  • Patent number: 11554028
Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for delivering and affixing tissue replacements. In one embodiment, a tissue scaffold can be delivered into a patient through a cannula to a cavity formed at a defect site in tissue, e.g., cartilage. A delivery shaft can be used to deliver the scaffold through the cannula, and a loading device can help load the scaffold onto the delivery shaft. A delivery guide device can position and temporarily hold the scaffold within the cavity. The delivery guide device can guide one or more surgical instruments to the scaffold to affix the scaffold within the cavity, e.g., to bone underlying the scaffold, using at least one securing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 11534218
Abstract: A system for inserting an anchor member into bone includes a receiving member and an anchor member receivable within the receiving member. The receiving member is elongate along a longitudinal axis and has a proximal end and a distal end spaced from the proximal end along the longitudinal axis. The receiving member has an internal surface that defines a transmission element. The anchor member includes an engagement element configured to rotatably engage the transmission element such that the transmission element is configured to drive the anchor member in a distal direction relative to the transmission element so as to rotatably decouple the engagement element from the transmission element. The distal direction extends from the proximal end to the distal end of the receiving member and is parallel with the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 11523820
Abstract: An orthopedic fixation system includes an implant and an implant insertion device. The implant transitions between a natural shape and an insertion shape. The implant includes a bridge defining a slot with a first end and a second end and first and second anchoring members extending from the bridge. The implant insertion device moves between a loaded position and an unloaded position. The implant insertion device in its loaded position inserts through the slot of the bridge and engages the bridge at the first and second ends of the slot such that the implant insertion device constrains the implant in its insertion shape. The implant insertion device in its unloaded position releases the implant.
