Abstract: Embodiments include an end effector including an anvil that includes a first end, a second end, and an anvil face positionable on the first side of an anatomical structure, a cartridge operably configured to house a plurality of staples, the cartridge comprising a first end, a second end, and a cartridge face positionable on the second side of the anatomical structure. The end effector includes a blade assembly comprising a blade, a beam, and a nut, the blade comprising a first side and a second side joined at a cutting edge. The end effector includes first and second electrodes coupled to the first side of the blade and an electrosurgical power generating source in electrical communication with the first and second electrodes.

Abstract: A scrubber system may include a scrubber housing including a vertically extended cleaning space, an inflow chamber coupled to a bottom portion of the scrubber housing, and first and second inflow portions, each of which is configured to supply a gas into the inflow chamber. The inflow chamber may include a mixing space, and the mixing space may be connected to the cleaning space. The first inflow portion may include a first connection pipe coupled to the inflow chamber to provide a first connection path and the second inflow portion may include a second connection pipe coupled to the inflow chamber to provide a second connection path. The first and second connection paths may be extended toward the mixing space in opposite directions, respectively, and may be connected to opposite portions of the mixing space, respectively.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to reagents and their use for elemental imaging mass spectrometry of biological samples. The embodiments comprising methods for quantifying one or more analytes within a sample, comprising the steps of: (a) providing the sample, wherein the one or more analytes are immobilized to a sample carrier, wherein the sample has been labelled with one or more mass tags comprising one or more labelling atoms, (b) performing mass cytometry on the sample to determine the level of the one or more labelling atoms, wherein the level of the one or more labelling atoms corresponds to the copy number of the one or more analytes.

Abstract: A method of making a food source or medicinal composition and a mycotecture construction unit includes (a) cultivating a mycelium/substrate composite and edible mushrooms, and (b) manufacturing the mycotecture construction unit. A mycelium inoculum is formed of a preselected fungus and used to inoculate a substrate. Mycelium are grown in the inoculated substrate in a growing column and edible mushrooms are harvested from the mycelium, leaving a mycelium-substrate composite. The manufacture of the mycotecture construction unit includes placing the mycelium-substrate composite into a modular, reconfigurable press having a cavity with a predetermined shape; pressing the mycelium-substrate composite at a predetermined pressure; and heating the mycelium-substrate composite in a heating chamber.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a CIELAB color space-based quantitative testing and analysis method for rice seed viability, and the method comprises removing husks on surfaces of rice seeds, soaking and imbibing the rice seeds without the husks removed, staining the rice seeds by using a TTC staining solution, and longitudinally cutting the rice seeds along embryos; converting the longitudinal section image of the rice seed from an RGB color space to a CIELAB color space, and calculating L value, a value and b value per unit area of the rice embryo as a staining intensity per unit area, and converting the staining intensity into a rice seed viability score according to a pre-established conversion model of the staining intensity and the rice seed viability score. According to the present invention, a reference result can be provided for the rapid, accurate and objective evaluation of the seed viability.

Abstract: An end effector for use by a surgeon to staple an anatomical structure of a patient during a surgical procedure includes an anvil and a cartridge. The anvil has an anvil face and a first staple pocket defined by the anvil face, where the first staple pocket comprises a first cup and a second cup for staple formation. The cartridge has a first staple, the first staple having a first open leg with a first tip, a second open leg with a second tip, and a first crown coupling the first open leg and the second open leg, and a first driver. The first staple, once deployed by the first driver and deformed by the first staple pocket, comprises the first tip and the second tip crossing the first midline axis of the first crown in a formed configuration.

Abstract: A connector and a process for coupling a tube to another device is disclosed. The connector comprises receptacle for receiving an endform formed on an end of the tube. The receptacle includes a socket mated to a modular head. A retainer embraces the receptacle and has leg portions extending into a modular head opening. Guiding components located in the modular head opening and on the endform direct the endform through the modular head opening to the socket and into a locking relationship with the retainer.

