Abstract: Each data stream in a backup job is individually tracked by data agent(s) and media agent(s) in its path, generating performance data packets in-process and merging them into the processed data stream. The data stream thus incrementally accumulates performance data packets from any number of successive backup processes. The in-process tracking also captures hierarchical relationships among backup processes and in-process subtending tasks, so that the resulting performance report can depict parent and child operations. The hierarchical relationships are embedded into the performance data packets and may be analyzed by parsing the data stream. The media agent transfers the data packets belonging to the secondary copy to secondary storage. The media agent analyzes the performance data packets in the data stream and generates a performance report, which covers the data stream from source to destination, based on the accumulated information carried by the performance data packets.
Abstract: A method for placing, routing and using compute units and memory units in a reconfigurable computing grid includes receiving a placement graph for a computing task that defines a set of unplaced memory units, a set of unplaced compute units and data connections between the unplaced memory units and the unplaced compute units, the data connections comprising primary connections corresponding to the primary ports of the unplaced compute units and secondary connections corresponding to the secondary ports of the unplaced compute units. The method also includes forming a subgraph for each unplaced memory unit having a primary connection, each subgraph comprising the unplaced memory unit and each unplaced compute unit connected to the unplaced memory unit via a primary connection. The method also includes placing each formed subgraph as a cluster on the reconfigurable computing grid. A corresponding computer program product and system are also disclosed herein.
Abstract: Systems and methods for extending a guidewire from an insertion tool are disclosed. A guidewire assembly includes a slider configured to engage a guidewire carrier. The guidewire carrier defines a lumen configured to receive a guidewire therein. The guidewire carrier is biased to a non-linear, coiled resting state and can elastically transition to a linear extended state. As the guidewire assembly and slider are urged distally, the slider transitions the guidewire carrier from the non-linear state to the linear extended state. A distance travelled by the slider is less than a distance travelled by a tip of the guidewire as the guidewire carrier transitions from the coiled state to the linear state.

Abstract: An illustrative file indexing approach enhances what was previously possible with hypervisor-free live browsing of virtual machine (VM) block-level backup copies. Capabilities are described for indexing files discovered in VM block-level backup copies, including file content. The illustrative file indexing functionality activates a live-browse session to discover files present within VM block-level backup copies and indexes file names and directory structures as created by an original source VM, resulting in an illustrative file index. The illustrative file indexing functionality optionally indexes file contents within VM block-level backup copies, resulting in an illustrative content index. The file index and content index are retained in persistent data structure(s) stored apart from the VM block-level backup copies. The indexes are searchable without mounting or live-browsing the VM block-level backup copies. In some embodiments the file index and the content index are consolidated.

Abstract: Methods and systems for rotating elements displayed by computing devices are described herein. At least one image of a user of a computing device may be captured by a camera of the computing device. An angle of the eyes of the user with respect to the computing device may be determined. Based on that determined angle, at least one element of content displayed by the computing device may be rotated so as to allow for display of that element in an orientation consumable by the user. For example, the element might be rotated at an angle corresponding to the angle of the eyes of the user with respect to the orientation of the computing device.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for automatic signal detection in an RF environment are disclosed. A sensor device in a nodal network comprises at least one RF receiver, a generator engine, and an analyzer engine. The at least one RF receiver measures power levels in the RF environment and generates FFT data based on power level data. The generator engine calculates a power distribution by frequency of the RF environment in real time or near real time, including a first derivative and a second derivative of the FFT data. The analyzer engine creates a baseline based on statistical calculations of the power levels measured in the RF environment for a predetermined period of time, and identifies at least one signal based on the first derivative and the second derivative of the FFT data in at least one conflict situation from comparing live power distribution to the baseline of the RF environment.
Abstract: A computerized method for utilizing private Internet Protocol (IP) addressing for communications between components of one or more public cloud networks. The method features determining whether outbound traffic corresponds to a first type of outbound traffic being forwarded from a cloud instance supported by the gateway. In response to determining that the first type of outbound traffic is being forwarded from the cloud instance, the first type of outbound traffic is directed via a data interface of the gateway. Also, the method features determining whether the outbound traffic corresponds to a second type of outbound traffic being initiated by logic within the gateway. In response to determining that the second type of outbound traffic is being initiated by logic within the gateway, directing the second type of outbound traffic via a management interface of the gateway.
