    Abstract: A method for making a mushroom-type hook strap for mechanical fasteners is disclosed. In a first stage of the method, a hook strap on which a plurality of hook preforms each having a substantially V-shaped free end are integrally molded. Then, in a second stage of the method, the V-shaped free end of each the hook preform is deformed into a polygonal head portion by two calendar rolls so as to form a mushroom-type hook strap that has a higher engaging percentage with the loop strap, has a longer lifetime, and is capable of providing a reliable and all-directional uniform fastening function.

In the method of present invention, melted plastic material is injected into cavities of a molding roll; excessive plastic material is scraped from a peripheral surface of the molding roll with a scrapper; a web of fabric substrate is bonded to the hooks molded in the cavities through a thermo-pressing process by using a thermo-pressing roll; and the combined hooks and fabric substrate is cooled and removed from the molding roll to form a fabric material with a hook strap. The present invention also provides an apparatus for performing the method of the present invention.

The positioning units respectively have a bulge, an opening, an indentation and an operating portion. The bulge can be held in the first holes to locate the positioning unit. A block portion is formed between the opening and the indentation. The operating portion is connected to the positioning unit body outside the fastener body. Therefore, multiple spaces for the string to pass through are provided with the block portions of the position units and the bar portion of the fastener body.

The transparent hook side is mutually combined with a patterned layer with diagrams visible through the transparent hook side to provide a perspective visual effect. An outer surface of the patterned layer is coated with a protective film. When the sporting device hits onto the target board thereof, the resilient straps will be elastically stretched according to the impact generated providing an anti-shock effect for the sporting device to grip onto the transparent hook side of the target board in a secure manner.
