  • Patent number: 9582310
Abstract: A hypervisor preferably provides VM (virtual machine) identification, priority and LUN/LBA range information to the HBA (host bus adapter) when a VM is created. Alternatively, the HBA can determine that a LUN/LBA range is new and request VM identity, priority and LUN/LBA range from the hypervisor. The HBA creates a table containing the VM identification, priority and LUN/LBA range. The HBA then detects operations directed to the LUN/LBA range and does a lookup to determine VM identification and priority. VM identification and priority are then mapped into a field in a frame using a unique identifier. The unique identifier can be placed using reserved bits on the existing Fiber Channel (FC) header or can use bits in an additional header, such as a modified IFR header or an optional device header. The VM identification aware HBAs register with the NS.

  • Patent number: 9582278
Abstract: A system for generating processor hardware supports a language for significant extensions to the processor instruction set, where the designer specifies only the semantics of the new instructions and the system generates other logic. The extension language provides for the addition of processor state, including register files, and instructions that operate on that state. The language also provides for new data types to be added to the compiler to represent the state added. It allows separate specification of reference semantics and instruction implementation, and uses this to automate design verification. In addition, the system generates formatted instruction set documentation from the language specification.

  • Patent number: 9580564
Abstract: The present invention is embodied in a transparent, polyurethane laminate or multi-layer coating comprising a first transparent polyurethane layer, a middle conductive material layer disposed on the first transparent polyurethane layer, and a second transparent polyurethane layer disposed on the conductive layer. In one embodiment, the subject invention addresses the problem of static charge buildup on aircraft transparencies by allowing charge to drain through the second transparent polyurethane layer to the conductive material layer and then to the edge of the conductive material layer, where it is mated to the airframe. The present invention is also embodied in a method for forming a transparent polyurethane laminate on a transparent substrate and a method for forming a free-standing laminate.

  • Patent number: 9584308
Abstract: A digital system of measuring parameters of the signal (phase, frequency and frequency derivative) received in additive mixture with Gaussian noise. The system is based on the use of variables of a PLL for calculating preliminary estimates of parameters and calculating the corrections for these estimates when there is a spurt frequency caused by a receiver motion with a jerk. A jerk is determined if the low pass filtered signal of the discriminator exceeds a certain threshold. The jerk-correction decreases the dynamic errors. Another embodiment includes a tracking filter for obtaining preliminary estimates of parameters to reduce the fluctuation errors. Estimates are taken from the tracking filter when there is no jerk and from the block of jerk-corrections when there is a jerk.

  • Patent number: 9584637
Abstract: Circuitry to provide in-order packet delivery. A packet descriptor including a sequence number is received. It is determined in which of three ranges the sequence number resides. Depending, at least in part, on the range in which the sequence number resides it is determined if the packet descriptor is to be communicated to a scheduler which causes an associated packet to be transmitted. If the sequence number resides in a first “flush” range, all associated packet descriptors are output. If the sequence number resides in a second “send” range, only the received packet descriptor is output. If the sequence number resides in a third “store and reorder” range and the sequence number is the next in-order sequence number the packet descriptor is output; if the sequence number is not the next in-order sequence number the packet descriptor is stored in a buffer and a corresponding valid bit is set.

  • Patent number: 9582838
Abstract: A method and system for a mini-screen dashboard is described with reference to healthcare workflow processes where multiple healthcare providers work together to manage their patients. The status criteria for patients is collected in one or more healthcare workflow databases accessible by the clinicians according to their various roles and functions using corresponding workflow applications. A central computer determines the number of patients that correspond with various status criteria of the patients that are already being monitored by the clinicians and the mini-screen unobtrusively displays the number patients that meet the status criteria in a series of indicator boxes that remain in the foreground of the clinicians' respective computer screens. The mini-screen dashboard is semi-transparent, becoming opaque when a box is selected and displaying the heading name of the status criteria corresponding with the selected box and also displaying the names of the patients satisfying the status criteria.

  • Patent number: 9584484
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for providing secure support to virtual appliances delivered to customer sites without passwords or enabled ports for service. A virtual appliance may be established on a first device. The virtual appliance may comprise a self-contained virtual machine with a pre-installed operating system and may be established with no root password enabled and a remote access port disabled. An administration tool may receive from a requestor a request to enable maintenance for the virtual appliance. The administration tool may generate, responsive to the request, a random password. The administration tool may enable, responsive to the request, the remote access port. The virtual appliance may wait for a connection to the remote access port for a predetermined period of time. The administration tool may transmit the random password to a service of a second device remote to the first device.

  • Patent number: 9584427
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing fine grained control over MSS values of transport layer connections. A device intermediary to a plurality of clients and a plurality of servers can identify a first MSS value based on a MTU value of a VLAN interface responsive to a request to establish a transport layer connection. Device determines that a MSS value of the VLAN is less than the first MSS value. Device updates, responsive to the determination, the first MSS value to a second MSS value corresponding to the MSS value of the VLAN. Device determines that an MSS value specified by a profile configured for a virtual server of the device is less than the second MSS value. Device updates the second MSS value to the MSS value of the profile responsive to determining that the MSS value specified by the profile is less than the second MSS value.

  • Patent number: 9582302
Abstract: A computing system is configured to use a trampoline to isolate sensitive code in a virtual environment and in other applications. An import table may describe the entry points of a privileged code module or driver that generates privileged code. A system and method loads a shadow kernel to facilitate isolating the linkage between drivers and the rest of the system. The shadow kernel may be a copy of the operating system kernel that does not have the same integral position in the operation of the computing device. The shadow kernel may be used as a template for creating a jump table to redirect more critical privileged resource access requests from specially loaded kernel mode drivers to the PVM. All requests may pass through the PVM, which redirects non-critical functions to the original kernel. Multiple copies of a given driver or code module may be loaded in a given session.
