  • Patent number: 11134962
Abstract: A motor-driven orthopedic impacting tool is provided for orthopedic impacting in the hips, knees, shoulders and the like. The tool is capable of holding a broach, chisel, or other end effector, which when gently tapped in a cavity with controlled percussive impacts, can expand the size or volume of an opening of the cavity or facilitate removal of the broach, implant, or other surgical implement from the opening. A stored-energy drive mechanism stores potential energy and then releases it to launch a launched mass or striker to communicate a striking force to an adapter in either a forward or reverse direction. The tool may further include a combination anvil and adapter and an energy adjustment mechanism to adjust the striking force the launched mass delivers to the adapter in accordance with a patient profile.

  • Patent number: 11134908
Abstract: Technologies for determining the spatial orientation of input imagery to produce a three-dimensional model includes a device having circuitry to obtain two-dimensional images of an anatomical object (e.g., a bone of a human joint), to determine candidate values indicative of translation and rotation of the anatomical object in the two-dimensional images, and to produce, as a function of the obtained two-dimensional images and the candidate values, a candidate three-dimensional model of the anatomical object. The circuitry is also to determine a score indicative of an accuracy of the candidate three-dimensional model, to determine whether the score satisfies a threshold, and to produce, in response to a determination that the score satisfies the threshold, data indicating that the candidate three-dimensional model is an accurate representation of the anatomical object.

  • Patent number: 11135068
Abstract: An intervertebral implant can include a core and a flexible end plate. The core can have a core body that is elongate along a first direction and defines first and second outer surfaces. The flexible end plate can define an inner surface and an opposed bone facing surface that is configured to abut a vertebral body. The flexible end plate can be coupled to the core such that at least a portion of the inner surface faces the first outer surface and is spaced from the first outer surface. The flexible end plate is configured to resiliently flex toward a compressed configuration such that as the flexible end plate flexes toward the compressed configuration, a first end moves relative to the core along the first direction and the portion of the inner surface moves toward the first outer surface.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes a system for retrieving a blood clot in a blood vessel using a clot retrieval device having an expansile funnel that can engage with the blood clot. The present disclosure also includes a clot retrieval device having an expandable framework that can engage with the blood clot. The expansile funnel and expandable framework can expand from a collapsed delivery state to an expanded deployed state, increasing the cross-sectional area of the clot retrieval device engaging the blood clot. The increased cross-sectional area of the clot retrieval device can increase the suction force, providing effective removal of the clot from the patient.

  • Patent number: 11123061
Abstract: Various self-cinching suture anchors, self-cinching suture anchor systems, and methods of use are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a suture anchor is provided that includes an outer member and an inner member configured to be received within the outer member. The inner and outer members can define a gap that allows a suture to be movably disposed within the outer member, e.g., within the gap, when the inner member is disposed within the outer member. The inner member can be configured to be secured within the outer member by a knot of the suture having a diameter greater than a width of the gap so as to fix the inner member within the outer member, while still allowing uni-directional tensioning of the suture.

  • Patent number: 11103227
Abstract: A retractor includes a first arm, a second arm, and a translating member. The first arm comprises a proximal portion configured to retain a first retractor member and a distal portion configured to rotate relative to the proximal portion about a first axis. The second arm is configured to retain a second retractor member, such that rotation of the distal portion about the first axis causes the first retractor member to pivot toward or away from the second retractor member when the first retractor member and the second retractor member are coupled to the first arm and the second arm, respectively. The translating member is coupled between the proximal portion and the distal portion, and is configured to receive a drive force that causes the translating member to bias the distal portion to pivot relative to the proximal portion about the first axis.
