Abstract: Methods for treating a subject in need thereof are provided which include administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising a protein transduction reagent-modified reprogramming protein to the subject, wherein the protein transduction reagent is non-covalently bound to the reprogramming protein and wherein the protein transduction reagent comprises a cation reagent and a lipid. According to aspects, such methods provide delivery of protein-transduction reagent-modified reprogramming proteins to cancer cells, such as tumor cells, as well as diseased cells of diseased tissues and provide in vivo conversion of diseased cells into normal cells via protein-induced in situ cell reprogramming without administration of nucleic acids to the subject.
Abstract: The invention provides a series of conformationally stable kinase inhibitors, and methods of using the kinase inhibitors. The effect of atropisomerism on kinase selectivity was assessed, finding improved selectivity compared to rapidly interconverting parent compounds.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to digital synchronous circuits that introduce clock skew without requiring clock buffers in a clock network. In one embodiment, the digital synchronous circuit includes a first flip flop and a second flip flop. The first flip flop is synchronized to be transparent and to be opaque in accordance with a first clock signal while the second flip flop is configured such that the second flip flop is synchronized to be transparent and to be opaque in accordance with a second clock signal. However, the second flip flop is configured to generate the first clock signal such that the second flip flop provides the first clock signal in a first clock state in response the second flip flop becoming transparent and provides the first clock signal in a second clock state in response the second flip flop becoming opaque thereby providing a clock skew without clock buffers.

Abstract: A microscale gas breakdown device includes a first surface and a second surface. The first surface and the second surface define a gap distance. The device includes a perturbation on the first surface or the second surface. The perturbation is defined by a height value and a radius value. The device includes a current source or a voltage source configured to apply a current or a voltage across the first surface and the second surface. In response to the current or the voltage being applied, a resulting discharge travels along a first discharge path in response to being exposed to a high pressure and a second discharge path in response to being exposed to a low pressure.

Abstract: Aeromonas hydrophila is a reemerging pathogen of channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus); recent outbreaks from 2009 to 2014 have caused the loss of more than 12 million pounds of market size catfish in Alabama and Mississippi. Genome sequencing revealed a clonal group of A. hydrophila isolates with unique genetic and phenotypic features that is highly pathogenic in channel catfish. Comparison of the genome sequence of a representative catfish isolate (ML09-119) from this virulent clonal group with lower virulence A. hydrophila isolates revealed four fimbrial proteins unique to strain ML09-119. In this work, we expressed and purified four A. hydrophila fimbrial proteins (FimA, Fim, MrfG, and FimOM) and assessed their ability to protect and stimulate protective immunity in channel catfish fingerlings against A. hydrophila ML09-119 infection for vaccine development. Our results showed catfish immunized with FimA, Fim, FimMrfG, and FimOM exhibited 59.83%, 95.41%, 85.72%, and 75.

Abstract: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for reducing Wi-Fi scanning using cellular network to Wi-Fi access point mapping information. In one exemplary method, a mobile communications device receives Wi-Fi and cellular signals and creates or obtains a database of mappings between Wi-Fi access points and cellular network information. The mobile communications device detects signals from base stations in the cellular network. The mobile communications device determines at least one recommended access point from the data derived from the database. The mobile communications device determines whether any Wi-Fi signals are present. In response to determining that at least one Wi-Fi signal is present, the mobile communications device attempts to connect to the at least one recommended access point.
Abstract: The system and method spatially predict the condensation of water and acid from the flue gas in the condensing heat exchanger installed in fossil power plant flue gas treatment system or similar environment. By modifying the operational conditions, the heat exchanger can control rates and areas of condensations. The system and method adjust either the cooling water temperature or the flowrate ratio of flue gas to cooling water to control the condensation rates of water or acids. The system and method also estimate actual coverage areas to apply for anti-corrosive coating onto the tube or duct surfaces to resist corrosion due to acid condensation. The system and method also optimize or customize condensation rates of water and acids in boiler flue gas under operating conditions given at a power plant.

Abstract: A controlled release system for kojic acid having improved stability has been identified. To minimize degradation, kojic acid was incorporated into a hydrolytically degradable polymer (e.g., a polycarbonate-ester)). By synthesizing polymer precursors containing kojic acid-linker-kojic acid chemical structures, versatile monomers were developed that can be used to modulate polymer properties. Additionally the synthetic method lends itself to the development of other polymer systems. Polymers having one or more groups that will yield kojic acid upon degradation of the polymer backbone, as well as methods of use thereof are described.
