  • Patent number: 4704032
Abstract: A rotation rate measuring instrument is disclosed in which two light beams propagate through a coiled optical fiber in opposite directions. After passing through the optical fiber, the two light beams are combined and directed onto a photodetector. One of the light beams is phase-modulated in a phase-modulator before entering the optical fiber. The modulation frequency is f.sub.m. The output signal of the photodetector is fed to a variable-gain amplifier whose output signal is separated into a signal of frequency f.sub.m and a signal of frequency 2f.sub.m. The rotation rate is derived from the signal of frequency f.sub.m. The signal of frequency 2f.sub.m is applied to a detector whose output is fed to an operational amplifier. The other signal applied to the operational amplifier is a reference signal of amplitude U.sub.R. The operational amplifier controls the gain of the variable-gain amplifier in such a way that the output signal of the detector has the same amplitude as the reference signal U.sub.R.

  • Patent number: 4704031
Abstract: A rotation rate measuring device is disclosed in which two beam portions travel around an optical-fiber coil (6) in opposite directions, and in which the Sagnac phase difference between the two beam portions after passage through the optical-fiber coil is evaluated. A beam splitter (2) divides a light beam into the two beam portions. Between this beam splitter and one end of the optical-fiber coil (6), an additional beam splitter (4) is inserted which is followed by a spatial filter (13) and a frequency shifter (5). Also provided are means which ensure that the two beam portions which travel around the optical-fiber coil in opposite directions pass through the spatial filter and the frequency shifter by the same path. A fully reciprocal arrangement is thus obtained.

  • Patent number: 4688089
Abstract: To detect horizontally moving portions of a TV frame formed from two adjacent fields, the vertical local frequency at a vertical edge of the moving portion of the picture is measured with a narrow-band-pass filter circuit which is tuned to the local frequency of the comblike structure at ta vertical edge of staggered lines of the two fields of the frame. • Patent number: 4686671
Abstract: A communication system with fixed stations (FS), mobile stations (MS), and control stations (LS) is disclosed in which the control stations are interconnected by transmission paths and have additional, closed transmission paths connected to them. In the transmission paths, the fixed stations (FS) are arranged in series. Communication is on a time-division-multiplex basis. • Patent number: 4672629
Abstract: A receiver for bandspread signals having a pseudo-random code stored in the receiver for synchronization with a pseudo-random code (PRC) of a received and modulated signal for recovering the modulation utilizing control loops. The modulated carrier signal is frequency converted, digitized and then multiplied by the stored PRC. The signal provided is sampled at twice the rate at which the PRC is read out of memory and provided to a counter forming I and Q signals from the counter output values in the control loops for determining a plurality of controlled variables required for synchronization and demodulation.

  • Patent number: 4663561
Abstract: Hold members are used for abutting a shadow mask on the pins in the rim portion of the faceplate of a color picture tube. These hold members are of a two-part design and connected to one another with the aid of means permitting a transverse movement in relation to the axis of symmetry of the color picture tube. These means may consist either of a swivel joint or of a straight line motion device. During the first insertion of the shadow mask into the faceplate, any possible tolerances of the pins can be compensated for because the possible transverse movement of the hold members. The spacing between the shadow mask and the phosphor screen is not affected.

  • Patent number: 4654567
Abstract: The blocking protection arrangement includes a first transistor whose emitter-collector path lies in the base voltage supply of second and third switching transistors performing commutation. The first transistor receives its base voltage from a self-induction voltage of a stator winding. In the event of a blocking of a motor, this voltage is missing, so that the first transistor is rendered nonconductive.
