Abstract: A support rod for a hollow, flexible torque transmitting shaft for treating a bone includes support and flex portions. When the rod is received at a desired position within the shaft, the support portion extends through a first non-bendable portion of the shaft. An outer diameter of the support portion substantially corresponds to an inner diameter of the shaft to support the first portion. When the support rod is received at the desired position, the flex portion extends through a second bendable portion of the shaft. The flex portion includes a holding portion having an outer diameter substantially corresponding to an inner diameter of the second portion and a gap portion having an outer diameter reduced relative to the outer diameter of the holding portion to form an annular gap between the gap portion and an inner surface of the holding portion.
Abstract: An annular cutting tool and related methods are provided for herein that exhibit improved durability, cutting performance, and/or reduced heat generation for bone graft resections. The annular cutting tool can include an annular body having cutting teeth with a flat, flared distal tip for greater durability. An extended gullet can be disposed between groups of adjacent cutting teeth to improve removal of bone debris away from the cutting teeth more and thus prevent binding during use. The annular cutting body can have a recessed surface portion to reduce the area of direct contact to bone and thus reduce heat generated. The recessed surface portion can also provide an area in which bone debris can accumulate away from the cutting teeth to prevent or reduce binding of the tool during use. The annular cutting body can also include a drill bit for drilling a hole in a resected bone graft.

Abstract: A clot retrieval cleaning instrument can have bristles, fluid sprays, or other techniques to liberate captured clot material from a clot retrieval device so that it can be reinserted into a patient's vasculature for successive capture attempts. The cleaning instrument can be conveniently integrated or connected to a hemo stasis valve assembly so that the cleaning function can be performed without completely removing the clot retrieval device from the delivery system. Aspiration can be applied to remove the freed thrombus material. The cleaning instrument can be removable from the delivery system to facilitate the instrument's washing or disposal.
Abstract: An orthopedic device for implanting between adjacent vertebrae comprising: an arcuate balloon and a hardenable material within said balloon. In some embodiments, the balloon has a footprint that substantially corresponds to a perimeter of a vertebral endplate. An inflatable device is inserted through a cannula into an intervertebral space and oriented so that, upon expansion, a natural angle between vertebrae will be at least partially restored. At least one component selected from the group consisting of a load-bearing component and an osteobiologic component is directed into the inflatable device through a fluid communication means.
Abstract: An example system for deploying an intrasaccular implant to occlude an aneurysm can include the intrasaccular implant with a securing ring thereon, a pusher, a securing wire with an extended securing feature thereon, and a pull wire. The system can be sized to be delivered intravascularly within a microcatheter. During delivery and manipulation of the implant, the securing ring can be held between the pusher and the securing feature of the securing wire with the securing wire and pull wire extended through securing ring. To deploy the implant, the pull wire can be retracted proximally to thereby allow the securing feature to pass through the securing ring and release the implant. The pusher can include a hypotube and/or an extended pushing feature on the securing wire.

Abstract: An adjustable spinal fusion intervertebral implant is provided that can comprise upper and lower body portions that can each have proximal and distal wedge surfaces disposed at proximal and distal ends thereof. An actuator shaft disposed intermediate the upper and lower body portions can be actuated to cause proximal and distal protrusions to converge towards each other and contact the respective ones of the proximal and distal wedge surfaces. Such contact can thereby transfer the longitudinal movement of the proximal and distal protrusions against the proximal and distal wedge surfaces to cause the separation of the upper and lower body portions, thereby expanding the intervertebral implant. The upper and lower body portions can have side portions that help facilitate linear translational movement of the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion.
Abstract: A polyaxial bone anchor has a locking element shaped and configured to allow an anchoring member (e.g., a screw or hook) to polyaxially rotate at large angles about a central axis of the bone anchor before compression locking the anchoring member within an anchor head.

Abstract: Technologies for monitoring impaction and predicting impaction state during an orthopaedic surgical procedure include one or more impaction sensors that generate sensor data. The surgical procedure includes impaction of an orthopaedic implement such as a surgical instrument or a prosthetic component. An impaction analyzer generates an impaction state prediction with a machine learning model based on the sensor data. The impaction state prediction may include an unseated state, a seated state, and a fracture state. An impaction state user interface outputs the impaction state prediction. A model trainer may train the machine learning model with labeled sensor data.
Abstract: An implant includes a first plate and a second plate, a first wedge member and a second wedge member spaced from the first wedge member that couple the first and second plates together. The first and second wedge members configured to translate along the first and second plates from a first contracted configuration into a second expanded configuration. The implant includes an actuation member coupled to the first wedge member and the second wedge member. The actuating member defines a flange extending toward the first and second plates. The actuation member configured to move the first and second wedge members from the first contracted configuration into the second expanded configuration so that the first and second plates separate from each other.
Abstract: A delivery system for delivering and deploying an implantable medical device is presented that includes a delivery member having a flexible distal portion. The deliver member can include a proximal hypotube, a flexible coil extending distally from the proximal hypotube, a compressible distal hypotube extending distally from the flexible coil, a sleeve extending along the flexible coil, and a loop wire. The loop wire can be effective to inhibit longitudinal elongation of the flexible coil. The sleeve can be effective to inhibit radial expansion of the flexible coil.
Abstract: Minimally invasive methods and devices for introducing a spinal fixation element into a surgical site in a patient's spinal column are provided. In general, the method involves advancing a spinal fixation element in a first, lengthwise orientation along a pathway extending from a minimally invasive percutaneous incision to a spinal anchor site. As the spinal fixation element approaches the spinal anchor site, the fixation element can be manipulated to extend in a second orientation, which is preferably substantially transverse to the first orientation, to position the fixation element in relation to one or more spinal anchors.
