  • Publication number: 20080046724
Abstract: A separation management system (32) for governing interaction between code within a code base (50) operable on a computer (30) determines a region in a memory (44) of the computer (30) in which the code base (50) resides and defines container boundaries (118, 124, 130, 135) in the region for a plurality of containers (95). Each of the containers (95) contains subsets of the code (120, 126, 132, 137) that cannot be trusted. A policy (94) is created that governs interaction between the subsets of the code in the containers (95). The code base (50) is executed in the computer (30) in accordance with the policy (94) such that the subsets of code within the containers (95) are prevented from accessing code outside of their respective containers (95) when access is disallowable as indicated by the policy (94).

  • Publication number: 20080009759
Abstract: A method of analyzing cardiac functions in a subject using a processing system is described. The method may include applying one or more electrical signals having a plurality of frequencies to the subject and detecting a response to the applied one or more signals from the subject. A characteristic frequency can then be determined from the applied and received signals, and at least one component of the impedance (e.g., reactance, phase shift) can be measured at the characteristic frequency. Thus, the impedance or a component of impedance at a characteristic frequency can be determined for a number of sequential time instances. A new characteristic frequency may be determined within a cardiac cycle (e.g., with each sequential time instant) or the same characteristic frequency may be used throughout the cardiac cycle during which instantaneous values of impedance (or a component of impedance) are determined. These instantaneous values may be used to determine one or more indicia of cardiac function.

  • Publication number: 20070288876
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved approach for organizing, analyzing, and operating upon polygon data which significantly reduces the amount of data required for processing while keeping elements non-interfacing with each other. According to one approach, clusters of elements are extracted which are then handled separately. In some approaches, a set of polygons forms a cluster if for any two polygons from the set of polygons there exists a sequence of polygons from the set such that the distance between any sequential polygons are less than or equal to a given threshold number. Rather than analyzing each and every polygon in the design, repetitive unique patterns are analyzed once, which are then replicated for all clusters which have the same repetitive pattern.
