  • Publication number: 20070217488
Abstract: A correction signal is generated by applying an adjustable gain/attenuation value and an adjustable phase value to a transmission signal sampled on the transmission channel after the transmission frequency transposition. The correction signal is subtracted from the signal present on the receive channel before performing the receiver frequency transposition. Digital information representative of the subtracted signal is generated, and the value of gain/attenuation and the value of phase are adjusted in such a manner as to reduce or minimize the digital information.

  • Patent number: 7259364
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing image sensors on the basis of TFA technology including of an amorphous thin-layer system that has been applied on a crystalline ASIC. The inventive method enables the production of image sensors on the basis of TFA technology, which improve the picture quality at low luminous intensity by reducing the dark currents. The photodiodes in the thin-layer material that are configured as pixels are linked with transistor structures in the crystalline ASIC via back electrodes. The transistor structures have particularly low leakage currents due to implantation technology or optimization of the production process.

  • Publication number: 20070182604
Abstract: A signal resampler carries out a time domain interpolation of an input signal for compensating for frequency offset, such as found in an ADSL system. A sample selector interpolator carries out part of the interpolation and a second, e.g. polynomial interpolator carries out the rest of the interpolation. The time interval between samples being interpolated, can be effectively divided between a sample selector interpolator and a small second, e.g. polynomial interpolator. The complexity of the second, e.g. polynomial interpolator can be reduced or its accuracy increased if it is effectively interpolating over a much smaller time interval. The sample selector interpolator can be an oversampling arrangement, and enable the order of the second, e.g. polynomial interpolator to be reduced. Selected ones of the oversampled samples are fed to the second, e.g. polynomial interpolator to keep the operating frequency lower. A chain of upsamplers can be used to generate the oversampled samples.

  • Patent number: 7254534
Abstract: The speech is sampled in such a way as to obtain successive voice frames each including a predetermined number of samples, and with each voice frame are determined parameters of a code-excited linear prediction model. The parameters include a long-term excitation digital word vi extracted from an adaptive coded directory LTD, and an associated long-term gain Ga, as well as a short-term excitation word cj extracted from a fixed coded directory STD and an associated short-term gain Gc. The product of the long-term excitation extracted word times the associated long-term gain is summed SM with the product of the short-term excitation extracted word times the associated short-term gain. The summed digital word is filtered in a low-pass filter FLCT having a cutoff frequency greater than a quarter of the sampling frequency and less than a half of the latter, and the adaptive coded directory is updated with the filtered word.

  • Patent number: 7254202
Abstract: An incident signal contains a preamble including a training sequence having a series of pulses whose polarity and time shifts are defined by respective polarity code and time-hopping code. A method includes a digital cross-correlation of the received signal with the training sequence. The cross-correlation algebraically sums in accordance with the polarity code windows of the received signal. The starting points of the windows are determined by the time-hopping code. The cross-correlation further includes detecting the end point of the preamble from the result of the digital cross-correlation. When the size of the receiving buffer, i.e., the size of the window is smaller than the number N of samples of each replica of the training sequence, it is particularly advantageous that the digital cross-correlation be performed iteratively in a block-by-block fashion. The computation of each block is split into M slices which are computed by algebraically summing windows N/M samples long.

  • Patent number: 7239687
Abstract: When delivering a broadband service, such as xDSL, without inband POTS, it is necessary to separate the analogue POTS signal and the xDSL signal from each other at both the CO (Central Office) and the CP (Customer's Premises). This can be achieved by using an active POTS splitter. The present invention incorporates test functionality for the line between the CP and the CO, or ONU (Optical Network Unit), in the POTS splitter. This enables two-sided measurements on the line, both during installation and during operation. The measurements are performed at the CO and upon request, or when the test device automatically sends a test message/signal. In this way there is no need for field technicians at the CP side. The POTS splitter can have a unique identity code that is transmitted to the CO each time a test is started, or on receipt of a request from the CO.

  • Publication number: 20070147524
Abstract: The transmission band of an analog signal to be transmitted is notched, including sub-carriers to be modulated from digital modulation coefficients respectively associated with the sub-carriers. The method includes providing an initial digital signal from successive frequency-domain groups each containing the digital modulation coefficients respectively associated to the sub-carriers. The initial signal is filtered with a frequency resolution greater than the frequency resolution of the frequency-domain groups to remove frequencies corresponding to the sub-carriers to be removed. The filtered signal is windowed using a windowing mask having a representation in the frequency-domain including a main lobe and secondary lobes. The power spectrum of the lobes decrease faster than the inverse of the frequency squared.

Abstract: To control a decoding latency, larger blocks are nonequally segmented into smaller ones. The decoding process starts directly after reception of the first small block. The latency is defined by the latency of the last small block decoding. Changing the number of iterations during the turbo-code decoding also permits control of the decoding latency.
