    Abstract: A loyalty reward point system that utilizes the pre-existing infrastructure of network such as a credit card network. A user makes a purchase at a merchant using a token such as a credit card. As part of the purchase transaction, the user is awarded reward points from the merchant based on the purchase, which are stored in an account associated with the merchant and the user by the issuing bank. The reward account is maintained on the issuing bank server on behalf of the merchant and the user, and the number of reward points in the user's account for that merchant is increased accordingly.

    Abstract: Apparatus for aligning an ablation catheter and a temperature probe relatively for an ablation procedure includes an ablation catheter with a first antenna for ablating tissue at an ablation site in a patient's body and a temperature probe for placement in a body passage having a wall portion adjacent to the ablation site so that a second antenna in the probe is positioned opposite the first antenna. A microwave source provides a pulse modulated microwave signal to one of the antennas and a radiometer is in circuit with the other antenna. A synchronizing device in circuit with the microwave source and the radiometer enables the radiometer to synchronously detect the microwave signal so that the radiometer provides an alignment signal whose strength reflects the degree of alignment of the first and second antennas which signal may be used to control an alignment display. An alignment method using the apparatus is also disclosed.

The receiver includes a first filter, a second filter and a nonlinear compensator. The first filter is arranged to receive the first signal and to generate a first filtered signal. The second filter is arranged to receive the second signal and to generate a second filtered signal. The nonlinear compensator is arranged to output a first compensating signal based on the first filtered signal and the second filtered signal and to output a second compensating signal based on the first filtered signal and the second filtered signal. Further, the nonlinear compensator can reduce one of nonlinear interference within the first filtered signal and nonlinear interference between the first filtered signal and the second filtered signal.

The RFID tag data is written to and read from the RFID tags prior, during or after deploying the OFN components. An OFN-component-data database unit is used to store and process the RFID tag data. This allows for different maps of the OFN to be made, such as an inventory map and a maintenance map. The OFN-RFID system allows for automated operations and management of OFN components by service personnel, and provides for faster and more accurate OFN system deployment and maintenance.

    Abstract: A user selects a product to be liquidated from a product provider and then designates to the transacting entity that reward points are to be used towards the purchase of the liquidated product. The transacting entity acts to decrease the number of reward points in the user's reward account by the required number of points. The reward account holder conveys consideration to the transacting entity equivalent to the par value of the reward points. The consumer obtains the product in exchange for reward points having a retail value equivalent to what he would have otherwise paid for the product, while the reward account holder is required to convey only the par value of the points. The product provider is able to liquidate the product and obtain payment equivalent to what it would otherwise have obtained in a prior art liquidation process, auction or trading environment.

The holding apparatuses are inserted with the prepared optical waveguide sections into a splicing unit, where they are spliced. The preprocessing unit, the splicing unit and the shrinking oven can be controlled by means of one hand of an operator, while the splicer is held with the other hand.

Each strength member is covered by a movable member.

These steps are repeated using a new set of one or more exercise constraints that were refined based upon the exercise result of a previous isometric contraction exercise work out session.
