  • Patent number: 5322259
Abstract: A proportional magnet valve is provided with which manufacturing tolerances can be equalized and balanced by having an armature with an adjustment member axially adjustable. Consequently it is made possible to adjust every magnet valve that is mass produced so that a predetermined coil current corresponds to a predetermined magnet force and with that corresponding to a predetermined working pressure of a magnet valve. Because of adjustment capability of the armature, no close or narrow manufacturing tolerances must be maintained to permit cost advantageous production of the magnet valve. Also, an exchange of a magnet valve upon wear or damaging thereof is possible in a simple and straight forward manner because the novel magnet valve can be adjusted exactly without difficulty.

  • Patent number: 5203110
Abstract: A safety arrangement for a motor-driven door or gate used to close building ntrances or doorways, in which a vertically movable overhead door consists of one part or a multiple number of parts. An elastically deformable hollow rubber section is provided at the closing edge of the door, and this hollow rubber section has an interior hollow space with first and second ends. At the first end of this hollow space, there is an air pressure-wave receiver signal transformer, whereas an air pressure-wave transmitter is connected to the second end. This transmitter generates a continuous air pressure oscillation having a first pulse duration and a first pulse frequency when the closing edge is freely movable through a path of motion of the door. The continuous oscillation has a second pulse duration which differs from the first pulse duration, and a second pulse frequency differing from the first pulse frequency when the closing edge strikes against an object positioned in the path of motion of the door.

  • Patent number: 4966196
Abstract: A servo-operated multiway valve is disclosed which can be optionally used as both a pressurization valve and a ventilation valve for use with a fluid consuming device. The valve utilizes a valve body to allow fluid communication alternatively between two inlet/vent fluid chambers and an outlet fluid chamber disposed along a central bore, in which the valve body is located. The device utilizes a servo to displace the valve body of the multiway valve. Fluid may be introduced to the valve through either of two inlet/vent chambers, to alternatively allow fluid to flow to the outlet chamber in the resting or the activated mode of the servo. The servo is in fludi communication with the selected inlet chamber at all times, and does not communicate with the selected vent chamber. This is achieved through the use of dual passages, connecting each of the inlet/vent chambers to the servo. Fluid flows from the appropriate inlet chamber to the servo, through the associated passage.

  • Patent number: 4875405
Abstract: A sealing device particularly suitable for sealing pistons of working cylinders and for sealing two machine components which can slide against one another is disclosed. A conventional sealing element consisting of low-friction, but not very elastic material, such as PTFE plastic material, and resting on an elastic support, is used. The cross-section of the sealing element in a direction of the sliding motion is U-shaped and encircles the support. The dimensions of the support and the sealing element are determined such that the support exerts prestress forces on the sealing element which try to bend the rim areas of the sealing element outward against the sliding surface for the sealing element. Consequently, an additional force component, directed toward the sliding surface, results for the pressure force which is exerted on the sealing element by the support and functions as a sealing force.

  • Patent number: 4680436
Abstract: A contactless proximity switch and mounting arrangement for determining the position of a movable member within a cylinder which has two end covers secured on the cylinder by means of a plurality of tie rods, includes a switch housing which secures to one of the tie rods. A contact opening formed in the switch housing has disposed therein, a switch having a pair of contacts and a permanent magnet disposed in a fixed manner. One pole of the permanent magnet is connected to a first contact, while the second pole is disposed in a contacting relation to the cylinder. A second contact is electrically coupled to the cylinder at a position a predetermined distance from where the second pole is disposed. As the movable member, which is constructed of a ferromagnetic material, nears the switch housing, the air gap between the second contact and second pole is bridged and the contacts close indicating the proximity of the movable member to the switch element.
