Abstract: A method of manufacturing a ferromagnetic metal powder characterized by continuously drying a slurry of ferromagnetic metal powder formed by wet reduction, in a non-oxidizing gas atmosphere, and subsequently continuously heat-treating the dried ferromagnetic metal powder in a non-oxidizing gas atmosphere. The continuous method prevents the ferromagnetic metal powder from being exposed to excess oxygen to enhance the magnetic properties of the ferromagnetic metal powder. Also, the production efficiency is enhanced.
Abstract: Disclosed is a magnetic head used for a vertical magnetizing system comprising a core having a pair of leg portions and an auxiliary magnetic pole which is arranged so as to face both leg portions. A closed magnetic path is formed by the core and the auxiliary magnetic pole. A sharp edge is formed at each end of the leg portions. A magnetic recording medium passes through the gap between the sharp edges and the auxiliary magnetic pole. When the magnetic recording medium passes through the gap, a high density magnetic recording operation is performed by the magnetic field produced by each sharp edge. Moreover, the recording operation can be effectively carried out due to the closed magnetic path and the recording magnetic field magnetized on the magnetic recording medium can be read out by using the same magnetic head as the magnetic head which is used for the recording operation.

Abstract: Disclosed is the addition of at least two elements of Nb, V, Ta and Zr to the ternary alloy of R (rare earth)-Co-Cu for permanent magnet materials, to thereby provide the permanent magnets with increased coercive force, residual magnetization and energy product. The additional elements enable employment of such Cu and Fe contents of the alloy as less than 10% and more than 6%, respectively. These percentages were avoided in the prior art to prevent the reduction of Br and Hc, respectively.

Abstract: A variable leakage transformer or a variable voltage transformer comprising a magnetic core with a main magnetic path and a sub-magnetic path, the main magnetic path having at least a common magnetic path with the sub-magnetic path, a primary winding wound on said common magnetic path of the core, a secondary winding wound on said main magnetic path of the core, and means for controlling the magnetic flux in said sub-magnetic path. By controlling the magnetic flux in the sub-magnetic path, the leakage of the flux induced by the primary winding from the main magnetic path to the sub-magnetic path can be controlled, thus the coupling between the primary and secondary windings, and conduction period in each cycle of the AC output voltage are controlled. The control of the conduction period in each cycle provides the control of the power transmitted from the primary winding to the secondary winding.
