Abstract: A loudspeaker arrangement comprises a first loudspeaker configured to radiate an acoustical signal, and a first microphone that is acoustically coupled to the first loudspeaker via a secondary path and that is electrically coupled to the first loudspeaker via an active noise control processing unit. During the use of the loudspeaker arrangement, the first loudspeaker is arranged at a first distance from a first active noise control target position, wherein the first active noise control target position is a position at which noise is to be suppressed, and wherein the first distance is a length of the shortest path between the first loudspeaker and the first active noise control target position through free air. The first microphone is arranged at a second distance from the first loudspeaker that equals the first distance, and the position of the first microphone differs from the first active noise target position.
Abstract: Exemplary engine order and road noise control systems and methods include directly picking up road noise from a structural element of a vehicle to generate a first sense signal representative of the road noise, detecting harmonics of an engine of the vehicle to generate a second sense signal representative of the engine harmonics, and combining the first sense signal and the second sense signal to provide a combination signal representing the combination of the first sense signal and the second sense signal. The systems and methods further include broadband active noise control filtering to generate a filtered combination signal, and converting the filtered combination signal from the active noise control filtering into anti-noise and radiating the anti-noise to a listening position in an interior of the vehicle. The filtered combination signal is configured so that the anti-noise reduces the road noise and engine sound at the listening position.

Abstract: A chamber for removing substances from a fluid and particularly for adsorbing fuel vapor from a fuel tank of a vehicle, includes a housing having two ports and a longitudinal axis, an adsorbent material arranged within the housing, the adsorbent material completely covering a transverse cross-section of the housing, such that the adsorbent material forms at least one barrier between the two ports, and a thickness of the adsorbent material in the direction of the longitudinal axis is less than the length of the housing in the longitudinal direction, thereby creating two voids.
Abstract: An inflator (10) is actuatable to provide inflation fluid for inflating an inflatable vehicle occupant protection device. The inflator (10) includes a volume of stored gas and a propellant (52) that is ignitable to undergo a reaction that produces reaction products. The reaction products include heat and gas that mix with the stored gas to produce a mixture of inflation fluid. The inflator (10) is configured to discharge the inflation fluid to inflate the protection device. The propellant (52) comprises an open cell foam fuel propellant (140). The reaction includes a combustion reaction in which the foam fuel propellant (140) reacts with a gas oxidizer comprising oxygen to produce heat and gas reaction products that mix with the stored gas.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for generating oxygen, comprising at least one oxygen source selected from chlorates and perchlorates, to an oxygen generator comprising such a composition, and a method for generating oxygen by decomposing such a composition. The present invention further relates to the use of zeolite compounds as multifunctional components in the oxygen generating compositions.
Abstract: Mobile units moving in a local network environment and at times in the vicinity of meters of the network, at least temporarily bypass relay functions of a concentrator operated in a stationary manner, if the relay function is not yet available, for instance during construction, for radio communication of data packets of the meter linked into the smart-metering network to a center. The mobile units are persons and/or vehicles with communication devices such as smartphones for long-distance links over the Internet or in the mobile radio standard. The communication devices, as modified mobile radio telephones, receive data packets from meters by using hardware or a software app over a short-distance link to the mobile unit being accidentally temporarily located in the vicinity of the meter. Long-distance communication of packets from mobile unit to center then takes place over the Internet or the mobile radio standard.

Abstract: Certain features relate to a telecommunications system with a modular frequency combiner combining multiple received signals at different frequency bands without using frequency-dependent multiplexers. The frequency combiner can include adjustable tuning elements for adjusting various signal-processing parameters of the frequency combiner while the frequency combiner is in the telecommunications system. For example, adjustable tuning elements can adjust the phases of phase shifters of each RF path so that the RF paths are matched for combining the received signals and outputting them through an output port. The adjustable tuning elements can also adjust the electrical length or physical length of the transmission lines that carry the received signals. The adjustable tuning elements can be adjusted manually or automatically while the frequency combiner is deployed in the field in the telecommunications system.

Abstract: A method for determining the amount of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), in which—if required—the erythrocytes in a sample are hemolyzed, the haemoglobin that is then released—if required—is contacted with a proteolytic agent and the glycated hemoglobin degradation products obtained in this way or otherwise are quantified is disclosed. In order to provide such a process and reagents employable therein that has/have the property of sufficient stability of the chemical compounds that are essential to the reaction, the provision of the requisite proteolytic agent in the form of an inactivated protease is proposed, which is then only reactivated in situ.
