Abstract: A device for rotating body capable of reducing fluid resistance loss by making use of the conventional bearing technology. The device is provided with a rotating body held rotatably; and one or more covering rotating bodies are installed on the outer side of the rotating body and held rotatably and coaxially with the rotating body. Bearing means are provided between the rotating body and the covering rotating body adjacent thereto or between the covering rotating bodies adjacent to each other, and bearings for the respective covering rotating bodies are disposed in series in relation to bearings for the rotating body. In addition, by filling up the interior of a case with hydrogen gas or helium gas, lower in density than air, windage loss can be further reduced.

Abstract: A card includes a magnetic track portion on which value information representing a prepaid amount and one of serial number data consecutively assigned in an issuance order are magnetically recorded, and a serial number printing portion in which a number representing the serial number data is marked with a laser beam. A card issuing apparatus includes a recording/reproducing unit and a laser marking unit. The recording/reproducing unit magnetically records value information representing a prepaid amount and one of serial number data consecutively assigned in an issuance order in a first area of the card, and reads out the serial number data magnetically recorded in the first area. The laser marking unit marks a number represented by the serial number data read out by the recording/reproducing unit in a second area of the card with a laser beam.
Abstract: A card includes a magnetic track portion, a first bar code area, and a second bar code area. Value information representing a prepaid amount and management information for card management are magnetically recorded in the magnetic track portion. The first bar code area is formed parallel to the magnetic track portion at a position not overlapping the magnetic track portion. The first bar code area is recorded with a first bar code representing the value information. The second bar code area is formed in a direction perpendicular to the first bar code area at a position not overlapping the first bar code area. The second bar code area is printed with a second bar code representing the management information. A method of checking this card is also disclosed.
Abstract: A structure of a card insertion port includes a card reader, an insertion port plate, and a coupling portion. The card reader is incorporated in an apparatus main body and reads/writes information from and on a card. The card reader has a slit-like card intake port arranged to oppose a front case of the apparatus main body. The insertion port plate is formed to be physically separate from the card intake port and mounted to an opening in the front case. The insertion port plate has a slit-like card insertion port extending from a front surface to a rear surface of the front case and is closely opposite to the card intake port. The coupling portion couples the card insertion port and the card intake port, thereby constituting a card intake path extending from the card insertion port to the card intake port. A method of mounting a card insertion port member is also provided.
Abstract: A card issue system includes a data terminal, a card issue apparatus, a common memory, interface, and a data bus. The data terminal receives card issue information including a card issue command. The card issue apparatus performs a card issue process on the basis of the card issue information from the data terminal. The common memory is arranged in the card issue apparatus and stores card issue process result information. The interface performs data interface between the data terminal and the card issue apparatus, and the card issue information from the data terminal is transmitted to the card issue apparatus through the interface. The data bus connects the common memory and the data terminal, and the card issue process result information stored in the common memory is transmitted to the data memory through the data bus.
Abstract: A call control apparatus for a pay phone includes a reading unit, a calculating unit, and a call enable unit. The reading unit reads out value information of an inserted card. The calculating unit calculates a call time corresponding to a ratio of the value information to a unit call fee when the value information read out by the reading unit does not reach the unit call fee. The call enable unit allows a call service by the call time calculated by the calculating unit.
Abstract: A magnetic card reader apparatus includes a convey unit, a sensor, a buffer, a reading unit, a detection unit, and a calculation unit. The convey unit conveys an inserted prepaid card at a predetermined speed, and the prepaid card has a punch hole formed at a position corresponding to balance information. The sensor samples the punch hole of the prepaid card during conveying of the prepaid card at a predetermined time interval from a leading end side of the prepaid card. The buffer stores sampling data output from the sensor. The reading unit sequentially reads out the sampling data stored in the buffer from sampling data corresponding to a trailing end portion of the prepaid card. The detection unit detects data first representing a punch hole from the sampling data read out from the buffer. The calculation unit calculates a position of the punch hole on the basis of a detection output from the detection unit to detect the balance information of the prepaid card.
Abstract: A public telephone system includes a plurality of public telephone sets and a center apparatus. Each of the public telephone sets includes a reading unit for reading card information recorded in a prepaid card upon insertion of the prepaid card and a first transmitting unit for transmitting the card information read by the reading unit to the center apparatus through a telephone line.
Abstract: A magnetic card includes a magnetic layer, a bar code, a protection layer, and a pseudo bar code. The magnetic layer is formed on a substrate, records magnetic information, and reflects light. The bar code is formed on a predetermined area of the magnetic layer by a light absorption material and detected by a lack of reflected light from the magnetic layer. The protection layer is formed on the predetermined area of the magnetic layer and protects the bar code. The pseudo bar code is formed on the magnetic layer and intermingled with the bar code. An address information code is provided on the card for determining the bar code form the pseudo bar code. A card reader apparatus using this magnetic card is also disclosed.
