  • Publication number: 20260202152
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a bolt carrier that optimizes the operation of direct gas operated firearms. The bolt carrier is a cylindrical member that reciprocates longitudinally within an upper receiver of the firearm. A distal end of the bolt carrier supports a bolt while a proximal end moves within a receiver extension. The proximal end includes a boss, flutes, and a beveled ring. The boss and the beveled ring are configured to reduce the tilt of the bolt carrier when in a battery position. Different diameters of the boss and the beveled ring cause the bolt carrier to seat advantageously in various positions within the receiver extension. The flutes allow air transfer into and out of the space between the proximal end and the receiver extension to prevent air pressure from hindering the reciprocating motion of the bolt carrier.

  • Publication number: 20260202153
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a bolt assembly for optimizing the operation of a direct gas operated firearm. The bolt assembly comprises a bolt having a forward recess surrounded by multiple lugs and a side recess. The lugs have a rear angle to reinforce the bolt while the bolt has an increased diameter to prevent a thin web from becoming a crack initiation point that reduces the life of the bolt. An extractor is pivotally mounted in the side recess by way of an extractor pin. The extractor includes an upper surface that is rounded in a circumferential direction to match a curvature of an exterior surface of the bolt. A claw portion of the extractor is spring biased into the forward recess. The extractor includes a lug extending along the upper surface above the claw portion. The extractor pin is configured to loosely seat within the bolt.

  • Publication number: 20260177340
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a relief slot disposed in a barrel to receive a gas block of a direct gas operated firearm. The relief slot comprises a first slot portion on each end of a second slot portion. The first slot portions receive a coil pin to locate and bias the gas block onto the barrel. The second slot portion relieves pressure on a bore inside the barrel by the coil pin. The second slot portion can be milled perpendicularly between the first slot portions or can be cut in a single toolpath that is blended with the first slot portions. The second slot portion generally has a larger size than the first slot portions to form a space between the second slot portion and the coil pin, thereby preventing the coil pin from causing a deformation within the bore.

  • Publication number: 20260177342
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a front plate having a diverging central bore for firearm sound suppressors that improves noise and flash characteristics during firing a weapon. The central bore is disposed between a back surface and a front surface of the front plate. An untapered portion of the central bore extends from the back surface to a diverging portion that opens toward the front surface. The diverging portion includes a curvature profile configured to allow for more controlled expansion of high-pressure propellant gases exiting of the suppressor through the central bore. The curvature profile provides an included angle of the central bore that decreases secondary flash events accompanying the expulsion of propellant gases accompanying a fired bullet exiting the suppressor through the central bore. The curvature profile exhibits a cross-sectional area of the central bore that is proportional to a distance along the diverging portion.

  • Publication number: 20260153295
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are provided for an optimized direct gas operated firearm. The firearm includes an upper receiver coupled with a lower receiver by a tensioning screw that reduces wobble between the upper and lower receivers. A barrel extension is configured to eliminate misalignment during installation into the upper receiver. A bolt carrier includes a reinforced bolt assembly and a forward-biased dwell weight. The bolt assembly includes an extractor and an extractor pin that simplify disassembly of the firearm. A handguard includes locks that attach to a barrel nut area of the firearm. The locks clamp onto the barrel nut area to align the handguard with the upper receiver. An ambidextrous bolt catch release assembly is operable from either side of the lower receiver. A bolt catch release paddle is disposed at the front of a trigger guard to provide easy access from either side of the lower receiver.

  • Publication number: 20260153296
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a cam race for improving the longevity of an upper receiver of a direct gas operated firearm. The cam race provides a hardened slide face and a corner surface for a cam pin comprising a bolt carrier group of the firearm. The cam race is configured to be secured into a window disposed in the upper receiver. The window is surrounded by a counterbored area that receives a back plate of the cam race. The counterbored area and the thickness of the back plate cooperate such that the corner surface and the slide face are positioned to receive the cam pin during reciprocal movement of a bolt carrier group within the upper receiver. The cam race is retained in the upper receiver by fasteners that are tightened into threaded holes in the counterbored area.

  • Publication number: 20260133002
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for an extractor pin for optimizing the operation of a direct gas operated firearm. The extractor pin comprises an elongated member that includes a center portion configured to seat within holes in parallel prongs of the cartridge extractor. First and second end portions of the extractor pin seat within transverse holes in the bolt assembly. The center portion has a diameter that is greater than the diameter of the first and second end portions. The center portion fits loosely in the holes of the parallel prongs, allowing the cartridge extractor to pivot on the extractor pin. The first and second end portions are configured to be lifted to the top of the transverse holes such that the center portion remains disposed in the parallel prongs and centered between the transverse holes.

  • Patent number: 12547790
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a suppressor to be coupled with a muzzle end of a barrel of a firearm to reduce muzzle blast and muzzle flash. The suppressor comprises a housing having a proximal end and a distal end. A front portion within the housing comprises a series of cylindrical gas expansion chambers for attenuating the temperature and energy of propellant gases accompanying a projectile fired from the firearm. An annular gas expansion chamber surrounds the cylindrical gas expansion chambers and directs a portion of the propellant gases from a rear portion of the suppressor to peripheral vents disposed at the distal end. Lateral chambers within the rear portion deflect and rebound a portion of the propellant gases before passing them into the annular gas expansion chamber. Ledges within the annular gas expansion chamber direct the propellant gases distally through suppressor toward the peripheral vents.

  • Publication number: 20250314450
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a pistol stabilizer. The pistol stabilizer includes a shoulder stock for contacting a shooter's shoulder, a horizontal stabilizer connected to the shoulder stock, and a quick-draw holster for precisely and removably retaining the pistol. The holster is coupled with the horizontal stabilizer by way of a notched shaft that enables adjusting the overall length of the pistol stabilizer to accommodate the arm lengths of different shooters. The holster mates with an illumination system attached to the pistol rather than attaching directly to the pistol. The holster includes a lock switch and a pistol release. The pistol release allows the pistol to be removed from the holster while the lock switch enables locking the pistol in the holster. The holster includes a safety mechanism that ensures that the pistol stabilizer can only be used with specific illumination systems.
