Abstract: A method of weeding a design in a substrate have a first layer and a second layer is disclosed. The method determines an outline of the design and an inlet portion of the outline. The inlet portion is defined on at least a first and second side by the outline of the design and is open on at least a third side. The method cuts through the first layer but not the second layer along at least a portion of the outline that is not included in the inlet portion. The method also cuts through both the first and second layers along the inlet portion of the outline. The method also cuts through both the first and second layers along a path that closes the third side of the inlet portion.
Abstract: A three-layered composite has the form of a metal sheet or strip. A first core layer having a first steel material forms a composite central layer. A second plating layer has a second steel material different from the first steel material. A third plating layer has a third steel material different from the first steel material. The second and third plating layers are roll-plated onto opposite sides of the core layer and form the outer two composite layers. While the composite thickness remains the same, the first steel material thickness varies over the width of the composite. The first steel material extends, and can be press-hardened, continuously over the entire width of the composite material. The second and/or third steel materials, in the plating-layer thickness, follow the variation of the core-layer thickness in opposite directions and have a carbon content lower than that of the first steel material.

Abstract: A method for producing an electric strip laminate wound into a coil is disclosed, in which at least two metallic electric strips that are electrically insulated from each other are integrally bonded to form an electric strip laminate and in another step, are wound into a coil. In order to ensure a reproducible method, the invention proposes that the electrical strips, which are each electrically insulated on at least one flat side with a baked enamel layer, be joined to each other by means of baked enamel layers facing each other and be integrally bonded to form an electric strip laminate by activating the chemical cross-linking of the two baked enamel layers.
Abstract: A flame arrester comprising two part-bodies, which consist of different wire fabric layers and are connected to one another by an intermediate layer of particularly coarse-meshed wire fabric. The coarse-meshed wire fabric preferably consists of a thick wire. Both the wire diameter and the mesh width of this intermediate layer are preferably much greater than the mesh widths and wire diameters of the wires used for the part-bodies. The pressure relief body combines a high degree of mechanical stability with a great flame arresting capability and at the same time very low flow resistance.
Abstract: A housing arrangement comprising a housing wall with internal cavities which contribute to relieving the pressure in the interior and to increasing the deformation resistance of the housing. A housing of this kind can be designed to be large in volume yet light in weight.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a hardened, steel component with regions of different hardness and/or ductility; a blank is stamped out and either heated in some regions to a temperature ?Ac3, and then transferred to a forming die, is formed, and is cooled at a speed that is greater than the critical hardening speed and thus hardened or is cold formed into the finished shape and the formed blank is heated in some regions to a temperature >Ac3 and then transferred to a hardening die and is hardened at a speed greater than the critical hardening speed; the steel material is adjusted in a transformation-delaying fashion so that a quench hardening through transformation of austenite into martensite takes place at a forming temperature that lies in the range from 450° C. to 700° C.; after the heating and before the forming, an active cooling takes place at >15 K/s.

Abstract: A plug-in device which has a blocking sleeve, which divides the plug-in operation between the plug and the socket into two path sections. In a first path section, before the electrical contact is established, explosion-proof encapsulation of the plug and the socket is brought about. The plug and the socket are initially temporarily locked in this position and further insertion is blocked. Further insertion is not enabled until the sleeve is rotated relative to the socket housing and the plug housing. Once this has occurred, the second path section can be run through, in which the electrical contact is established.
Abstract: A housing arrangement comprising a housing an inner space for accommodating components capable of forming sources of ignition. The housing arrangement further comprises a partial housing arranged in or on the housing and the interior space. The interior space acts as a pressure relief volume. The interior space and the pressure relief volume are connected together via a passage in which a gas-permeable and flame-arresting arrangement is provided. This can be formed from a porous body, for instance, which is gas permeable and acts in a throttling and cooling manner on a gas flow passing through it.
Abstract: A pressure relief body sintered from a wire mesh and retained on an explosion-proof housing by welding. The corresponding welded seam has a fusion zone both on the pressure relief body and on the housing part and makes a mechanically robust and gas-tight joint between the two.
Abstract: A housing with an inner lining, made of an open-pore material, preferably covering at least two sides of the housing, for the reduction of internal explosion pressure. In addition, or alternatively, a molded body made of the open-pore material, for example a bonded fibrous material, may be arranged in the housing.
Abstract: A method for heating a blank or a preformed steel sheet component for hot forming and/or quench hardening purposes. In at least some regions, the heating is carried out to a temperature above AC3; the heating of the blank is embodied as a rapid heating and to this end, the blank is heated in a first zone at an average heating rate of >25 K/s up to about 600° C. and above this temperature, is heated at an average heating rate of >10 K/s up to a maximum of the AC3 temperature and then is transferred to a second zone in which the blank that has been preheated in the first zone is heated in at least some regions to temperatures greater than AC3, in particular >850° C., with the heating rate in the second zone being >10 K/s. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method.

Abstract: The invention relates to flame protection filters (F) consisting of a number of layer sequences (S1, S2, S3), wherein each of the layer sequences (S1, S2, S3) consists of filter layers (1, 2) arranged one on top of the other. Every layer sequence (S1, S2, S3) consists of a first filter layer (1) and a second filter layer (2) made from a material arranged in the shape of a grating with openings (1.1, 2.1) having an opening width (1.11, 2.11) in each instance. The first filter layer (1) having a free lateral surface (6.3) is a first end filter layer (3) with a first end filter opening width (3.11) and the second filter layer (2) having a free lateral surface (6.4) is a second end filter layer (4) with a second end filter opening width (4.11). The second opening width (2.11) of a second filter layer (2) is smaller than the first opening width (1.11) of a first filter layer (1). The second filter layer (2) is opaque.
Abstract: A metal strip and a coil coating process for multilayer coating of an endless metal strip are disclosed in which a curable polymer primer is applied to a flat side of the metal strip with the aid of a roller application in order to form an electrically insulating primer layer, a curable polymer varnish is applied to this primer layer with the aid of a roller application and cured in order to form an electrically insulating: varnish layer, and at least one electric conductor layer is printed at least in some areas between the primer layer and the varnish layer. In order to enable a stable and inexpensive electrical functionalization of a metal strip, it is proposed that an electrically polarizable layer be applied to at least some regions of the electric conductor layer and that the electric conductor layer and electrically polarizable layer be applied by means of a wet-in-wet process.
