Abstract: An adjustable socket that includes a housing, a rotatable member engageable with the housing such that the rotation of the rotatable member causes the housing to move upwardly or downwardly along the longitudinal axis, an adjusting collar engageable with the rotatable member and the housing, a plurality of jaws, a retainer, and a lock member. Each jaw is received in a corresponding one of apertures of the housing. The lock member is operatively connected with the rotatable member and is constructed and arranged to secure the adjusting collar to the housing and the plurality of jaws. The jaws are movable towards and away from the longitudinal axis of the housing through a range of positions upon the rotation of the rotatable member.
Abstract: A hydraulic power unit comprising a rear face and a front face spaced from one another includes an air inlet configured to receive air into the unit, and an air outlet configured to expel the air received into the unit. The hydraulic power unit further includes controls configured to provide a user interface. The controls and the air inlet are located on the front face, and the air outlet is located on the rear face. A coupler for a hydraulic power unit, configured to couple a drive shaft of the unit to a pump shaft of a hydraulic pump, includes a first aperture configured to receive the drive shaft, a second aperture configured to receive the pump shaft, and a hub configured to be received in a fan. The hub is configured to fixedly couple to the fan so that the fan is driven by the drive shaft.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a laser level system. The laser level system includes a laser level, a quick connect tool mounting bracket, and/or other components. The laser level may be mounted to the quick connect tool mounting bracket in one or more different orientations via a quick connect adapter. The quick connect adapter may be removably coupled with the bracket and/or one or more quick connect mounts supported by one or more external surfaces a housing of the laser level. One or more laser beams generated by the laser level may be controlled via a controller to visually indicate whether the laser level is in a “manual” mode, whether the laser level is in a “self-leveling” mode, and/or whether the laser level is “out of level” while in the “self-leveling” mode. In some embodiments, the laser level system includes a self-leveling mechanism lock.

Abstract: A clamp assembly that can be installed on and removed from its mounting on an elongated structure (e.g., 2×4) without the need for sliding past an end of the structure is disclosed. The clamp assembly may include a pair of clamp bodies with pads for engaging a workpiece. Each of the clamp bodies includes a clamp mount with a movable member arranged to be moved into forced engagement with an exterior surface (e.g., side) of the 2×4 to fix the clamp body on the 2×4. At least one of or both of the clamp bodies include a releasable connection that, when released, allows for the removal of the clamp body from the 2×4 without the need to longitudinally slide the body past an end of the 2×4.

Abstract: A utility knife blade includes a portion made of a first material; and an elongated portion made of a second material, the second material being harder than the first material and coated on the first material by melting a powder of the second material on the first material, the elongated portion forming the tip of the blade, wherein the second material includes tungsten carbide particles embedded in a soft binder, and wherein the size of at least 90% of the tungsten carbide particles is lower than about 5 micrometers.
Abstract: A T-square for measuring and marking a panel comprises a housing; a rule mounted to the housing and arranged to engage a flat surface of a panel; a blade guide for receiving a blade, the blade guide mounted on the rule; and two moveable arms coupled to the housing and arranged to engage an edge of the panel.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a retractable tape rule assembly locking system. The system comprises an elongated tape rule blade, a reel, a biasing spring, a stop assembly, a stop surface, a stop assembly locking device, a housing assembly, and/or other components. The stop assembly is configured to selectively engage the elongated tape rule blade to maintain the elongated tape rule blade in the extended position. The stop assembly is configured to be moveable between a default position and an open position by a user. While in the default position, the stop assembly engages the elongated tape rule blade to prevent retraction of the elongated tape rule blade. The stop surface is associated with the reel and configured to engage the stop assembly to prevent rotation of the reel to retract the elongated tape rule blade.

Abstract: A measuring tape rule device includes a tape rule housing, the housing having a connection portion. The device also includes an axle within the housing, the axle configured to rotate about an axis of rotation. The device also includes a reel within the housing, the reel configured to rotate about the axis of rotation and the axle. The device additionally includes an elongated tape having gradations thereon and wound on the reel. The device further includes a first spring coupled between the axle and the connection portion of the housing, and a second spring coupled between the axle and the reel. Rotation of the reel relative to the housing in a direction tending to tension the second spring transmits rotational movement to the axle through the tensioning of the second spring. Such rotational movement of the axle is applied to the first spring to tension the first spring.
Abstract: A hand-held, battery powered tool (e.g., nutrunner, drill) includes an output head operatively connected to a motor, a plurality of battery cells, an ON/OFF start switch, a resistance sensor that measures a resistance of the output head to movement, and a controller. When the start switch is ON and the resistance sensed by the resistance sensor does not exceed a predetermined shift resistance, the controller automatically connects the plurality of battery cells to each other and the motor in series. When the start switch is ON and the resistance sensed by the resistance sensor exceeds the predetermined shift resistance, the controller automatically connects the plurality of battery cells to each other in parallel and to the motor.
