  • Patent number: 10065617
Abstract: An apparatus and method for protecting an intact portion of a service brake system from a failed wheel end of a vehicle is provided. A failure in a wheel end is detected by determining an operation state of each of the wheel ends by monitoring parameters including the pressure in a parking brake air supply line. When it is determined that a failed wheel end is present in the service brake system, a service brake isolation valve is switched to a state in which the failed wheel end is isolated from the rest of the brake system. The service brake of the failed wheel end is disabled, while the service brakes of the other wheel ends are enabled for normal operation. The parking brake of the failed wheel end is enabled, while the parking brakes of the other wheel ends are disabled to prevent immobilization of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10067897
Abstract: A system and method system for determining the positions of one or more collision avoidance sensors on a vehicle is provided. The system includes one or more sensors disposed on the vehicle and configured to generate electromagnetic waves within corresponding fields of view on a side of the vehicle and to receive reflections of the waves from objects passing through the field of view of each sensor. A controller receives signals generated by the sensors responsive to the reflections and determines, responsive to the signals, relative speeds and relative directions of movement of the objects relative to the vehicle. The controller further determines the position of the sensors on the vehicle responsive to the relative speeds and relative directions of movement. In particular, the controller determines the location of sensors relative to the vehicle centerline and the relative positions and distances between sensors in the direction of vehicle travel.

  • Patent number: 10067779
Abstract: A hypervisor preferably provides VM identification, priority and LUN/LBA range information to the HBA when a VM is created. Alternatively, the HBA can determine that a LUN/LBA range is new and request VM identity, priority and LUN/LBA range from the hypervisor. The HBA creates a table containing the VM identification, priority and LUN/LBA range. The HBA then detects operations directed to the LUN/LBA range and does a lookup to determine VM identification and priority. VM identification and priority are then mapped into a field in a frame using a unique identifier. The unique identifier can either be placed using reserved bits on the existing Fibre Channel (FC) header or can use bits in an additional header, such as a modified IFR header.

  • Patent number: 10063473
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a computing system. The computing system includes a processor and a memory storing instructions that are executed by the processor. The computing system stores in a first table a first mapping between a first switch identifier and a next-hop switch identifier for the first switch identifier, and stores in a second table a second mapping between the first switch identifier and a first media access control (MAC) address of a remote device. The computing system encapsulates a first packet, which has first MAC address as a destination address, in a first encapsulation header with the first switch identifier as an egress switch identifier of the first encapsulation header. This encapsulated packet is forwarded in a network of interconnected switches based on the first encapsulation header.

  • Patent number: 10063311
Abstract: A system is provided for reducing latency data collection from space-based sensor satellites. A mobile vehicle platform, configured to travel around the Earth, includes a sensor module and a relay satellite terminal. The sensor module monitors certain conditions, circumstances, environments and/or situations occurring on or around, or associated with, the Earth, and generates sensor data resulting from the monitoring. The relay satellite terminal executes data communications with a first of a plurality of satellites while the mobile vehicle platform is in a first area within a communications range of the first satellite, and, upon moving to a second area within a communications range of a second of the plurality of satellites, the relay satellite terminal switches the data communications to the second satellite. The data communications relay the sensor data, via the satellites, to a central processing facility for aggregation, processing, analysis and/or dissemination of the data.

  • Patent number: 10060406
Abstract: The APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR HARNESSING FLUID FLOW WITH FLEXIBLE MECHANICAL TRANSDUCERS include mechanisms that include flexible elements with strained deformations. In some implementations, oscillations of strained deformations in fins are excited by a moving fluid. By coupling the fin structure to an electrical generator and/or pump, energy from the moving fluid can be converted into electrical energy or used to perform useful mechanical work. In some implementations, the fin may be coupled to a motor or other actuator which causes the strained deformations to move, thereby imparting force onto the fluid to move or mix fluid or perform other useful work.
