Abstract: A vehicle seat with a child seat may have an engagement member, comprising anchors to hold the child seat. Each anchor may have a pair of left and right side bars and a front bar coupled to the side bars. The front bars are engaged with the engagement member. The side bars are secured by brackets to a connecting pipe of the seat cushion or the seatback. Each recess may be made in a pad. A trim cover may have openings each above the recess. The engagement member may have a bifurcated shape and has a groove engaged with the front bar. The connecting members, having one end connected to a trim cover terminal behind the opening and the other end engaged with the bracket, may be wound around the connecting pipe and stretched between the bracket and the trim cover terminal, each drawing the terminal into the recess.
Abstract: With respect to a vehicular seat, a hook member of a seat skin and a seat frame structure that facilitate assembling of the skin of a seat cushion or a seat back to a seat frame are provided. The vehicular seat includes: a seat cushion to be a seating face portion of the seat; and a seat back provided on the rear side of the seat cushion and to be a backrest portion of the seat. At least either of the seat cushion and the seat back includes an engaging member provided at an end of the skin material thereof with one or more protruded portions. The skin material is engaged with the seat frame by fitting the protruded portions on the engaging member into grooves or openings provided in the seat frame of the vehicular seat.
Abstract: A vehicle seat incorporating a side airbag includes a seat cushion and a seat back, if an impact is detected at that side of the seat back, the inflator is activated, generating high-pressure gas, the gas gushes in the airbag, inflating the airbag, and the airbag so inflated tears up the sewn part of the seat back, which are positioned at the front part of the vehicle wall side of the seat back, and develops to the side and front of the occupant, isolating the occupant from the vehicle wall and protecting the occupant; and the airbag is secured to the inner side of the side frame on the vehicle wall side, an expansion restriction plate is provided on the inner side of the airbag, and the airbag is sandwiched between the side frame on the vehicle wall side and the expansion restriction plate.
Abstract: A vehicle seat includes an armrest having a body provided with a recessed portion recessed toward a widthwise inward direction of the seat in such a manner as to surround a shaft member, and a hook member attached to a distal end of the shaft member and fitted in the recessed portion. The hook member includes a presser portion for pressing a skin layer of the armrest with the skin layer gripped between the presser portion and the body of the armrest, a baggage engagement portion extending from the presser portion in a widthwise outward direction of the seat for hooking engagement with the baggage, and a flange portion located at a distal end of the baggage engagement portion and extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to an axis of the shaft member for preventing the baggage from displacing off the hook member.
Abstract: Vehicle seat including: a seat back pivoted to a side of floor; a seat cushion pivoted to the seat back; and a front leg element having an upper end pivoted to the seat cushion and a lower end pivotally locked to the side of floor in a releasable manner, thus normally providing a four-pivotal-point linkage in the seat. Maintaining the four-pivotal-point linkage adversely restricts design and actions of the seat. Inequality conditions are therefore set in that four-pivotal-point linkage, such that folding down the seat back by an angle exceeding a predetermined angle results in unlocking of the lower end of the front leg element from the side of floor, thereby destroying the four-pivotal-point linkage. Hence, a freedom of design is increased for the seat and floor. Further, leverage mechanism(s) may be provided to facilitate the ease of unlocking the front leg element from the side of floor.
Abstract: There is provided a head rest device 10 that does not impair safety of a seated person even when a secondary battery 35 is accommodated therein. An accommodation space 28 partitioned by a partitioning plate part 25 is provided inside a cushioning core material 12 of a head rest main body, and a secondary battery 35 is accommodated inside the accommodation space 28.
Abstract: A vehicle seat includes a pair of anchors able to engage with engagement members provided on a child seat; a pad having a pair of pad recesses for storing anchors, a trim cover having openings above the pad recesses; and a pair of bezels being hollow cylinder shaped, each having an upper edge flange sewn at the outer edge to the terminal of the trim cover, and covering and hiding the associated pad recess, and each bezel is made of flexible material and has a lower edge flange formed integral with a lower end thereof capable of inserting into the pad recess, the pad has an engaging section capable of engaging with the lower edge flange, the lower edge flange may be deformed and inserted into the pad recess in order to make the bezel cover the pad recess, and the lower edge flange may restore its original shape.
