  • Patent number: 6928787
Abstract: A banding packing machine capable of inexpensively detecting the end of a band reel, thereby contributing to a reduction in cost. In a banding packing machine having a back pool box in a packing machine body and serving to feed an unused band (B) stored in the back pool box and a band from a band reel, the rotating speed of a touch roller is detected when a required amount of band is being pulled out of the band reel wherein the band is not left in the band reel if the rotating speed is not changed but the rotation is carried out at an almost constant speed, and the tip portion of the band does not arrive at the predetermined position of a band guide arch. Then, the driving operation of a normal rotating roller is stopped based on the decision signal.

  • Patent number: 6915624
Abstract: It is an object to provide an automatic banding packing machine capable of easily removing the ring of a band with a simple structure when idle banding is carried out. When the rear end side of a band is to be pulled back by band pull-back means (84), an amount of the pull-back is detected by detecting means. It is decided that idle banding of the band is carried out when a result of the detection is greater than a preset length and the band is wound around a slide table. Thereafter, the rotation of a cam shaft (41) is temporarily stopped based on a signal, whereby the timing of the pressing to be carried out by a middle presser member, which is operated after melting the superposing portion of the band by means of a heater (36), is delayed in a predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 6848239
Abstract: A band refeeding method in a banding packing machine is disclosed which can prevent the tip portion of a band from being excessively pulled back even if the band is not supplied correctly but is automatically pulled back, and can stay the band in a predetermined position and can successively supply the band to the band guide arch side. A length of a band to be pulled back to an original position by band pull back means is previously detected based on the number of rotations of a touch roller constituting band supply means. In addition, the number of rotations of the touch roller before reaching a predetected set value is detected when the tip portion of the band is pulled back. Then, a rotating speed of a roller of the band pull back means is reduced when the number of rotations is detected. Therefore, the roller of the band pull back means is subsequently rotated at the low speed, thereby pulling back the tip of the band to a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 6817159
Abstract: The distal end of a band remains held after a band-holding step. A band-tightening step is performed by operating a manual tightening switch, thereby driving a drive motor and hence rotating a drive roller under manual control. A band-sealing step and a band-feeding step are automatically and sequentially performed after a tightening stop switch is operated, generating a manual-tightening end signal. It is desirable to use a mode-changing switch for switching an operating mode of the apparatus between an automatic mode and a manual mode. The manual tightening switch and the tightening step are effective in the manual mode and are ineffective in the automatic mode.

  • Patent number: 6637694
Abstract: A brake structure of a band reel in a packing machine in which reliable braking effects can be obtained and responsiveness can be enhanced. A brake arm (15) has a coil spring portion (16) provided on one of its ends and a band passing ring portion (18) provided on the other end is mounted on one of ends of the reel shaft (13). One of ends on the coil spring (16) side in the brake arm (13) is fastened to a fixed member such as a device frame. The diameter of the coil spring portion (16) is reduced to cause the inner peripheral surface of the coil spring portion (16) to closely engage the outer peripheral surface of the reel shaft (13), thereby stopping rotation of the reel shaft by frictional force, when the force for feeding the band is released.

  • Patent number: 6568159
Abstract: With a conventional baling machine, for tying an article resting on a pallet with a band, the article resting on the pallet is required to be placed in a frame of an arch guide. To solve this problem, the present invention provides a baling machine including a main body having a band feeding mechanism, a band bonding mechanism, and a band cutting mechanism; a vertical table (3) to be aligned with an article resting on a pallet; a band guide (7) provided to be drawn out from under the vertical table (3) in a horizontal direction; a support mechanism for supporting the band guide (7) inside the main body allowing it to slide; and wheels (17) provided to the main body, wherein the band guide (7) slides above the ground contact face of the wheels (17).

  • Patent number: 6568158
Abstract: A touch roller can be moved between three positions. In the first position, the touch roller is pressed onto a forward driving roller. In the second position, the touch roller is pressed onto a reverse driving roller with two different forces. In the third position, the touch roller is spaced from both the forward driving roller and the reverse driving roller. When the touch roller is pushed onto the reverse driving roller with a small force, the reverse driving roller pulls back a band and wraps the band around an article to be packed. When the touch roller is pushed onto the reverse driving roller with a large force, the reverse driving roller tightens the band wrapped around an article.
