  • Patent number: 11869089
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for analyzing a vehicle trip is presented. The method may include obtaining a wireless communication address of a vehicle of an insured driver. One or more processors may determine whether the wireless communication address corresponds to one of one or more known vehicles associated with an insured driver. Responsive to determining that the wireless communication address corresponds to one of the one or more known vehicles associated with the insured driver, the one or more processors may collect a plurality of vehicle telematics data during the vehicle trip. The one or more processors may also analyze the plurality of vehicle telematics data to determine at least one driving behavior of the insured driver.

  • Patent number: 11869328
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying a condition associated with an individual in a home environment are provided. Sensors associated with the home environment detect data, which is captured and analyzed by a local or remote processor to identify the condition. In some instances, the sensors are configured to capture data indicative of electricity use by devices associated with the home environment, including, e.g., which devices are using electricity, what date/time electricity is used by each device, how long each device uses electricity, and/or the power source for the electricity used by each device. The processor analyzes the captured data to identify any abnormalities or anomalies, and, based upon any identified abnormalities or anomalies, the processor determines a condition (e.g., a medical condition) associated with an individual in the home environment. The processor generates and transmits a notification indicating the condition associated with the individual to a caregiver of the individual.

  • Patent number: 11869092
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring use and determining risks associated with operation of a vehicle having one or more autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, operating data may be recorded during operation of the vehicle. This may include information regarding the vehicle, the vehicle environment, use of the autonomous operation features, and/or control decisions made by the features. The control decisions may include actions the feature would have taken to control the vehicle, but which were not taken because a vehicle operator was controlling the relevant aspect of vehicle operation at the time. The operating data may be recorded in a log, which may then be used to determine risk levels associated with vehicle operation based upon risk levels associated with the autonomous operation features. The risk levels may further be used to adjust an insurance policy associated with the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11869238
Abstract: A method and system for improving damage assessment by automatic measurement of virtual objects within an augmented reality (AR) representation of a physical environment are disclosed. A user interacts with a mobile computing device to position and resize virtual objects within a virtual space corresponding to a physical environment, which is presented to the user as an AR environment generated by the mobile computing device. The virtual objects are positioned and sized to match damaged physical objects within the physical environment. The sizes of the physical objects are automatically determined using the virtual sizes of the virtual objects, which physical sizes are further used to determine the extent of damage.

  • Patent number: 11860772
Abstract: Test cases written to test a software application can be dynamically distributed among different sets of test cases that can be executed simultaneously in different parallel threads, thereby speeding up testing relative to executing the test cases sequentially in a single thread. To avoid database conflicts that may occur when different test cases in different parallel threads attempt to access the same database simultaneously, testing of the software application can be performed in association with a record-locking database that locks database records individually instead of locking entire database tables or locking data structures that are larger than individual records. Locking individual database records can reduce and/or eliminate the chances that a test case in one parallel thread will be unable to access a record in the database because another test case in another parallel thread is simultaneously accessing the same database.

  • Patent number: 11861730
Abstract: Methods and systems for maintaining a distributed ledger and/or blockchain of transactions and/or events pertaining to autonomous vehicles and/or smart contracts are provided. One or more processors may monitor one or more sensors associated with an autonomous vehicle. Based upon the outputs of the sensors, a change in condition of the autonomous vehicle may be detected. The condition may relate to operation, or an operational state of the vehicle and/or a condition associated with a smart contract. The processors may generate a transaction describing the detected change in the condition of the vehicle. The transaction may be transmitted to an enforcement server. As a result, an up-to-date ledger of autonomous vehicle and/or smart contract transactions and/or events may be maintained.

  • Patent number: 11861729
Abstract: A shared ledger operated by a group of network participants according to a set of consensus rules manages and resolves subrogation claims between a clamant and a defendant with arbitration. Evidence regarding the value of the subrogation claim is sent to the shared ledger by the parties to the subrogation claim such as sending data to a smart contract deployed on the shared ledger. The parties to the subrogation claim or entities that are not parties to the subrogation claim may broadcast data relating to fault to the blockchain. The data relating to fault may be evaluated by the parties or entities acting on the parties' behalf to determine fault. A fault determination may be broadcast to the blockchain based upon the analysis of the data relating to fault. Once the claim is resolved, arbitrator may release funds on the chain to the prevailing party or may accept confirmation that any payments have been made between the parties off-chain.

  • Patent number: 11861926
Abstract: A receipt capture tool residing on a customer mobile device may be initiated when a customer completes an in-store or online purchase. The receipt capture tool may prompt the customer to capture an image of a receipt detailing a purchase and an item (e.g., product or service) purchased. For instance, the photo of a physical receipt may be taken by the mobile device, or an electronic receipt or email detailing the purchasing transmitted from a physical merchant or online merchant server may be stored. Receipt information may be extracted and saved with other information pertinent to the item purchased, including warranty information. If the customer needs to return or repair the item purchased at a future date, the receipt and warranty information may be subsequently accessed via their mobile device. The receipt and warranty information may also be stored in a searchable database to facilitate easy retrieval by the customer.

  • Patent number: 11859620
Abstract: A sump pump system may detect and utilize motion or acceleration of water in sump basins when implementing control of sump pumps. To detect the motion or acceleration, the sump pump system may utilize a sensor that is configured to detect motion or acceleration, such as an accelerometer or gyroscope. The sump pump system may identify a water level in a sump basin based on the detected motion or acceleration, which may be compared to a reading or expected signal from the sump pump system's “typical” sensor (e.g., float switch) that is used to detect one or more water levels. In this manner, the sump pump system may detect a malfunctioning level sensor that is used by the pump to detect high-water and low-water marks at which the sump pump activates and deactivates, respectively.

  • Patent number: 11861715
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating an indication of whether a vehicle crash has occurred is presented. It may be determined whether data output by a base sensor(s) of a mobile computing device indicates that a vehicle crash condition has occurred. An additional sensor(s) of the mobile computing device may begin outputting additional sensor data when the data output by the base sensor(s) indicates that the vehicle crash condition has occurred. The additional sensor(s) may be caused to output the additional sensor data for an amount of time after the additional sensor(s) begins outputting the additional sensor data. An indication of whether a crash of a vehicle has occurred may be generated based on the additional sensor data output by the additional sensor(s) for the amount of time after the additional sensor(s) begins outputting the additional sensor data.
