  • Patent number: 9610974
Abstract: A disclosed method of maneuvering a vehicle-trailer unit in reverse travel with a backing system includes, among other things, determining that the vehicle-trailer unit is backing up with an electronic control unit for the backing system. A current hitch angle is determined, which represents the relative angle between the vehicle and the trailer with the electronic control unit. A requested hitch angle rate of change versus distance traveled is calculated with the electronic control unit, wherein the requested hitch angle rate of change is based upon a input from a joystick control which provides a requested hitch angle rate of change signal value in proportion to the joystick position.

  • Patent number: 9612916
Abstract: A resource allocation system begins with an ordered plan for matching requests to resources that is sorted by priority. The resource allocation system optimizes the plan by determining those requests in the plan that will fail if performed. The resource allocation system removes or defers the determined requests. In addition, when a request that is performed fails, the resource allocation system may remove requests that require similar resources from the plan. Moreover, when resources are released by a request, the resource allocation system may place the resources in a temporary holding area until the resource allocation returns to the top of the ordered plan so that lower priority requests that are lower in the plan do not take resources that are needed by waiting higher priority requests higher in the plan.

  • Patent number: 9611767
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine comprising two or more engine valves that receive valve actuation motions from a valve actuation motion source via a valve train, which valve train comprises a hydraulic lash adjuster, an apparatus for valve actuation comprises a valve bridge and a lost motion assembly disposed therein. The lost motion assembly comprises a first piston disposed in a first piston bore formed in the valve bridge. The first piston is configured to operatively connect with a component of the valve train. A biasing element is configured to bias the first piston out of the first piston bore with a first force that is greater than a second force applied to the first piston by the hydraulic lash adjuster. A travel limiter is configured to limit travel of the first piston out of the first piston bore to be no greater than a maximum lost motion distance.
