Abstract: Methods and systems for characterizing tissue of a subject are disclosed. The method includes retrieving a time series of angiography images of tissue of a subject, defining a plurality of calculation regions, generating a time-intensity curve for each respective calculation region, calculating a rank value for each respective calculation region based on one or more parameters derived from the time-intensity curve; and generating a viewable image in which on the image position of each calculation region an indication is provided of the calculated rank value for that calculation region. Also disclosed are methods and systems for generating first and second time-intensity curves for respective first and second calculation regions, calculating first and second rank values for the respective calculation regions based on first and second pluralities of parameters selected to approximate the respective time-intensity curves, and generating a spatial map of the first and second calculated rank values.

  • Patent number: 11712507
Abstract: A manifold for a medical/surgical waste collection system. An outlet opening and a fitting are in fluid communication with a manifold volume within a housing. The fitting receives a suction line. A filter element with porous features is disposed within the housing such that a fluid communication path is established across the filter element. The porous features trap material entrained within the fluid. A material collection volume is at least partially distal to and below a bottom of the filter element. As the fluid and the material is drawn through the fluid communication path, the material collects within the material collection volume. A flow diverter may be positioned within the housing for directing the material towards the material collection volume. The material collection volume may be at least partially defined by a tissue trap removably coupled to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20230233393
Abstract: A shield assembly for providing a barrier adjacent to a patient disposed on a patient support apparatus. The shield assembly comprises a support frame defining a closed periphery and including a resilient element extending along the closed periphery to resiliently urge the support frame toward a bias frame shape. A barrier panel is coupled to the support frame and spans the closed periphery. The shield assembly may further include a base operatively attached to the support frame to selectively place the support frame in a contour frame shape. Tension in the resilient element effected by the base holding the support frame in the contour frame shape places the barrier panel in a curved configuration to define a patient accommodation space shaped to receive the patient adjacent to the base and to the barrier panel.

Abstract: A surgical manipulator and method of operating the same. The surgical manipulator includes an arm with a plurality of links and joints, wherein an angle between adjacent links forms a joint angle. The arm includes a distal end configured to support a surgical instrument with an energy applicator. At least one controller is coupled to the arm and models the surgical instrument and the energy applicator as a virtual rigid body. The controller(s) determine a commanded pose for the surgical instrument and the energy applicator based on a summation of a plurality of forces and/or torques, wherein the plurality of forces and/or torques are selectively applied to the virtual rigid body to emulate orientation and movement of the surgical instrument and the energy applicator. The controller(s) determine commanded joint angles for the arm that place the surgical instrument and the energy applicator according to the commanded pose.
