Abstract: A clock generator circuit that produces clock signals at the logic signal transitions at an output in response to a sinewave input control signal derived from an oscillator includes a delay means connected in one of the inverter-amplifier stages to prevent unwanted noise-induced logic transitions at the output, thereby to reduce significantly the adverse effects of oscillator and power supply noise on the clock output signal.
Abstract: A document dispenser incorporating multiple security levels of operation wherein dispenser operation in the operator mode is permitted when a valid operator passcode is entered at a passcode entry device, and wherein operation in the executive mode is permitted when the presence of a valid transportable security key is detected by a security key receiver.

Abstract: A tire tread that is applicable to retread a worn tire carcass. The tire tread includes a cured tread portion having a first shoulder and a second shoulder. A first uncured wing portion extends from the first shoulder and a second uncured wing portion extends from the second shoulder. Further, an end section at each end of the tire tread portion is uncured. When the tire tread is wrapped around the tire carcass to be formed to the tire carcass and form a tire retread, the first and second wing portions extend down the side walls of the tire carcass and the uncured end sections of the tire tread contact each other. The tire carcass is placed within an autoclave, and the autoclave is heated under pressure such that the tire tread is cross-linked to the tire carcass. During the autoclaving step, the uncured wing portions are cured and cross-linked to the side walls of the tire carcass, and the uncured end portions are cured and cross-linked to each other.
Abstract: Round bottles are moved between side walls in a tightly packed configuration by an underlying conveyor in a packaging line that requires the bottles to be divided into a plurality of side-by-side lanes for entry into the packer. The divider has selectively movable panels that normally form a divergent funnel for the bottles to allow them to expand and to move into the lanes. Void detectors in each of the outside lanes provide a signal to move one or both panels outwardly to clear a jam of bottles in the funnel. After a delay, the panels return slowly to their normal positions where they remain until the void detectors signal another jam in the funnel.
Abstract: A refrigeration system employing a screw compressor and a falling film evaporator makes use of high-side pressure to drive lubricant, which escapes the compressor and collects as a lubricant-rich mixture of lubricant and refrigerant in the system evaporator, back to the compressor. The mixture is cyclically exposed to high-side pressure for a period of time which (i) varies in accordance with the difference between a sensed condenser-related pressure and a sensed evaporator-related pressure and (ii) is calculated to maintain a predetermined oil concentration in the lubricant-rich mixture in the evaporator so as to minimize the parasitic losses to system efficiency associated with the oil return process.
Abstract: A facing fabric (10) for a reusable incontinent product (40) having a pair of multi-filament ground yarn sets (14, 16) interknitted together with a warp knit third set of yarns (18) which define loops (22) on one face of the fabric (10) in a warp knit three bar construction. The loop-facing yarns (18) are unnapped, multi-filament polyester with a denier of about 150 to 300 denier in a range of about 1 to 5 denier per filament, and advantageously about 48 filaments when the denier is about 150 and about 132 filaments when the denier is about 300. A barrier layer (46) may be added to the fabric (10) to create the reusable incontinent product (40).
Abstract: A business form construction containing a removable label is provided. The construction includes a substrate having a window therein, a liner ply adhered to the substrate which covers the window, and at least one label which is adhered to the liner ply. The liner ply is adhered to the substrate by a pressure sensitive adhesive which is on either the periphery of the liner ply or on the periphery of the window of the substrate. The label may be adhered to the liner ply by a pressure sensitive adhesive or a releaseable adhesive. A preferred method of making the construction includes die-cutting a window in the substrate, applying a pattern of adhesive on the substrate around the periphery of the window, and placing the liner ply carrying the label on the substrate.
Abstract: A flange cover for attachment to a vehicle includes a core member having a plurality of apertures therein. An elastomeric skin is disposed about the core member. Within the elastomeric skin is a longitudinally extending hollow cavity having an interior and an exterior edge, the interior edge being located between the core member and the exterior edge. A longitudinally extending rib projects from the exterior edge of the hollow cavity toward the interior edge of the hollow cavity.
Abstract: A multipart form and label combination is provided which may be printed on both sides with variable and nonvariable information. The combination includes a face ply and a bottom ply, each of which include a pressure sensitive adhesive and a release agent coated on respective portions of their second surfaces. The face ply and bottom ply are adhered to one another such that a portion of the adhesive-coated surface of each ply is coextensive with the release agent-coated surface of the other ply. Each ply also includes a label portion which is removable from the combination. In a preferred embodiment, the multipart form and label combination is used as a packing list incorporating shipping and return labels.

Abstract: A process for austempering ductile iron includes austenitizing a ductile iron casting of low alloy content followed by quenching the workpiece for a controlled period of time in a quench medium such as water, an aqueous polymer solution or a medium speed quench oil. The workpiece is then austempered in an air tempering furnace, resulting in a ausferrite microstructure essentially free of pearlite and martensite, and with mechanical properties meeting ASTM designation A897-90 "Standard Specification for Austempered Ductile Iron Castings." The process eliminates the need for a molten salt bath for quenching and tempering.
Abstract: An envelope intermediate having an integral mail-back piece is provided. The intermediate is formed form a single sheet of substrate material divided into four panels by fold lines. A first and second ply is provided in two adjacent panels so that when the intermediate is folded, a mail-back piece is created. The mail-back piece may be either a two-ply card or envelope. Provisions for a removable partition are also included.
Abstract: A thermostat includes a valve movable from a closed position to an open position to permit fluid flow through a conduit in an engine. The valve is formed to include a vent opening defined by a wall. The thermostat also includes an actuator for selectively opening and closing the valve, an elastomeric material located on the valve covering the wall defining the vent opening, and a jiggle pin located in the vent opening.
Abstract: A comprehensive power-on-reset (POR) and low voltage detection circuit combines a Power Supply Voltage Level Detection (PSVLD) circuit with an Enhanced Retriggering (ER) circuit. The PSVLD circuit establishes lower and upper thresholds of the desired operating voltage range, and provide initial POR triggering and retriggering when the supply voltage is within the desired range. The ER circuit senses a predetermined amount of drop in the power supply voltage being monitored, and generates an independent pulse at the POR node whenever such a drop occurs. Total DC current is limited to less than 2.5 microamps, while power supply voltages can be monitored for stability over the range of 2.5 to 5.5 volts.
Abstract: A method of operating a heat pump or air conditioner system is provided. The air conditioner comprises a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, a cooling coil and an air mover (blower). According to the preferred embodiment, the air mover (blower) is activated at a time after the compressor has been activated to pre-cool the cooling coil and allow for more efficient and effective moisture removal. Also, deactivation of the air handler is delayed for some time after the compressor is deactivated to allow for utilization for the residual cooling ability of the cooling coil due to the presence of cold refrigerant in the cooling coil when the compressor is deactivated.

Abstract: A pinch welt for trimming a flange formed on a vehicle body panel is disclosed. The welt includes a rigid insert made of a thermoplastic or synthetic rubber material that is compatible with the material of an outer decorative layer of the welt so as to allow the pinch welt to be readily recyclable as a single unit after use. The material of the insert has a resilience that allows the welt to be readily secured to the flange in a resilient manner. The insert is shaped by cooperating continuous forming rolls in an extrusion process that provides oppositely extending tines in which a thin webbing is formed between the tines.
Abstract: A device for monitoring and modulating the admission of fresh air into a building. The device comprises a housing; a sensor associated with the housing and operable to measure airflow through the housing; and a damper including at least two damper blades. Each damper blade includes a shaft rotatably attached to the housing at least at a first shaft end. The shaft is located on the surface of the damper blade so as to divide the surface into first and second substantially equal areas.
