe(II) ion content within the range of 3 to 100 mg/l is established in the phosphating solution. The higher the Fe(II) content, the lower is the layer weight. An alteration in the Fe(II) content of 3 to 20 mg/l results in an alteration in the layer weight of about 0.1 g/m2.
