  • Patent number: 8730671
Abstract: A cooling device for rack mount equipment comprises an extensible side duct, open on its inner and rear-facing sides which redirects warm exhaust air exiting vents in the side of a chassis towards the rear of an enclosure holding the chassis. An apparatus incorporating the cooling device may be installed in a rack with the extensible side duct in a retracted position. The extensible side duct may extend under the influence of air pressure, forming a plenum in fluid communication with the interior of a chassis on which it is mounted such that warm air exiting the chassis is collected in the plenum formed by the extensible side duct and directed out towards the rear of the chassis. Use of the apparatus permits conventional front-to-back cooling airflow patterns to be maintained even with chassis having side exhaust vents.

  • Patent number: 8731258
Abstract: A technique is disclosed for generating a new contour and/or a 3D surface such as a variational implicit surface from contour data. In one embodiment, B-spline interpolation is used to efficiently generate a new contour (preferably a transverse contour), from a plurality of input contours (preferably, sagittal and/or coronal contours). In another embodiment, a point reduction operation is performed on data sets corresponding to any combination of transverse, sagittal, or coronal contour data prior to processing those data sets to generate a 3D surface such as a variational implicit surface. A new contour can also be generated by the intersection of this surface with an appropriately placed and oriented plane. In this manner, the computation of the variational implicit surface becomes sufficiently efficient to make its use for new contour generation practical.

  • Patent number: 8726483
Abstract: A medical device-includes a scaffold crimped to a catheter having an expansion balloon. The scaffold is crimped to the balloon by a process that includes one or more balloon pressurization steps. The balloon pressurization steps are selected to enhance scaffold retention to the balloon while retaining, at least partially, the original balloon folds as the balloon is pressurized and de-pressurized within a crimper head. By at least partially retaining the original balloon folds, a uniformity of scaffold expansion by the balloon is improved.

  • Patent number: 8732630
Abstract: Some embodiments provide support for real number modeling in SystemVerilog by defining built-in nettypes with real data type and resolution functions natively in SystemVerilog and allow a simple path for porting Verilog-AMS wreal modeling to SystemVerilog modeling. Some embodiments provide support for incompatible nettypes and for net coercion in SystemVerilog. Some embodiments provide support for SystemVerilog reals net connecting to electrical nets and support for SystemVerilog real signals connecting to Verilog-AMS wreal signals. Some embodiments combine the strengths of Verilog-AMS and SystemVerilog languages to build a solution for value conversion between incompatible nets and an effective way to configure, simulate, or verify mixed-signal designs that are written in SystemVerilog language.

  • Patent number: 8732632
Abstract: SOC designs increasingly feature IP cores with standardized wrapper cells having vendor-provided test patterns for the internal logic. To test wrapper, interconnect, and other boundary logic, a boundary model is extracted from the design in a synthesis or ATPG environment. Wrapper cells are identified and boundary logic extracted by structural tracing of wrapper chains and tracing from core inputs/outputs to the wrapper cells. A created boundary model excludes core internal logic tested by vendor-provided test patterns to be migrated to the containing chip interface. An SOC ATPG model is built including boundary models for all embedded cores, interconnects, and any other logic residing at the SOC top hierarchical level. This model is very compact yet accurate for testing logic external to all embedded cores. Test time is reduced and test pattern generation greatly simplified, while featuring good test coverage. The same approach is used for 3D packages having multiple dies.

  • Patent number: 8732184
Abstract: A system and method for remotely displaying a plurality of data items is disclosed. The system determines a total quantity of displayable data items and optionally receives an indication of a display control size from a remote client. The server stores a threshold value indicating a relationship between a quantity of data items and a size of a display control. The server compares the quantity of data items and the received indication of the display control size. If the comparison exceeds the threshold value, the server sends a subset of the items to the remote client for display, and sends additional items as requested by the remote client. If the comparison is less than the threshold value, the server sends each of the items to the remote client for display. The server repeats this comparison for changes in the quantity of data items or the size of the display control.

  • Patent number: 8726722
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining concentrations of components of a multiphase fluid. A first flowmeter receives a fluid flow and generates measurements of the fluid flow. After at least partially separating the fluid flow into mixtures of its components, second and third flowmeters generate measurements of the mixtures. A data processing apparatus operatively coupled to the flowmeters receives the measurements and determines concentrations of the components of the fluid flow. In an embodiment, the measurements are mass flow and density readings.

  • Patent number: 8732136
Abstract: A method and system of recovery point data view shift through a direction-agnostic roll algorithm is disclosed. The method includes forming a data view around a recovery point, and shifting the data view around the recovery point through a direction-agnostic roll algorithm that uses at least one of a roll-forward algorithm to shift the data view to a time after the recovery point and a roll-backward algorithm to shift the data view to a time before the recovery point. A data integrity is determined to be consistent at the recovery point by examining data and meta-data associated with the recovery point. The recovery point is associated with one of an automatically generated event, a user definable event, and/or a prepackaged event. A marker data is generated at the recovery point to enable the direction-agnostic roll algorithm to reduce a recovery time objective when an algorithm is applied.
