  • Patent number: 11877755
Abstract: A sagittal saw assembly including a handpiece and a blade assembly. The blade assembly may comprise a static guide bar, a blade and a drive member, that when actuated, oscillates the blade. The blade may further comprise teeth that extend distally from the static guide bar, the teeth adapted to form a kerf in tissue against which the teeth are pressed. The static guide bar may be dimensioned to fit into the kerf formed in the tissue cut by the teeth. The static guide bar may comprise a thickness dependent on a length of the static guide bar. The blade assembly may be configured such that blade may be the only oscillating component of the blade assembly to provide a generally constant mass moment of inertia irrespective of the mass and/or length of the static guide bar.

  • Patent number: 11877832
Abstract: A method and apparatus to non-invasively measure instantaneous blood pressure using pulse wave velocity are disclosed. A measurement component is affixed to a patient proximate to a blood vessel. One or more sensors, such as an ultrasound sensor, is included in the measurement component. The measurement component substantially simultaneously measures the pulse wave velocity of the vessel and the instantaneous blood velocity within the vessel. The measurement component computes the instantaneous blood pressure of the vessel using, for example, the water hammer equation. The one or more sensors may be contained in a disposable patch or collocated with another sensor, such as a patient-monitor sensor, or the like.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus includes a support structure having a patient support deck and a side rail coupled to the support structure. The side rail is movable relative to the support structure. A lock releasably locks the side rail in one or more side rail positions, such as in a raised position and an intermediate position. A manual release is coupled to the side rail and operable to unlock the side rail. A bypass lever is provided to allow a user to raise the side rail from a lowered position to the raised position without locking in the intermediate position. A damper is located inside the side rail to counterbalance the weight of the side rail and assist the user in raising the side rail, bi-directionally. The side rail is formed of first and second walls that are heat staked together to form a lightweight side rail of suitable strength.

  • Publication number: 20240009011
Abstract: An implantable metallic braid is formed out of groups of filaments of a first material, groups of filaments of a second material different from the first material, and groups of filaments of a third material different from the first material and the second material. The filaments are braided together by a braiding machine and are arranged in a starting filament arrangement on the braiding machine before braiding begins, wherein the first material is a radiopaque material, the second material is a support material, and the third material is a DFT comprising the first and second materials. Different arrangements of the filaments in the starting filament arrangement and in the braid result in different levels of detail that can be observed in images of the braid, wherein certain arrangements of the filaments result in enhanced radiopacity without affecting other mechanical properties of the braid.

  • Patent number: 11865051
Abstract: An apparatus includes a hydraulic circuit that is configured to selectively open fluid communication between one portion of the hydraulic circuit and another portion of the hydraulic circuit, such as a reservoir, based on the flow of the hydraulic fluid in the one portion. When the flow of hydraulic fluid exceeds a selected threshold in the one portion of the hydraulic circuit, the flow of fluid urges the opening of a hydraulic component of the hydraulic circuit to allow fluid communication between the one portion and the reservoir to discharge fluid from the one portion.
