Abstract: A fuel cell system and method is provided to control the volumetric ratio of a reformate and unreformed hydrocarbon fuel supplied to a fuel cell configured for in-stack reforming. The system includes a reformer having a number of high and low steam reforming activity channels which provide a full equilibrated fuel stream and a fuel stream having hydrocarbon levels slight lower than the hydrocarbon levels of the hydrocarbon fuel supplied to the reformer, respectively. The fuel streams can be mixed and supplied to the fuel cell to provide in-stack reforming while reducing or inhibiting the formation of carbon in the fuel stack.

Abstract: A method for performing Boolean operations using a computer to create geometric models from primary geometric objects and their facets, comprises calculating intersection lines of facets, splitting facets through which the intersection lines pass, determining each facet is obvious or obscure, and regrouping the facets to form one or more geometric objects. This method does not utilize the most popular data structures CSG and B-REP in CAD/CG/Solid Modeling systems, but has the advantages of both CSG and B-REP: easy to implement and flexible.
Abstract: A dual mode light assembly for a forward position light of an aircraft includes a base, a visible light source mounted to the base that is configured to emit visible light, a covert light source mounted to the base that is configured to emit covert light, and a light shield mounted to the base. The light shield is configured to restrict transmission of the visible light to a visible light pattern and to restrict transmission of the covert light to a covert light pattern.
Abstract: A machine monitoring system uses generically defined collection definitions, acquisition definitions, and measurement definitions to define machine data to be collected by machine monitoring devices and other data sources in a unified and device/source independent manner. Configuration software of the machine monitoring system defines data to be collected for a particular machine in such a manner that multiple different types of monitoring devices or data sources can each interpret the data definitions and provide the same type of data back to the software system. Thus, the data to be collected is defined once by the configuration software, and the data definition is interpreted internally by each monitoring device or data source. This greatly simplifies the monitoring system and provides the advantage that new monitoring devices can be added to the system to collect data without impacting the software configuration of the data required.

Abstract: A method of operating a fuel cell system is provided. The fuel cell system may comprise one or more solid oxide fuel cells. One or more of the fuel cells may be operated in a fuel cell mode under an average current density of 100 to 1000 mA/cm2 for a period of at least five hundred hours. The method may further comprise operating at least one of the fuel cells in an electrolyzer mode under an average current density from 100 to 1500 mA/cm2, which may be applied for at least one hour. The ratio of the average current density in the electrolyzer mode to the average current density in the fuel cell mode may be at least one but no more than two and one-half.
Abstract: The effects of decoherence and/or noise in adiabatic quantum computation and quantum annealing are reduced by implementing replica coding schemes. Multiple instances of the same problem are mapped to respective subsets of the qubits and coupling devices of a quantum processor. The multiple instances are evolved simultaneously in the presence of coupling between the qubits of different instances. Quantum processor architectures that are adapted to facilitate replica coding are also described.
Abstract: A plurality of one-dimensional planar beam forming and steering optical phased array chips form a two-dimensional-scanning solid-state lidar, enabling manufacturing of three-dimensional mapping time-of-flight lidars at high yield and low cost resulting from the simplicity of said one-dimensional optical phased array chips.
Abstract: The present specification discloses a storage system for enabling the substantially concurrent storage and access of data that has three dimensional images processed to identify a presence of a threat item. The system includes a source of data, a temporary storage memory for receiving and temporarily storing the data, a long term storage, and multiple workstations adapted to display three dimensional images. The temporary storage memory is adapted to support multiple file input/output operations executing substantially concurrently, including the receiving of data, transmitting of data to workstations, and transmitting of data to long term storage.

Abstract: Methods and systems for sharing variable states from an appliance to one or more servers is disclosed. The appliance may identify a script, and identify the variables associated with the script. The variables are shared with the servers so that the servers can execute the script. The script may also be shared with the servers. The script and the variables may be transmitted in-band with other traffic.
Abstract: The present disclosure presents systems and methods for policy based redirection of network traffic, by an intermediary device, to a horizontally deployed WAN device. An intermediary receives a request from a client to access a server. The request was previously modified by a first WAN device to include information in a first option field of a transport layer. The intermediary may determine, responsive to a redirection policy, to send the request to a second WAN optimization device deployed horizontally from the intermediary, instead of the server. The intermediary transmits the request to the second WAN optimization device, while maintaining the information from the first option field. The intermediary device receives the request including the information in the first option field identifying the first WAN optimization device to the second WAN optimization device.
