  • Patent number: 9837709
Abstract: A broadband quadruple helical circularly-polarized antenna for receiving GNSS signals comprises an excitation circuit and a set of quadruple spiral elements. Each quadruple spiral element consists of four conductors. Each conductor is a one spiral turn of the quadruple spiral element. Said conductors have equal winding angle. The winding angle of all conductors does not change in the same quadruple spiral element. Conductors of neighboring (longitudinally) quadruple spiral elements have different winding angles. The antenna provides a sharp drop in AP at angles near the horizon and a small AP level in the lower hemisphere.

  • Patent number: 9836202
Abstract: For certain medical images, it is important and/or required that a user view all of a medical image at full resolution so that minute, but important, indicia in the medical image are not missed. A computing systems monitor the portions of the medical image that are displayed on the display device, notates those portions that have been displayed at full resolution (or other user-defined display parameters), and provides the user with information indicating portions that have not been viewed at full resolution and/or provides information indicating for which images of a multiple image examination full pixel display has been accomplished. The process reduces the possibility of missing an abnormality in a medical image due to the viewer not viewing a portion of the image at full resolution or using other user-defined display parameters.

  • Patent number: 9836564
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for reducing the number of Monte Carlo simulation samples required to determine if a design meets design specifications. The worst sample for each specification acts as a design corner to substitute for a full design verification. Embodiments determine the maximum number of samples needed, perform an initial performance modeling using an initial set of samples, and estimate the failure probability of each of the remaining samples based on the performance model. Embodiments then simulate remaining samples with a computer-operated Monte Carlo circuit simulation tool in decreasing design specification model accuracy order, wherein the sample predicted most likely to fail each specification is simulated first. Re-use of simulation results progressively improves models. Probability based stop criteria end the simulation early when the worst samples have been confidently found. A potential ten-fold reduction in overall specification verification time may result.

  • Patent number: 9838643
Abstract: A method and system detection of inherent noise present within a video source prior to digital video compression is disclosed. A noise image is extracted by subtracting a current image from its filtered version. Each pixel of the extracted noise image is normalized based on a determined principal edge image and the analog noise pixels are accumulated to generate an intermediate noise confidence value. Analog noise may be detected based on an analog noise confidence value generated based on the intermediate noise confidence value and a ringing metric, a blockiness metric, a motion vector cost of the current image, a blurriness exception weight, a flashiness exception weight, and a pan blur exception weight. The method may further comprise detection of high frequency noise based on determining a high frequency noise confidence value that may be based on a high frequency noise value and a frequency component with highest magnitude.

  • Patent number: 9834852
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to methods and apparatus for electroplating one or more materials onto a substrate. In many cases the material is a metal and the substrate is a semiconductor wafer, though the embodiments are no so limited. Typically, the embodiments herein utilize a channeled plate positioned near the substrate, creating a cross flow manifold defined on the bottom by the channeled plate, on the top by the substrate, and on the sides by a cross flow confinement ring. During plating, fluid enters the cross flow manifold both upward through the channels in the channeled plate, and laterally through a cross flow side inlet positioned on one side of the cross flow confinement ring. The flow paths combine in the cross flow manifold and exit at the cross flow exit, which is positioned opposite the cross flow inlet. These combined flow paths result in improved plating uniformity.

  • Patent number: 9833169
Abstract: A method of locating a tip of a central venous catheter (“CVC”) having a distal and proximal pair of electrodes disposed within the superior vena cava, right atrium, and/or right ventricle. The method includes obtaining a distal and proximal electrical signal from the distal and proximal pair of electrodes and using those signals to generate a distal and proximal P wave, respectively. A deflection value is determined for each of the P waves. A ratio of the deflection values is then used to determine a location of the tip of the CVC. Optionally, the CVC may include a reference pair of electrodes disposed within the superior vena cava from which a reference deflection value may be obtained. A ratio of one of the other deflection values to the reference deflection value may be used to determine the location of the tip of the CVC.
