  • Patent number: 9610386
Abstract: A method for electrostatic coating of medical devices such as stents and balloons is described. The method includes applying a composition to a polymeric component of a medical device which has little or no conductivity. The polymeric component could be a material from which the body or a strut of the stent is made or could be a polymeric coating pre-applied on the stent. The polymeric component could be the balloon wall. A charge can then be applied to the polymeric component or the polymeric component can be grounded. Charged particles of drugs, polymers, biobeneficial agents, or any combination of these can then be electrostatically deposited on the medical device or the coating on the medical device. One example of the composition is iodine, iodine, iodide, iodate, a complex or salt thereof which can also impart imaging capabilities to the medical device.

  • Patent number: 9612841
Abstract: A multi-processor includes a pool of processors and a common packet buffer memory. Bytes of packet data of a packet are stored in the packet buffer memory. Each of the processors has an intelligent packet data register file. One processor is tasked with processing the packet data, and its packet data register file caches a subset of the bytes. Some instructions when executed require that the packet data register file supply the processor execute stage with certain bytes of the packet data. The register file includes a set of slice portions, where each slice portion is responsible for different bytes of the overall packet data. Each slice portion independently handles stalling the processor and prefetching any bytes it is responsible for. The slice portions output their bytes in a shifted and masked fashion to that the overall register file output is properly presented to the execute stage.

  • Patent number: 9606238
Abstract: Low-energy consumption techniques for locating a movable object using a global satellite navigation system (GNSS) are provided. A mobile station attached to or included in a movable object can communicate bidirectionally with a fixed base station to determine a location of the movable object. The mobile station may communicate an estimated position to the base station and receive from the base station a set of GNSS satellites that are visible to the mobile station. The mobile station can acquire satellite timing information from GNSS signals from the set of satellites and communicate minimally-processed satellite timing information to the base station. The base station can determine the position of the mobile station and communicate the position back to the mobile station. By offloading much of the processing to the base station, energy consumption of the mobile station is reduced.
