  • Patent number: 9846783
Abstract: Methods and systems for securely accessing content irrespective of the security of the environment in which the content is being accessed are described herein. In some embodiments, a mobile computing device may determine whether secure enterprise content is being accessed on a mobile computing device. In response to determining that a private user device (e.g., virtual reality or augmented reality headwear/eyewear), is communicatively coupled to the mobile computing device, the mobile computing device may prevent the secure content from display on the mobile computing device and instead generate the secure enterprise content for presentation in an unencrypted form on the private user device.

  • Patent number: 9846096
Abstract: Electrical and mechanical noise in a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) pressure sensor are reduced by the symmetrical distribution of bond pads, conductive vias and interconnects and by the elimination of bond wires used in the prior art to connect a MEMS pressure sensing element to an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). The bond wires are eliminated by using conductive vias to connect an ASIC to a MEMS pressure sensing element. Extraneous electrical noise is suppressed by conductive rings that surround output signal bond pads and a conductive loop that surrounds the conductive rings and bond pads. The conductive rings and loop are connected to a fixed voltage or ground potential.

  • Patent number: 9846426
Abstract: A field programmable gate array (FPGA) in a machine health monitoring (MHM) module includes interface circuitry, vibration data processing circuitry, and tachometer data processing circuitry. The interface circuitry de-multiplexes a synchronous serial data stream comprising multiple multiplexed data channels, each containing machine vibration data or tachometer data, into separate input data streams. The vibration data processing circuitry comprises parallel processing channels for the separate input data streams containing vibration data, each channel including a highpass filter, two stages of integration circuits, a digital tracking bandpass filter, and multiple parallel scalar calculation channels. The tachometer data processing circuitry processes the tachometer data to generate RPM and other values. A cross-point switch in the FPGA distributes tachometer signals between MHM modules in a distributed control system, thereby allowing multiple modules to share tachometer information.

  • Patent number: 9844911
Abstract: A machine converts a web of preformed pouches, which are defined by transverse seals extending from a remote edge, into inflated dunnage units. A sealing arrangement is positioned to provide a longitudinal seal intersecting the transverse seals to close the preformed pouches and form a dunnage unit. The sealing arrangement has at least two sealing belts. Each belt is positioned so that respective first sides engage a surface of the web and pull the web through sealing elements positioned on either side of the web. A heating element is on a second side of the first belt not engaging the web. A compliant material is on a second side of the second belt not engaging the web. As the web passes between the heating element and compliant material, imperfections in the web are smoothed by the compliant material and the layers of the web are sealed by the heating element.

  • Publication number: 20170359115
Abstract: A system for communication comprises an antenna system that includes a reflector having a focus and a feed array positioned at or near the focus and having N feed elements, N being an integer greater than 1. The N feed elements receive N feed signals that result from illumination of the N feed elements by a target signal incident on the reflector from a slow-moving signal source. A first N-to-N Fourier Transform device performs a spatial Fourier Transform on the N feed signals to generate N wavefront signals which are orthogonal to one another. Band-pass filters filter the N wavefront signals and output N filtered wavefront signals. Frequency down-converters down-convert the N filtered wavefront signals to an intermediate frequency or baseband frequency and generate N frequency-down-converted wavefront signals. Analog-to-digital converters digitize the N frequency-down-converted wavefront signals and output N digital wavefront signals.

  • Patent number: 9841296
Abstract: A rotary position sensor includes a member with a shaft associated with the member such that movement of the member rotates the shaft. An arc-shaped permanent magnet is coupled to a periphery of the shaft for rotation therewith. First and second adjacent magnetic field concentrators define a gap there-between. Sensor structure is disposed in the gap. Upon movement of the member causing rotation of the shaft and magnet, the concentrators and sensor structure remain stationary, with the magnet providing a magnetic pole that changes the magnetic field in the gap. The sensor structure is constructed and arranged to respond to the changes in the magnetic field to identify a position of the member.

  • Patent number: 9839732
Abstract: A wireless power system capable of transmitting power through the skin over distances ranging from a few inches to several feet includes an external transmitting coil assembly and a receiving coil assembly. A transmitting resonant coil and a receiving resonant coil are constructed as to have closely matched or identical resonant frequencies so that the magnetic field produced by the transmitting resonant coil is able to cause the receiving resonant coil to resonate strongly also, even when the distance between the two resonant coils greatly exceeds the largest dimension of either coil. The receiving resonant coil then creates its own local time varying magnetic field, which inductively produces a voltage to provide power to an active implantable medical device or implantable rechargeable battery.

  • Patent number: 9842577
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed at methods, apparatus and systems for implementing an improvised guitar playing feature on a rhythm-action game. The improvised guitar playing feature allows players to manipulate a guitar controller to produce a pleasing, musical-sounding improvised play even if the players have little experience or skill at improvising music. This feature uses quantized 8th and 16th note musical phrases, or “licks”, strung together to form authentic, melodic, and rhythmically musical and impressive guitar lines, regardless of the player's ability. The improvised guitar playing feature can also display cues directing the player to improvise in a certain manner, while still providing players a degree of musical freedom in selecting how to play. In some embodiments, the present disclosure is also directed at scoring mechanisms for evaluating improvised guitar play.