Abstract: A quick connector is disclosed comprising a receptacle having first and second channels formed on opposite sides of the exterior of the receptacle. A flange includes a retainer mounting part fixed on a first end of the flange. A first pair of clamping jaws extends from a second end of the flange with each clamping jaw of the first pair of clamping jaws accepted into a respective receptacle first and second channel, clasping the receptacle to the flange. The clamped bracket retainer and receptacle are then guided to have a tube inserted into an interior passage of the receptacle and the bracket retainer is attached to a rigid structure using a fastening arrangement that retains the quick connector receptacle and endform in a connected state.

Abstract: A pump assembly is disclosed comprising, a pump including a pump housing having a fluid inlet. At least one fluid outlet extends from the pump housing. An impeller driven by a motor is mounted in the pump housing arranged to move a fluid from the fluid inlet to the at least one fluid outlet. A valve rotatably mounted between the impeller and the at least one fluid outlet selectively controls the flow of fluid through the at least one fluid outlet.

Abstract: Endodontic instruments for use in performing root canal therapy on a tooth are disclosed. In one form, the instruments include an elongate shank having a cutting edge extending from a distal end of the shank along an axial length of the shank. The shank comprises a titanium alloy, and the shank is prepared by heat-treating the shank at a temperature above 25° C. in an atmosphere consisting essentially of a gas unreactive with the shank. In another form, the endodontic instruments have an elongate shank having a cutting edge extending from a distal end of the shank along an axial length of the shank. The shank consists essentially of a titanium alloy selected from alpha-titanium alloys, beta-titanium alloys, and alpha-beta-titanium alloys. The instruments solve the problems encountered when cleaning and enlarging a curved root canal.

Abstract: A stock lifter for metal forming dies includes a self-contained assembly. The assembly includes a guide pin that reciprocates within a base. A hardened end cap, which contacts the stock, is attached to the guide pin. A spring is located on the exterior surface of a portion of the base and surrounds the guide pin body. One end of the spring contacts a surface on the cap, while the other end of the spring contacts a surface on the base or an optional mounting flange that is attached above the base. Thus, the stock lifter assembly has a hardened cap for the stock to slide on and a larger, externally mounted spring that provides longer life for the stock lifter. The stock lifter assembly can be made of several different lengths and sizes by using longer or wider guide pins and springs.

Abstract: An apparatus and coolant pump for use in a thermal management system includes a pump housing having an inlet for receiving coolant from the thermal management system and at least first and second outlets extending from the pump housing for directing coolant to at least a first and a second coolant loop. An impeller coupled to an electrical pump motor drives the coolant from the inlet to the first or the second outlet. A valve mounted between the impeller and the first and second outlets selectively directs the flow of coolant through the first or the second outlet. A temperature sensor installed on the pump housing inlet measures the temperature of the coolant entering the coolant pump.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a preparation method of ginseng composition with high ginsenoside bioavailability. The composition is composed of ginseng powder of 250 meshes or more and ?-cyclodextrin, and the mass ratio of the ginseng powder to the ?-cyclodextrin is 1:0.05. Results show that when ?-cyclodextrin is used as a solid dispersant and added to the 1000-mesh ginseng powder at a mass ratio of 5%, the total dissolution amount is maximum; and furthermore, animal experiments (SD rats) show that the area under the plasma drug concentration-time curve (AUC0-48 h) after 48 h of ginseng powder ingestion is maximum, indicating that in-vivo bioavailability of the ginseng powder is the highest. The method of this application can effectively inhibit the aggregation of the ultra-finely pulverized 1000-mesh ginseng powder by adding the ?-cyclodextrin, thus significantly improving the total dissolution amount of ginsenoside.

The wiper cap assembly couples to the top of a guide housing and includes a rod wiper that presses against a reciprocating rod within the guide housing. The multi-switch pump assembly comprises a pump body, an electric motor, a rotating motor shaft, a first pump stage and impeller, and a second pump stage and impeller. The first pump stage includes a first inlet and first and second outlets disposed about the pump body. The second pump stage includes a second fluid inlet connected to a mix chamber. The mix chamber further connected to the second fluid outlet of the first pump stage. The second stage further includes a second and a third outlet disposed about the pump body. An actuator connected to a valve assembly is arranged to operate and place the valve assembly into at least a first, a second, a third and a fourth switched positions to direct fluid flow between the first and the second pump stages and the first, second, third and fourth fluid outlets.
