Abstract: An arrangement for manufacturing of portion packets of a product for oral use, includes a forming arrangement configured to form portion packets of a bulk material. The arrangement includes a device for placing the portion packets into a container, wherein the device includes a portion packet transporting unit and a portion packet positioning unit. The transporting unit is configured to transport individual portion packets to the positioning unit, and the positioning unit is configured to position the portion packets in a certain pattern during operation of the device. The transporting unit includes a product channel for transporting the portion packets, the product channel having an inlet and an outlet, the transporting unit further including a gas channel for connection to a source of pressurized gas, the gas channel arranged to, when connected to the source, guide pressurized gas into the product channel in a direction towards the product channel outlet.

Abstract: A device for placing portion packets of a product for oral use into a container includes a portion packet positioning unit configured to position the portion packets in relation to each other in the container, wherein the positioning unit includes a set of portion packet receiving compartments arranged in a certain pattern, each of the compartments having an entrance end allowing a portion packet to enter the compartment and, at an opposite side of the compartment, a retaining end preventing a portion packet from exiting the compartment in that direction. The positioning unit further includes a discharging member configured to discharge portion packets from the compartments to the container, wherein the compartments are associated with a supporting structure that retains the compartment pattern during operation of the device. A method an arrangement for placing portion packets of a product for oral use into a container using such device is described.

Abstract: Oral smokeless tobacco products and oral smokeless non-tobacco snuff products include carbamide or carbamide salt(s). The carbamide salt is chosen from the group including carbamide calcium sulphate [4(CH4N2O).CaSO4], carbamide magnesium sulphate [6(CH4N2O).MgSO4.2H2O] and carbamide sodium chloride [CH4N2O).NaCl.H2O]. Moreover, carbamide or carbamide salt(s) are used in the manufacturing of oral smokeless tobacco products or oral smokeless non-tobacco snuff products.
Abstract: A non-tobacco snuff composition for oral use including at least one type of plant fibers with a high dietary fiber content, wherein the fiber dietary content in the composition is 15-90 w/w % based on the dry weight of the composition and a method for manufacturing the non-tobacco snuff composition.

Abstract: There is provided a tobacco product or a non-tobacco snuff product, comprising a magnesium carbonate, for conferring pH stability to the product and preventing growth of bacteria and fungi therein. The magnesium carbonate may contain hydroxide, oxide, and crystal water. The amount of magnesium carbonate ranges from 0.01 and 30% by weight of the dry bulk material. The product may be combined with additional pH regulators. The magnesium carbonate significantly increase the pH-stability in snus and non-tobacco snuff at the normal pH-range used in these products. The final product, which may be oral snuff or snus, or any tobacco-free snuff product, may be in particulate form, or shaped in a variety of forms. The product may be an oral product. The product may be packaged in a box, can or canister. Use of a magnesium carbonate for producing said products is also comprised by the invention.
Abstract: A moist non-tobacco snuff product in pouch, particulate or compressed form for oral placement is provided. The snuff product includes cocoa fibers in an amount of 5-100% by weight of bulk material of the product, and optionally additional plant fibers. The snuff product may contain flavour supplements of food grade, such as fruits, berries, flowers, herbs, oil of fruits and edible plants. Moreover, there is described a process for preparing moist non-tobacco snuff including cocoa fibres. Cocoa fibers are provided, and optionally additional type(s) of plant fiber(s). The fiber bulk material is optionally grinded or cut and/or sieved, whereupon water, one or more humectants, and NaC1 are added. The mixture is heated, kept heated and finally cooled down. Optionally, additional ingredients chosen from the group consisting of salts, humectants, dyes, and/or flavours are added to provide the moist, non-tobacco snuff product.
Abstract: A device and a process for forming and cutting portions of tobacco from a strand of tobacco is provided with an element for feeding the strand of tobacco, such as at least one belt or roll, as well as a cutting element, such as a knife. The device may have additional feeder bands for advancing the strand of tobacco to the position for cutting, and may be under the control of a computerized control system.
