Abstract: An on-line value bearing item (VBI) printing system that includes one or more cryptographic modules and a central database is disclosed. The cryptographic modules are capable of implementing the USPS Information Based Indicia Program Postal Security Device Performance Criteria and other required VBI standards. The modules encipher the information stored in the central database for all of the on-line VBI system customers and are capable of preventing access to the database by unauthorized users. Additionally, each cryptographic module is capable of providing audit support functions that enable secure logging of all sensitive actions.
Abstract: The present invention provides apparatus, systems and methods that apply to a single particular billing method selected by each of a plurality of users, in response to each particular user's request, a set of billing method rules for each carrier of a plurality of carriers and determines whether or not each carrier of the plurality of carriers supports the shipper's specified preferred billing method, and if so, any special pricing considerations for each particular Carrier. Each user of the present invention accesses the present invention over a global communications network using a client computer device, each user client computer device having an individual electronic connection to the global communications network.

Abstract: A fluorescent strip window envelope for use with PC postage printed inserts. The envelope has a front wall and a rear wall, a top edge, a bottom edge, a right edge and a left edge. The envelope has a postage indicia window formed in the front wall in an upper right hand region thereof. The envelope is sized to accommodate at least three tri-folded sheets of standard sized letter paper sheets or a standard business courtesy envelope as inserts such that when the insert is inserted into the envelope there is less than about a 5% skew of the insert relative to the envelope and to expose the postage indicia printed on the insert. The envelope is free of FIM marks, and in lieu thereof has fluorescent strips printed on the right side top edge and the upper right side edge of the envelope.

The software stored on the central rental facility is integrated with the header software to provide a security feature.
Abstract: A sheet having at least one self-adhesive special purpose label arrangement set having a postage indicia label, and preferably a sender label and also preferably an addressee label, and a process for printing these special purpose label arrangement sets. The postage indicia label printed by the process is sized and shaped so that it can be applied to a variety of mail pieces, including mail pieces that have FIM patterns, and the printed postage indicia label can be applied to an upper right hand corner of a mail piece without encroaching on the FIM pattern. The invention also provides a process for printing the self-adhesive special purpose label arrangement set with postage indicia, sender information, and addressee information.

Abstract: A system and method for certified transmission of an electronic document, as verified by the generation of a certification indicia. Three embodiments of the system and method are disclosed, providing for the certified transmission of a document through an independent certification device or for direct transmission from a sender to a recipient. Furthermore, the resulting certification indicia may be generated by an independent certification device or by a portable processor at the sender or receiver's location.
Abstract: A sheet having at least one self-adhesive special purpose label arrangement set having a postage indicia label, an addressee label, and a sender label, wherein the maximum printable area of the sheet is made available for the labels, and a process for printing these special purpose label arrangement sets. In the process, a computer system with a printer is provided. A postage computer program for preparing and printing the labels is provided, and information concerning the addressee, the sender, and a mail piece to be mailed and how it is to be mailed is inputted into the postage computer program. The postage computer software will interface with and direct the printer to print the label set with the postage indicia, the addressee information, and sender information, preferably in a single pass through the printer. The postage value can be obtained via the Internet or in other manners.
