  • Patent number: 6846169
Abstract: An inventive mold is adapted to adhere skin materials having a boundary portion and a resin to each other, and is provided with a resin blocking member which is so embedded as to extend substantially along the boundary portion of the skin materials placed in the mold, and a movable member for projecting the resin blocking member from a molding surface. If such a mold is used, a flow of the resin supplied into the mold can be controlled by projecting the resin blocking member to thereby control an arrival timing of the resin at the boundary portion. Thus, displacement of the boundary portion and wrinkling can be securely prevented from occurring.

  • Patent number: 6835340
Abstract: A method for producing a multilayer molded article in which an skin material having nap on the outer surface thereof is integrally molded with a substrate of a synthetic resin, using a mold comprising a pair of male and female mold halves. In this method, after the fabric skin material and the molten resin are clamped in the mold and primary cooling is carried out, the mold is opened halfway to form a predetermined gap between the mold halves, and the molten synthetic resin undergoes secondary cooling and hardens while the mold is held in the half-open state. In the present invention, the time period for the operation to open the mold halfway is set at one second or less. By limiting the half-opening operation time period to the short period of one second or less, recovery of the nap is reliably achieved without the nap tending to stay flattened.

  • Patent number: 6579488
Abstract: The present process includes a mold for producing a thermoplastic resin molded article, comprising paired sliding female and male mold members, which mutually slide at the time of mold closing. A product-forming portion and a non-product-forming portion are provided in the cavity of the mold, the mold further including a resin-supplying opening. A gate portion located at a boundary between the product-forming portion and non-product-forming portion interconnects the two portions. At closing of the mold, the width of the gate at the product-forming side is less than the thickness of the formed product, and stepwise or continuously widens toward the non-product-forming side. Using this mold, a thermoplastic resin molded article, with or without a laminated skin material, can be molded in good efficiency and low cost, further having a non-product-forming portion, which can be readily trimmed from the product-forming portion.

  • Patent number: 6559834
Abstract: A touch panel is constructed of a top sheet member having a resistive membrane on its inner surface and a base sheet member having a resistive membrane on its inner surface, the top and base sheet members facing each other with dot spacers being located in between. The top sheet member is formed by laminating a bulge-resistant film, a polarizing plate, a quarter wavelength plate, and a light isotropic film in this order from above. A PET film which is not heat-treated so as to have a higher thermal contraction rate than the other members of the top sheet member underneath such as the polarizing plate, is used as the bulge-resistant film. Since the bulge-resistant film contracts more than the polarizing plate under a high ambient temperature, after the ambient temperature returns to normal, the bulge-resistant film does not become slack against the polarizing plate. Accordingly, the top sheet member can be kept from bulging outward.