Abstract: A data write apparatus includes a card conveyor path, a recording head, a sensor circuit, a Central Processing Unit (CPU), a drive circuit, and an enable section. A magnetic card is conveyed in the card conveyor path. The recording head is arranged on the card conveyor path and performs a recording operation on the magnetic card by energizing a winding coil. The sensor circuit is arranged on the card conveyor path near the recording head and detects the magnetic card conveyed in the card convey or path to output a detection signal. The CPU outputs write data to be written on the magnetic card in response to the detection signal from the sensor circuit. The drive circuit energizes the winding coil of the recording head on the basis of the write data from the CPU to perform the recording operation.
Abstract: A public telephone system includes public telephone sets assigned with different specific numbers and allowing speech communication using cards and a center apparatus connected to the public telephone sets through a telephone line. The center apparatus includes a list number forming unit for forming one list number from numbers of a plurality of invalid cards produced by illegally rewriting the cards, a registering unit for registering each formed list number in association with a series number, management number, and telephone number of each of the telephone sets, a storage unit for storing the list number and the series number, management number, and telephone number of each telephone set, all of which are registered by the registering unit, and a list number transmitting unit for calling, through the telephone line, each public telephone set corresponding to the telephone number registered in the storage unit and transmitting a list number corresponding to each telephone set.
Abstract: A task processing apparatus includes a main CPU, a plurality of sub-CPUs, a first starting section, a second starting section, and a notification section. The plurality of sub-CPUs independently execute a series of difference tasks set in advance in accordance with a predetermined sequence. The first starting section is arranged in the main CPU to output a first starting signal for starting the first sub-CPU, of the plurality of sub-CPUs, which executes a first task at the start of the series of tasks. The second starting section is arranged in each of the sub-CPUs except for the last sub-CPU. The notification section is arranged in the last sub-CPU of the plurality of sub-CPUs. Abstract: A card loading device includes an elevator, a roller, a card loading port, and two sensors for detecting the feeding of cards, exhausting the feeding of cards and the reloading of cards. The elevator raises/lowers a plurality of accumulated cards. The roller is arranged at a card feed position and rotated clockwise to feed a card located at an uppermost position of the accumulated cards and brought into contact with the roller when the elevator is raised. The card loading port has an opening slightly larger than a thickness of a card and loads a card fed by the roller. The two sensors can detect the proper and the improper loading of a fed card at the card loading port. When a card has been improperly loaded, the sensors send a signal that reverses the roller direction (counterclockwise) and lowers the elevator, thereby exhausting the card from the card loading port.
Abstract: A card convey device includes a card convey unit, a punching unit, a counting unit, and a control unit. The card convey unit selectively conveys a card in a discharging direction and an opposite direction thereto. The punching unit punches the card which slows down, while the card is conveyed by the card convey unit in the discharging direction. The counting unit is enabled after a punching operation is performed by the punching unit, and counts the number of times of repetition of a reciprocal card convey operation in the opposite direction and the discharging direction. The control unit controls a convey operation of the card convey unit and repeatedly reciprocally conveys the card in the opposite direction and the discharging direction until the count value of the enabled counting unit reaches a predetermined count value. When the count value of the counting unit reaches the predetermined count value, the control unit conveys the card in the discharging direction and discharges the card.
Abstract: A card convey device includes a first convey path, a second convey path, a third convey path, jam detector, convey controller, and card sorter. The first convey path conveys a loaded card. The second convey path is branched from the first convey path and conveys a non-defective card distributed from cards conveyed from the first convey path. The third convey path is branched from the first convey path and conveys a defective card distributed from the cards conveyed from the first convey path. The jam detector detects jam of a card occurring in each of the first, second, and third convey paths. The convey controller conveys a card through each of the first, second, and third convey paths at a predetermined speed, stops a convey operation of the card when the jam detector detects jam of the card, and reconveys the card in response to a reconvey command.
Abstract: A power source control circuit for a telephone set, includes a power source switch, a detecting circuit, a power hold circuit, and a control circuit. The power source switch supplies an external power to the telephone set. The detecting circuit detects an off-hook operation of the telephone set or an incoming signal arriving at a line. The power hold circuit holds the power source switch in an ON state for a predetermined time period on the basis of an output from the detecting circuit. The control circuit is activated by supply of the external power and transmits an extension signal for extending the ON state of the power source switch within the predetermine time period.

Abstract: A called party response detecting apparatus of a terminal equipment includes a plurality of filter units, a determining unit, and an analyzing unit. The filter units are commonly connected to an input side and detects specific frequency components included in a plurality of signal tones coming from a telephone line. The determining unit checks the presence/absence of each output from the filter units for each fundamental period to determine a signal type on the basis of a predetermined output pattern. The analyzing unit analyzes various signal tones and a called party response on the basis of occurrences of signal type outputs during a predetermined time period of the determining unit.
