  • Patent number: 7284973
Abstract: The invention provides methods and moulding devices for moulding three-dimensional products from a mass of foodstuff which is suitable for human consumption, in particular from a mass of meat, in particular chicken. The method comprises filling a mould cavity with a portion of the mass under the influence of a filling pressure exerted on the mass and for a filling period via a filling opening associated with the mould cavity, closing the filling opening of the mould cavity and holding the mass in the mould cavity for a fixing period. Then, the mould cavity is opened and the moulded product is removed from the mould cavity. The method uses fixing-pressure-exerting means which are designed to exert a fixing pressure which acts on the mass in the mould cavity after the filled mould cavity has been closed.

Abstract: A method for treating a product suitable for human consumption, in particular a meat product, such as for example slaughtered poultry or parts thereof, in which method:—a large number of products are successively supplied, optionally in groups, to an inspection station; and—each product is subjected to a visual inspection in the inspection station, in such a manner that, for example, a visually detectable defect on the respective product is detected. On the basis of the visual inspection, a decision is made as to whether the respective product should be subjected to a specific additive-addition treatment. The products to be subjected to an additive-addition treatment are successively supplied to an additive-addition station, where the products are successively subjected to an additive-addition treatment and an additive is added to at least one part of the outside of each product or the inside of each product.

  • Patent number: 7249998
Abstract: A method is described for processing poultry, comprising the steps of supplying live poultry, stunning the live poultry in a stunning device, placing the stunned poultry into product carriers advanced along a conveyor, killing the poultry and removing the feathers from the dead poultry in a plucking device. Downstream of the plucking device, the poultry is exposed to an electrical stimulation, an electrical voltage (V1) being applied across the carcass of the poultry. A method is further described for controlling process parameters, especially the time and duration of execution of working steps in a process of mechanized working of slaughtered poultry, the tenderness of a specified meat portion being evaluated prior to a due processing step and, after this evaluation, the important process parameters for the particular processing step being set to an optimal value.

  • Patent number: 7232365
Abstract: In a method and device, an elongate bone is removed from a meat-comprising extremity or part thereof of a slaughter animal. The bone has a first joint end, which forms part of a first joint, and a second joint end, which forms part of a second joint. The bone is taken out of the extremity at the first joint end, a tissue connection between the extremity and the second joint end of the bone substantially being retained. Then, meat is moved away from the bone in the region of the second joint end of the bone as a result of at least a part of the bone being moved in its longitudinal direction with respect to a scraper device towards and in particular beyond the second joint end, and the tissue connection between the extremity and the bone is mechanically broken.

  • Publication number: 20060217051
Abstract: In poultry slaughterhouses, birds arrive in batches. Birds are delivered in holders (2), are unloaded and are connected to carriers (14). The birds are then introduced into the slaughterhouse and slaughtered, after which further processing take place. The supply is variable over the course of time. However, the slaughtering is a continuous process. The present invention evens out the supply variability, so that a uniform stream of birds which is well matched to the continuous process in the slaughterhouse is obtained. A conveyor device (8, 9) having a controllable speed is positioned between the point at which the birds are unloaded from the holders and the point at which the birds are connected to a carrier. The speed of this conveyor device is controlled in such a manner that the number of birds which leaves the conveyor device is substantially uniform. It is also possible to control the speed of unloading.

  • Patent number: 6811802
