  • Patent number: 9386513
Abstract: A method for mobile radio suppliers to provide or share or jointly use a mobile radio access network is provided. Said method is characterized in that a single radio access network (9; 12), which is operated according to UMTS standard, cdma2000 standard, or GSM standard, for example, is jointly used by several mobile radio suppliers. In order to do so, the mobile radio networks comprise a common radio access network but separate core networks. Preferably several PLMN IDs are transmitted by the common radio access network and are made available to the user terminal for selection. The inventive method allows a joint radio access network to be made accessible to different mobile radio suppliers, a mobile radio user selecting one of several transmitted preferably PLMN IDs and using services (CS or PS) via the associated core network of the selected mobile radio operator.

  • Patent number: 8280361
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for renewing program files of a programmable, mobile telecommunications terminal, according to which the program files are transmitted from a telecommunications network to the telecommunications terminal via the air interface. The aim of the invention is to allow the program files to be renewed in a simple and cost-effective manner and with little effort. To achieve this, the terminal type is determined by the telecommunications network, new program files that exist in devices of the telecommunications network, or are available elsewhere are determined and made available for the identified terminal type and the existing new program files are automatically transmitted to the terminal via the air interface.

  • Patent number: 8089495
Abstract: A method for the display of standardized Internet pages (for example, in HTML or XML standard), generated for display on large-size screens, on a small display on hand-held devices (mini-computer, PDA or mobile radio device) is disclosed, in which the hand-held device can be provided with a mobile radio connection to the internet. A virtual large image memory is maintained in the device. Within the large virtual image the device display can be freely displaced as a readable image section. A zoom function permits an overview and coarse positioning of the detailed representation. The detailed representation can be continuously moved around within the virtual image in the form of a screen section by means of a pointer device (mouse pointer) by moving the mouse pointer to the display edge (and beyond). Switching can be performed at any time between the display modes.

  • Patent number: 8010641
Abstract: A method couples online and Internet services. Previously, personalized services in particular (e-mail etc.) are only available from Internet service providers via the telecommunications network and RAS/RADIUS access and not via the public Internet. Now the ISP is equipped with an open Internet application platform (OIA) coupled so that the ISP customer can take advantage of an extended range of services compared to usual Internet customers, even during access via the Internet. The method permits e-mails to be re-directed from the ISP server with a known address to the OIA platform, in such a way that the customer can use these services world-wide via the public Internet using any terminal via any network. One example is the use of a T-Online e-mail account from the fixed network and mobile telecommunications network, from home, at work and while travelling via foreign telephone networks and local and foreign company networks/LAN access.
