Abstract: A cup-shaped flexible externally toothed gear of a wave gear device, wherein a diaphragm plate slopes from a diaphragm internal peripheral edge portion contiguous to a boss part toward a diaphragm external peripheral edge portion contiguous to a cylindrical body portion in a direction in which the diaphragm external peripheral edge portion is at greater distance from an open end of the cylindrical body portion with respect to an orthogonal plane orthogonal to a central axis line of the device. The length dimension of the diaphragm plate and the length dimension of the cylindrical body portion in the axial direction can be increased. Therefore, the fatigue strength of the diaphragm plate and the load capacity of the wave gear device in which the flexible externally toothed gear has been incorporated can be increased.
Abstract: A medical device-includes a polymer scaffold crimped to a catheter having an expansion balloon. The scaffold is crimped to the balloon by a process that includes inflating the delivery balloon during a diameter reduction to improve scaffold retention. A crimping temperature is maintained at about the onset of glass transition of the polymer material to facilitate more rapid stabilization of mechanical properties in the scaffold following crimping.
Abstract: Disclosed methods cap exposed surfaces of copper lines with a layer of metal or metal-containing compound combined with silicon. In some cases, the metal or metal-containing compound forms an atomic layer. In certain embodiments, the methods involve exposing the copper surface first to a metal containing precursor to form an atomic layer of adsorbed precursor or metal atoms, which may optionally be converted to an oxide, nitride, carbide, or the like by, e.g., a pinning treatment. Subsequent exposure to a silicon-containing precursor may proceed with or without metallic atoms being converted.
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for globally referenced positioning in a shielded environment includes integrating and correlating information from a UWB receiver, a GPS receiver, and a bent-path GPS receiver adapted to extract a GPS radio frequency wave from a heterodyned GPS signal. The method, apparatus, and system is resistant to interference and can be used in a shielded environment such as indoors or behind a line-of-sight barrier.

Abstract: Occluding structures may be created within a body lumen by advancing a length of material distally through the body lumen. By drawing a distal location on the advanced length of material in a proximal direction, the material may be compacted into a structure which at least partially occludes the lumen. The occluding structure may be used to remove kidney stones from the ureter in conjunction with lithotripsy and irrigation.
Abstract: Stateful failover redundancy support is provided for network address translation (NAT). A master NAT device is backed-up with at least one back-up NAT device. Existing sessions are synchronized between the two NAT devices, such as via a dedicated link between them. In the event of a failover where the master NAT device is unable to perform its NAT functions, ownership of Internet protocol (IP) addresses is transferred from the master NAT device to the back-up NAT device. The back-up NAT device, which is now owner of the IP addresses, assumes the NAT functionality associated with these IP addresses and continues the existing sessions, as well as processing new sessions.
Abstract: A smoothing algorithm for round trip time (RTT) measurements is provided to a network device to effectively deal with variations or other potential anomalies that may occur in RTT measurements. The algorithm involves: first determining what should be considered a very high or a very small value for a RTT sample. If a new RTT sample is in an acceptable range, then the network device performs a relatively basic smoothing. If the new RTT sample is much higher than a current RTT value, then the network device ignores the value of this RTT sample a few times. If the network device still detects this large value after ignoring that value for some time, then the network device factors this value into the current RTT value using an additive increase. Similarly, if the value of the new RTT sample is much lower than current RTT value, the network device ignores the value of the new RTT sample a few times.
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for the controlling of the stimulation pulses being delivered via electrodes to a patient during the programming of a pulse generator using a controller device and selecting of a minimum amplitude that corresponds to the minimum amplitude for which the patient can detect stimulation; selecting an electrode combination defined in the controller device; setting the stimulation amplitude; making a determination of the amplitude for the stimulation pulses is greater than the perception amplitude, and if so, changing the amplitude of the stimulation pulses to be less than or equal to the perception amplitude; and if not or subsequent to the changing of the amplitude, changing the selected one of a plurality of electrode combinations to a different combination.

Abstract: A fluid dispensing nozzle includes a removable valve subassembly that controls the flow of fluid and the recovery of fluid vapor through the body of the nozzle. The subassembly may be pre-assembled and installed within a nozzle body as a single unit. The nozzle may include a vacuum-driven automatic shut-off system which prevents fluid from flowing through the nozzle when the downstream end of the nozzle spout is submerged. The shutoff system may also be magnetically actuated to allow for dry testing in which the automatic shut-off functionality is testing without dispensation of fluid.

Abstract: Digital image storage and management systems capable of producing encrypted DICOM volumes on different types of media (e.g., Blu-ray, CD, DVD, memory stick, USB flash drive, etc.), with or without the automatic generation of labels, systems and mechanisms to generate and manage passwords for the encrypted volumes, and systems and mechanisms to manage access to encrypted data on such volumes are disclosed. Generated encrypted DICOM volumes, which can comprise confidential patient data, can be securely interchanged, archived, and distributed to users. The disclosed systems and methods can permit authorized users to access encrypted data, even if the users do not have access to the original encryption mechanism. Encrypted data stored on the volume can be easily and securely accessed by a variety of authorized users.

Abstract: A rapid process model identification technique identifies, in a relatively short period of time, the dynamic relationship between a process input and a process output by developing an estimate of an integrating gain and a process deadtime from the initial response of the process output to a change in the process input. The integrating gain and deadtime values are then used to generate a complete process model for any of many different types of processes. These process models can be used very quickly to perform process simulation or can be used for control purposes, so as to be able to bring a process control system that uses or relies on process models on line much more quickly than was possible in the past. Moreover, this rapid modeling technique can be used to develop simulation models before the controller has completed responding to even a single process upset.
Abstract: Security devices according to the present invention may be configured to secure merchandise supported by a display card. The security device may include a housing defining an aperture configured to receive a secured portion of the article, an engagement member disposed generally proximate the aperture, and a sliding member configured to move the engagement member from the release position to a capture position. The secured portion may be removed from the aperture while the engagement member is in the release position and the secured portion may be inhibited from removal while the engagement member is in the capture position. The engagement member may define an engagement aperture where the secured portion of the article that is received through the aperture of the housing is also received through the engagement aperture of the engagement member.
Abstract: A heat shield employed in semiconductor processing apparatus comprises a high performance insulation that has low thermal conductivity, such as, below the thermal conductivity of still air over a wide range of temperatures utilized in operation of the apparatus. As an example, the thermal conductivity of the insulation may be in the range of about 0.004 W/m·h to about 0.4 W/m·h over a temperature range of about 0° C. to about 600° C. or more. The deployment of the high performance heat shield reduces the power consumption necessary for the heater by as much as 20% to reach a desired processing temperature as compared to a case of heater power consumption required to reach the same desired temperature without the shield.

Abstract: A signal canceller includes a dual-drive electro-optic modulator having separate first and second electrical inputs. The first electrical input is coupled to a first portion of a first signal and the second electrical input is coupled to a second signal and to a second portion of the first signal. A laser generates an optical beam that propagates from the optical input to an optical output of the electro-optic modulator. The dual-drive electro-optic modulator modulates the optical beam with the first and second portions of the first signal and with the second signal. The modulation cancels at least some the first signal and generates a modulation signal with reduced first signal modulation component.
Abstract: A system and method for determining media to be exported out of a media library is described. In some examples, the system determines a media component to be exported, determines the media component is in the media library for a specific process, and exports the media component after the process is completed.
